  1. Drop-down menu options not highlighting

    Visual feedback of selected item works when moving down through list using Down Arrow Key. Visual feedback does not work when moving back up through the list using Up Arrow Key. It will select the correct item, it just doesn't show that the correct item is currently highlighted.

    The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update 14.0.2 of InDesign 2019.
    If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.
    Once the update button is shown against InDesign, click on the button to update to Id 14.0.2.

  2. Object Style — Frame Fitting Options — Crop Amount: Does not respect set measurements

    Object Style — Frame Fitting Options — Crop Amount: Does not respect set measurements.

    The Object size is fixed at 300px height, with total crop of -60px.

    The Image Size within should amount to 240px after crop, but it is as shown in image 4 attached here.

    Autofit is ON.

  3. arrow/scroll

    BUG Report: InDesign 13.3 x 64:
    I can't use my arrow to scroll up and down the Effects menu to see the various effects on my selected box. Instead, I have to click to reopen the list for each effect and then click each effect. There are 15 effects, so that's 30 clicks to get through the list instead of one click to open the list and then scrolling the list with the arrow key(s) to see the different effects on my selected box.   4. Incorrect font in Paragraph Style Options "Font Family"

    InDesign 15.1.3
    In the Paragraph Styles panel, in "Paragraph Style Options: Basic Character Formats: Font Family:" the Font Family field has Adobe Garamond Pro when the actual font setting is Adobe Garamond.
    Expected result: The Font Family field correctly has Adobe Garamond
    Actual result: The Font Family field incorrectly has Adobe Garamond Pro

  6. Auto-size text boxes with rounded corners expands randomly.

    Version 2018, 13.0

    Set a text box to auto size height and width (with no line breaks)
    Make the corners rounded
    As you can see in the attached jpgs of before and after, sometimes the box expands in width and sometimes in height, but randomly, not wrapping around the text correctly.

    Hi,
    Can you please mail me a sample document to reproduce the issue? I am unable to reproduce the bug.
    Is the issue only specific to 13.0? What is the reference point for the autosize?

  7. Preserve Image Dimensions when Relinking and "Auto-fit" options do not seem to work.

    I am using Indesign 14.0

    When I relink files, Indesign changes the scale and placement of images automatically, regardless of whether the preserve image dimensions option in the file handling box is checked or unchecked, and whether the "auto-fit" button in the tool menu is checked or uncheked.

    Preferences > File Handling > "Preserve Image Dimensions when Relinking"

    What is the state of “Preserve Image Dimensions When Relinking” in Preferences – is it checked or unchecked? What is the state of “Auto-Fit” – is it checked or unchecked?

  8. Input Options for Place aren't remembered

    When I go to place a page from a pdf into an indesign document, the selection is set to transparent. I uncheck transparent, but I have to do that again each time I place a new page. The crop options don't stay either. Can't this be remembered?

  9. Panel UI out of place, some options missing

    Some panels UI out of place, some options missing or hidden. This started happening after latest update.

    Indesign version 19.5, MacOS version 14.6.1 (23G93)
    Restarting application and/or computer not helping.

  10. Shift+Enter (Num-Pad) no longer opens a file with options

    Up to InDesign 2022 one had the possibility to open/place a file with additional options by hitting Shift+Enter (NumPad), instead of checking the box "open with options". Shift+Click on Open still works.

  11. Object menu options not working/ not present/

    InDesign version 2017 CC

    Using plugins for work flow media news.

    Not updated InDesign since the plugins have not released newer supportive version to latest InDesign versions.

    I cannot use Object menu options like Fitting, Lock, Arrange..

    I have reset the preferences multiple times.

    Its just not solving this issue.

  13. Object Layer Options Causing Image to Glitch

    When Object Layer Options are used (top image over graphic, bottom image under graphic box, for example), the image will glitch and polarize. When moving around the document or toggling between regular view and preview mode etc, the image will sporadically go back to normal or alter its representation.

    Normal behaviour is for the image to show as expected.

  14. paragraph style options "Bullet or Number position"

    Hello,
    I am contacting you regarding a problem with the new version of InDesigns’ (version 18.0).
    The problem is that using the "Bullet or Number position" in “Paragraph style options” to change the size of a column in a table, results in the text disappearing.

  15. Switch primary text frame's Text Frame Options for multiple pages

    Switch primary text frame's Text Frame Options for multiple pages. See this item on forum: https://forums.adobe.com/message/11180092#11180092. Using 14.0.2 x64. You can't use applying a new Master Page to switch Balance Columns off and on on a Primary Text Frame, though you can use it to change number of columns. Thank you for your attention to this likely bug.

  16. Can not make a single change to the paragraph style options

    I can not make a single change to the paragraph style options or character style options. The only change it allows me to make is the font family only ONCE. This has been going on for about 2 months and can not fix it. PLEASE HELP. I can't set up a single style. It's Driving me NUTS.

  17. Object Layer Options is broken in v18.3

    When turning off a layer in a placed PSD file with "Object Layer Options", other layers in the PSD are also turned off, even though their respective visibility icons indicate they are showing.

    See the attached file. The "Gradient Map 100" layer makes the image purple. However, when hiding the "Generative Layer 1" layer, the effect of the former layer is broken.

  18. Resize text box crashes InDesign

    Resizing a text box crashes InDesign CC 2018.

    I need a text box to be larger to (accommodate more text) and every method I've tried to enlarge it crashes InDesign.
    - Drag corner (any corner); crash.
    - Manually input larger width or height; crash.
    - Change text box properties to auto-size based on amount of text...add text; crash.

    I NEED to add text to this file TODAY.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

  19. Text frame options (Ctrl B) doesnt open since 3 days

    Text frame options (Ctrl B) doesnt open since 3 days. Indesign freeze. And the Windows desktop background dissapears somtimes. I use this funtion for every project. So I don't know what to do now?

    We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already using it) as it is more robust.

    If you are still facing this issue even after updating it, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

    • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when InDesign froze?
    • Video recording of the issue
    • Is(Are) the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, could you provide us with the document(s)/asset(s)? Please package the entire document (To package the document, choose File → Package…)

  20. InDesign opens with tiny window

    For several recent versions of InDesign, and Windows, including the most recent of both (just updated InD yesterday, and this happened shortly after), I have on rare occasions had InD open as only a tiny box showing only the basic minimize/maximize/close buttons, and a window edge, positioned in the upper left corner. If I click on the maximize button, it goes to maximized, but then cannot grab outer edges to resize the box, and minimizes just goes back to almost nothing. If I then quit InD, USING FILE/QUIT, OR COMMAND-Q, then it will reopen OK. I think, maybe, this…
