  1. [ID-4259941] Find/Change Text dialog does not show all Search options.

    after making a selection, the Find/Change text dialog sometimes does not offer Selection in the Search dropdown. It will be present under GREP and Object, but not Text and Glyph. Closing/reopening Find/Change does not fix it. Restarting InDesign usually fixes it...until it goes missing again.

  2. For text frames with inset spacing and shaped corners, the text frame can auto-size to be much wider than the actual text

    InDesign: 15.0.1 x64
    Creative Cloud: 5.1.0.407

    This behavior varies depending on the combination of:
    - typeface
    - font size
    - corner size
    - inset spacing
    - actual text contents in text frame

    1. Put a few words in a text frame, and keep the text frame selected. I can trigger this easily with Minion Pro, Roboto, and Inconsolata.

    2. In Object -> Text Frame Options:

      • In the General section, set Inset Spacing to some nonzero value.
      • In the Auto-Size section, set Auto-Sizing to Height and Width, and enable No Line Breaks.

  3. InDesign 2026 doesn’t remember “Show Import Options” checkbox (Mac)

    In the new InDesign 2026, this issue still persists — it’s been present at least since version 2025.

    When importing graphics, the Finder window opens, but InDesign no longer remembers the “Show Import Options” checkbox state. In previous versions, this preference stayed active even after restarting the application.

    Now I have to check it again every time I open InDesign.

  4. find replace story & selection options often not appearing

    find replace story & selection options not appearing anymore. IND 2022

    it will often just show document, documents as options. no rhyme or reason that I can see

    monterey 12.6.7 intel iMac 5k 2020. system recently updated July 2023, could this bug be a resulting conflict?

  5. arrow/scroll

    BUG Report: InDesign 13.3 x 64:
    I can't use my arrow to scroll up and down the Effects menu to see the various effects on my selected box. Instead, I have to click to reopen the list for each effect and then click each effect. There are 15 effects, so that's 30 clicks to get through the list instead of one click to open the list and then scrolling the list with the arrow key(s) to see the different effects on my selected box.   6. Incorrect font in Paragraph Style Options "Font Family"

    InDesign 15.1.3
    In the Paragraph Styles panel, in "Paragraph Style Options: Basic Character Formats: Font Family:" the Font Family field has Adobe Garamond Pro when the actual font setting is Adobe Garamond.
    Expected result: The Font Family field correctly has Adobe Garamond

  7. Object Style — Frame Fitting Options — Crop Amount: Does not respect set measurements

    Object Style — Frame Fitting Options — Crop Amount: Does not respect set measurements.

    The Object size is fixed at 300px height, with total crop of -60px.

    The Image Size within should amount to 240px after crop, but it is as shown in image 4 attached here.

    Autofit is ON.

  8. [ID-4271100]With Application Frame "OFF", Green Maximize Button Doesn't Zoom to Fit Anymore

    OSX 15.7.1

    Just updated ID and all the previous docs I've been working on today, are opening in huge windows. It takes a few resizes to scale down the window, then grabbing the bottom right corner to resize the window finally, it's jumping away from the cursor.

    Resizing windows when tiling still does that (as per the previous version/bug), which is also super annoying. Please fix all these bugs!! It's like no one at Adobe uses these products

    The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2026(v21.0.1.006). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application, click on the context menu on the top right, and click on Check for App Updates.

  9. Drop-down menu options not highlighting

    Visual feedback of selected item works when moving down through list using Down Arrow Key. Visual feedback does not work when moving back up through the list using Up Arrow Key. It will select the correct item, it just doesn't show that the correct item is currently highlighted.

    The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update 14.0.2 of InDesign 2019.
    If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.
    Once the update button is shown against InDesign, click on the button to update to Id 14.0.2.

  11. Preserve Image Dimensions when Relinking and "Auto-fit" options do not seem to work.

    I am using Indesign 14.0

    When I relink files, Indesign changes the scale and placement of images automatically, regardless of whether the preserve image dimensions option in the file handling box is checked or unchecked, and whether the "auto-fit" button in the tool menu is checked or uncheked.

    Preferences > File Handling > "Preserve Image Dimensions when Relinking"

    What is the state of “Preserve Image Dimensions When Relinking” in Preferences – is it checked or unchecked? What is the state of “Auto-Fit” – is it checked or unchecked?

  12. Auto-size text boxes with rounded corners expands randomly.

    Version 2018, 13.0

    Set a text box to auto size height and width (with no line breaks)
    Make the corners rounded
    As you can see in the attached jpgs of before and after, sometimes the box expands in width and sometimes in height, but randomly, not wrapping around the text correctly.

    Is the issue only specific to 13.0? What is the reference point for the autosize?

  13. Shift+Enter (Num-Pad) no longer opens a file with options

    Up to InDesign 2022 one had the possibility to open/place a file with additional options by hitting Shift+Enter (NumPad), instead of checking the box "open with options". Shift+Click on Open still works.

  14. Input Options for Place aren't remembered

    When I go to place a page from a pdf into an indesign document, the selection is set to transparent. I uncheck transparent, but I have to do that again each time I place a new page. The crop options don't stay either. Can't this be remembered?

  15. Panel UI out of place, some options missing

    Some panels UI out of place, some options missing or hidden. This started happening after latest update.

    Indesign version 19.5, MacOS version 14.6.1 (23G93)
    Restarting application and/or computer not helping.

  16. Object menu options not working/ not present/

    InDesign version 2017 CC

    Using plugins for work flow media news.

    Not updated InDesign since the plugins have not released newer supportive version to latest InDesign versions.

    I cannot use Object menu options like Fitting, Lock, Arrange..

    I have reset the preferences multiple times.

    Its just not solving this issue.

  17. How do you disable the new "Alt Text" icon that shows in the lower-left corner of image frames?

    It's like the AI feature that was added in Illustrator. I can't find an option to disable it and it's very distracting. It looks like a mistake in the artwork and will stay the same size regardless of zoom level. Disabling the two Alt Text features in Generative AI preferences did NOT fix this.

  18. Show Import Options no longer remains enabled

    The “Show Import Options” checkbox does not remain enabled in the “Place” dialog. In some cases, it stays checked for one or two items, but when importing more than that, the option is automatically deselected.

    Previously, this setting remained enabled. While this may appear to be a minor issue, it causes significant inconvenience and seriously disrupts the workflow.

  20. Switch primary text frame's Text Frame Options for multiple pages

    Switch primary text frame's Text Frame Options for multiple pages. See this item on forum: https://forums.adobe.com/message/11180092#11180092. Using 14.0.2 x64. You can't use applying a new Master Page to switch Balance Columns off and on on a Primary Text Frame, though you can use it to change number of columns. Thank you for your attention to this likely bug.
