corner options
InDesign 16.3 CC download, Win64: In previous versions of InDesign I could select a text or image box, open the 'corner options' drop-down list, and arrow/scroll through the options to see the effect of each on the selected box. In InDesign CC, I can arrow through the list but no effects are shown on the selected box. Instead, it takes 12 clicks to re-open and then select the next of the six options. I have posted this problem in the community, with responses from Bill Silbert and Steve Werner. They have concurred that it's a Bug.

How to clear round corner options
Recently I have set-up a corner options to drag rectangles with a specific round corner. Now I want to drag regular rectangles, with no round corners anymore. But when drag new rectangles they all have round corners.
Note that I have already set the corner option to 0 in the Corner options panel (Object menu). But nothing changes.
Can somebody help me ?1 vote -
cannot scroll to preview corner options
InDesign 16.3 CC download, Win64: In previous versions of InDesign I could select a text or image box, open the 'corner options' drop-down list, and arrow/scroll through the options to preview the effect of each on the selected box. In InDesign CC, I can arrow through the list but no previews are shown on the selected box. Instead, it takes 12 clicks to re-open and select each of the six options. I have posted this problem in the community, with responses from Bill Silbert and Steve Werner. They concur that it's an InDesign/Windows Bug.

Corner Options remove the Inset Spacing on a Text Box
When you create a text box with an inset spacing, if you apply a corner option, the insert spacing is removed.
To fix it, all you got to do is go to the Text Frame Options and add the inset spacing again, but it would be great if it didn't get removed in the first place.

[ID-4257734]When you place an object with ‘Corner Options’ and ‘Text Wrap (Wrap around object shape)’ on a frame, the text moves.
Checked on Windows 10 Japanese version, InDesign CS5 to CC2024
1.Create a new document
2.Create a frame grid with the Horizontal Grid Tool
3.Insert a few line breaks at the beginning and assign sample text
4.Draw a rectangle with the Rectangle Tool
5.Set the shape in Corner Options to anything other than ‘None’
6.Set the text wrap to ‘Wrap around object shape’
7.When the drawn rectangle is placed on the frame, it is pushed out by one characterIt’s strange that the text moves even though the rectangle is not placed on top of the text.
Conditions for the object…

Text frame options: Individual inset spacing when rounded corners are enabled
Currently the text frame options do not allow different inset spacing on each side if a rounded corner is applied to the text frame.
We are trying to create a template that has a text box with a gradient background and a rounded corner that bleeds off the page. We need to set the inset to push the inset spacing on one side further than the rest to fit within the page margins, but with the rounded corner this is not possible.

Inversed Rounded Corners Don't Match on All Sides
When using the Inverse Rounded Corners in Corner Options, the corner shape doesn't match another box right next to it with the same settings when side by side. So when 2 boxes with the same corner options are next to each other it doesn't make a circle in the empty space but rather an angled rounded rectangle. It seems the top left and bottom right are one way and the top right and bottom left are another. It doesn't matter if the boxes are the same size or different. This issue was present in both InDesign 2020 and…

Unequal inset values in an Object Style don't display in a text frame if corners are rounded
If you use an object style with unequal inset spacing and apply it to a text frame, the unequal spacing is ignore and made uniform.
Steps to recreate:
1. Create an Object Style
2. Go to 'Text Frame General Options' for that style
3. Set unequal values for 'Inset Spacing'
4. Go to 'Stroke & Corner Cptions'
5. In 'Corner Options' set 'Rounded'
6. Create a Text Frame
7. Fill Text Frame with placeholder text
8. Apply Object Style to Text FrameResult: unequal inset spacing is ignored.
If you apply unequal inset spacing manually there are…
10 votesIt is not possible to have unequal inset spacing and corners other than none as they can’t go together.
It is designed this way.—

Round corner appearance from InDesign 2018 file is changing, when open it on InDesign 2020 version
We are moving from InDesign 2018 to InDesign 2020 version.
Expecting that all previous files created in InDesign 2018 version should open correctly in later version without any design or font changes.
We found an issue on Corner radius for Rectangular box. Changing the corner radius appearance when file opened in InDesign 2020, though showing same Corner radius settings both InDesign versions (see screenshots).
Need a fix to open the files correctly in InDesign 2020 version also, without manual changing, as hundreds of files created previously with different corner radius.2 votes -

Text Frame Options, Baseline Options, First baseline, Offset setting not respected
InDesign is changing the Text Frame Options / First Baseline / Offset to the default on existing documents.
I open a document where nearly all my text boxes were set to "Cap Height" and they have all been turned to "Ascent" and now no longer fit in their text boxes. I have to open a Text Frame Options, click Baseline Options tab, and pull down the First Baseline, Offset to Cap height FOR EVERY PAGE, (after selecting all and changing to the direct selection tool)!5 votes -
import options are collapsed (CC2017)
when importing a file, the import options are collapsed, so you always have to check if the "import options" are marked. can reproduce. should be uncollapsed like the versions before.

eyedropper options
I'm using InDesign 2020 and lately when I (accidentally) double click the eyedropper tool in the toolbar, it opens the Eyedropper Options window. There's an "OK" and "Cancel" button. When I click on either I can't close the window. It stays in the foreground in all applications. I can move it around, but not close it. The only way I've been able to get rid of the window is to force quit InDesign.

Wrong use of German term »Nutzen« in the PDF export options dialogue
The term »Nutzen« is not used correctly as this usually refers to how many units of a design you put onto a printing sheet.
What it should read in the options is simply »Doppelseite« or »Doppelseite fortlaufend« or »Doppelseite (Deckblatt)« or »Doppelseite fortlaufend (Deckblatt). The term »Nutzen« should be omitted completely.

Please update to this new version of InDesign to get the fix.—

When attempting to 'crop' the INDD window size from bottom rt-corner, the the document's image
When attempting to taper the (Mac) INDD window's size from bottom rt-corner, the document layout ALWAYS "runs away" from the user (to the upper left direction)… making it impossible to get the doc's layout centred within the window, first time. This is UNLIKE any other Mac application… and is a source of constant frustration!

"paragraph style options" window size
Paragraph Style Options window opens bigger than my screen (regardless of the size screen I'm working on) and there is no way to resize the window or set the default size of the window? In order to work with Paragraph Styles, I am constantly having to move the window around so I can see all the options there, then move it again to see the preview in my document.
WHY CAN'T WE RESIZE THIS WINDOW? There's no reason it needs to be this large; most of the space is blank.
