Text disappears.
>>>Entire page of text disappears randomly. InDesign provided a temporary fix and then a more permanent one in the most recent update. Worked for awhile. Has started happening again. Have to use revert key to get back text and start over.

AI Generated Alt Text Overriding Manual Alt Text
>>I have Generative AI disabled on my Mac and had manually entered alt-text on 2 images. Another user in my organisation, who had not disabled it, made some minor text amends on my file and my atl-text was overwritten.
>>I feel that any image that already has alt-text manually added should not be altered by this feature.
>>Also it would be good that when the feature is turned on it could have an option to only affect images added to the Articles Panel as that is the most common way of setting the tag order.

[ID-4255452] Text variables with modification date not working when saved to Cloud.
>>I created a text variable to update the date when the document is modified. When I opened my document in the beta version of InDesign, the text frame for my text variable was empty. I tried to re-enter the variable, and I tried making a new variable. When I selected a variable that included the current date, it would not appear. I created a Modification Date text variable and a custom text variable based on the Modification date. They appeared correctly. I saved the InDesign doc to the cloud. Once I applied a paragraph style, the text disappeared in

InDesign crashes when deleting pages from multiple files
>>This doesn't happen on every single file, but it happens probably once a week or so. I will need to delete anywhere from a couple pages to a couple hundred pages in an InDesign file, and when I try to delete those pages, InDesign will freeze and crash.
>>The option in Preferences to add pages to the end of the Story Editor is not checked on, so that isn't causing it.
>>The issue will persist even if I save the file as an idml and open in older CC versions. Thank heavens I still have my

Text engine buffer breaks if text contains diacritics
>>I regularily edit pages with fairly long text in Icelandic, a language which uses diacritics quite a bit. If the text gets to be more than a few hundred words, the text engine buffer starts acting up, especially when using accents. It will enter two or more accents in addition to the intended accented letter, sometimes mangling the order of letters too, always being laggy too. This is NOT a new problem, but I feel it has become much more pronounced in CC 2018.
>>In the attached screenshot the intended text "fréttastjóra að gefa því" has appeared as

images oversized on text import

> I work on educational books. Text comes in Word files.
> Almost every time I place a Word file with graphics, the graphics show up HUGE. Some are so big, the only way I've been able to deal with is create a huge file, open the text box up to include every bit of space.
> Today... the only size that would allow me to see the graphic was 400p x 400p!>Not an isolated issue. I receive Word files from multiple sources, and every Word

InDesign still crashing when saving to external server folder/alias
>>I updated to the new version of InDesignCC 2018 this morning (the November '17 update, version 13.0.1). Supposedly this was supposed to fix the Save/Save as crash but I just took the same steps as before and the crash is still happening. The steps are as follows:
…
> 1. Create new document
> 2. Save As
> 3. Select folder within our shared folder (this is linked to another computer, the other computer is the "momma" so to speak in that its part of the hard drive of the other Mac (version 10.12.6). I am also running Mac version13 votesHello All,
Please update to the latest version of InDesign, Id 13.1 for the fix of the problem.

indesign 16.0 - new bug - text-wrap with image not correct
>>>If i place an image into a frame and set text-wrap on that frame, it works correct and text breaks fine. If however i set the same text-wrap on the image (double click image or select content) instead of the frame, it will not wrap the text at the correct width. See attached screenshot.
>1 voteThe values that are shown in the Text Wrap panel & also the Frame Fitting Options dialog for Crop amounts relate to the inherent image size, not to the size it appears within InDesign – that is, they refer to the image as though it were placed at 100% scale. That means it’s based on the image resolution and the scaling at which it is placed.
To see how this works, when you place an image, just click on the document – it will come at its 100% scale. Now select the Image contents, open the Text Wrap panel, and input 30mm in one of the fields, the value will be correct. Now scale down the image contents to 50% of its size – now measure the text wrap – it will be roughly 15mm in size.Hope it helps.

Multiple spaces between words
>>>No idea just a simple bug report, but first your system places multiple adds in the process of getting to this point. Second I'm not interested in playing games with your process, I do not have time. NOW, here is the problem:
>>While copying text from >https://www.easa.europa.eu/sites/default/files/dfu/EasyAccessRules_for_AirOperations-Oct2019.pdf> on the while on the internet and pasting into InDesign I get one or two spaces between the words. I then have to remove the spaces manually. I'm working with a lot of information and do not need to take the time removing the spaces.

crash font style
>>>Unfortunately, the Mac crashes when you want to create a new character format in Indesign. I deleted the default settings and restarted Indesign -Mac. But unfortunately that didn't help.
>1 voteTo identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.
If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

Accessibility Alternate Text Issues in Acrobat
>>The file is designed where certain graphic elements are grouped together to make editing easier for others. In this case, horizontal dividers are made from two basic rectangles and a text box, grouped together.
>>Each rectangle shape is tagged as "horizontal divider" in the export options for accessibility. When I export to PDF and run the full accessibility check, I'm told that the group failed the "figures alternate text" test.
>>I then apply alternate text to the group in the export options. I run the full accessibility check in Acrobat and I am told that everything inside

drop shadow issues

[ID-4257175]Pages Panel: Buttons are hidden behind page number text when window is thin
