  1. Unable to package a file to a server after upgrading to Mojave.

    Dear Adobe,
    Yesterday we upgraded to 10.14 Mojave and I am not able to package files from windows server. Indesign freezes every time.
    I can make packeges from my MAC or from external hard drives. The network is working correctly. On High Sierrea everything worked properly.

    Indesign CC 2018: 13.0
    Mac: 10.14

      Thanks for reporting the issue to us. We need some more information from you to narrow down the problem.

      1. Is this issue reproducible with id 13.1 as well? If you are on id 13.0, please upgrade to Id 13.1.

      2. Does the issue happen when the document is present on Mac machine but the packaged folder is saved on a network?

      3. Does the issue happen when the document is on a network location and the package folder is made on the network location?

      4. Is the issue consistently reproducible?

      5. What kind of server are you using? Is it shared folder on a Windows machine? Or a dedicated storage hosted on a Windows server?

    • I lost all Save, Save As, Undo functionality (everything is grayed out). To save my work, I have to export as an IDML .

      Lost all Save, Save As, Undo functionality while working.
      To save my work, the only thing to do is to export as an IDML file. Force quitting to recover the file doesn't work. This has been happening to me since InDesign 5.5. I am currently using InDesign CC 2018. There are no particular steps, it happens at random. I can have several files open and it only happens to one file, or sometimes it's more than one file. It happens whether I'm working off of my Desktop or on our server.

      • Footnotes flows on the following page even if there is still space on the page where is the reference number

        unfortunately it happens very often that the text of the footnotes flows on the following page even if there is still space (several lines) on the page where is the footnote’s reference number.
        for this bug, the result of many jobs is very bad

          Since you are using a Single-Column Text Frame, please see if unchecking the option “Span Footnotes Across Columns” in the Layout tab of Footnote Options dialog helps you overcome this issue.

          Help! Unable to activate fonts InDesign 2019

          I can't sync fonts on indesign from Adobe Fonts. Nothing works. Tried everything.

          Tried syncing them from the Adobe Font website, tried in Indesign, uninstalled all indesign versions, restarted preferences, uninstalled adobe cloud.

          Deactivating fonts on adobe font website, reactivating them. Doing the same in the cloud app. No fix.

          FONTS HAVING ISSUES : Source Sans pro, Open Sans, League Gothic, Fire Sans , Fire Sans 2.

            We’ve seen this issue happen when you have the same Font already installed on your machine.

            So you may try going to where your Fonts are installed on Windows machine – (Control panel > Fonts) and uninstall/remove the Fonts that you are unable to Sync from Adobe Fonts.

            Hopefully, the problem should get resolved.

          • Unable to export to pdf

            Hi there, I am unable to package some of the InDesign files I am working on at the moment. It shows the error messages attached. Initially, it showed a conversion error however now this no longer shows and it just refuses to allow me to export to pdf and therefore package the document. I have no idea how to fix the issue as it doesn't give any indication at to why it isn't working which is super frustrating.

            • Slow work of Indesign when editing text with large footnotes

              I'd like to report a bug. Please follow the scenario below:

              1. In a single column with lots of text in it, make two columns for a fragment of text

              2. In text within the two-column setup, make a footnote. Add several lines of text to the footnote

              3. Turn on the "Span Footnotes Across Columns" feature so that footnote ends up in the same group with the footnotes at the bottom of the page rather than below the two-column fragment

              4. Expected behaviour: normal editing can be performed after these manipulations

              5. Observed behaviour: any text editing after turning…

                  Thank you for reporting the issue. We need some information around the issue which may help us in narrowing down the root cause:

                  1. Does it happen with the latest InDesign version 14.0.1 ?
                  2. Is it document specific or happens with all the documents?
                  3. Does it happen with Swatches panel only or all other panels while expanding ?
                  4. Have you added any extra swatches or it happens with the default swatches ?
                  5. Please specify your Platform, OS version and InDesign version.

                  A short video depicting the issue will be very helpful.

                • InDesign 14.0.1 is crashing hourly

                  For three days my InDesign 14.0.1 has been crashing almost exactly hourly. It just freezes and I get the spinning beachball. Only recourse is to re-start my Mac. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. Prior to this, I had downloaded Lightroom... I thought this might have been the initial cause. I uninstalled Lightroom and all my Adobe products. Any ideas?

                    After the last Update of Indesign time by time suddenly Indesign report a damaged file if you try to open any InDesign-Document.

                    Everytime after restarting the Mac everything is good and I'm fortunally able to open all o these documents.

                    Sometimes restarting Indesign helps, but not always.

                      We’ve been able to identify one scenario in which the cache folder is not accessible while InDesign is launched, resulting in the issue. The issue seems to be specific to MAC OS.

                      We have released an update for InDesign CC2019 (v 14.0.1) which contains some stability fixes. If you are not already on 14.0.1 (build 209), then we recommend you to update to latest version.

                      If you still encounter the issue again, try to access the location “/Users//Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/Version/14.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/*” and create a file in the directory.

                      Workaround – Quit & relaunch the application, Cache folder gets created and the problem is resolved.

                      We require more information to identify the root cause of the issue. Please provide following information over email to santalwa@adobe.com
                      1. Version of MAC OS (110.12.×, 10.13.x, 10.14.x)
                      2. Is InDesign cache and Preferences mounted on Network drive?

                    • GREP: Repetition (*, +) at the end of a Positive Lookbehind group doesn't seem to work

                      Steps to reproduce:
                      - Create a document with the text "abcde"
                      - (Case 1) Do a GREP search for "(?<=bc+)d"
                      - (Case 1) Do a GREP search for "(?<=bc*)d"

                      Expected result: highlight the "d"

                      Actual result: Cannot find match.

                      Note that searching for "(?<=bc)d" does work, as do of course "(?<b)c*d" and "(?=b)c+d".

                      Note also that this applied to GREP Styles in a paragraph style.

                        I have installed the latest version of Indesign using creative cloud. I used to have CS6 installed and it was no problem then. Now when i try to launch the application it just suddenly shuts down after "starting up panels" is shown.
                        No error message. Just stop launching. What to do?

                          • InDesign False Ligatures Bug

                            InDesign sometimes, seemingly randomly, replaces pairs such as hn, il, io, sy, ek, etc. with completely wrong glyph, such as accented Y, U, etc., when regular Ligature setting is applied. This has been a problem since CS5 and we recently had it occur in CC2015, so it is still there. Affected fonts have been many over the years, including licensed Adobe fonts. Fonts can be Open Type or PostScript. Language setting can be English US, UK, or seemingly anything else.                             • Indesign CC 2019 crashes on startup.

                              Windows 10 1809 on Microsoft Surface Book, InDesign CC 2019 executable version 14.0.1.209 crashes on launch after displaying splash screen. Crash reports have been sent. No obvious related entries in Windows Application or System logs. Other CC applications appear fine.
                              Rolled back to v13, same crashes.
                              Please advise, I have some deadlines.

                                • AIGPUSniffer quit unexpectedly every time I launch Indesign CC 14.0.1

                                  I am using Indesign CC14.0.1 on a MAC - OS Mojave V 10.14.1
                                  Whenever I launch Indesign I get a crash pop up saying AIGPU Sniffer has quit unexpectedly.
                                  Indesign is fine to work in however I am fed up with this AIGPU issue coming up all the time and don't know if it is effecting anything else?
                                  I've had loads of issues with the latest CC - really not impressed Adobe! Any suggestions on how to stop this happening?

                                      • Can't drag objects

                                        I am unable to drag objects/textbox/etc in InDesign. I can resize using corner handles but I'm unable to click and drag object to desired location I've uninstalled, reinstalled, shutdown, restarted, cleared all settings, etc and nothing seems to work. I have never encountered this issue in all my years of using InDesign. Please help!

                                          Hello All,

                                          We would need more details from you all to help with our investigation into the issue. Please provide the information as mentioned below.

                                          1. OS Version?
                                          2. Are you able to resize the object which you are not able to drag?
                                          3. Is your Application Frame On or Off?
                                          4. Does is issue happen with a specific kind of Object, let’s say Text, Rectangle, graphic frame.

                                        • Mouse-click in menus becomes disabled

                                          InDesign 12.1.0.56; macOS Sierra 10.12.5; Magic Mouse

                                          The issue varies with any file. I have mostly seen this occur when in the Find/Change window, or when I try and select a font. My mouse will not be able to click (select) anything in the drop down menus. I am able to select with my keyboard by using the arrows and "return" key. To get the mouse to click (select) an option from a drop down menu, I must first restart InDesign and then open the same file.

                                            We have tried to replicate the issue at our end but have not been able to, so far.
                                            We need your help to investigate what could be causing this.
                                            When you encounter this issue, quit InDesign and copy the Preferences and Cache to a shared location (like Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc.) and share the link with us.
