More than 10 page spreads.
Allow the user to connect much more than 10 pages together in InDesign. I would like this so I can organize a large document with many pages. I am creating a digital book about plant taxonomy and would like to organize the pages this ways so that I can easily navigate this large document taxonomically while in the program. The pages will be printed individually so the layout in the document is not for the printing process but for organization.

allow to navigate between book files with PgUp and PgDn
F.e. hitting PgDn at end of opened document which is in book should open next document in book on 1st page or switch to 1st page of next document if already opened.
Obviously it should works with PgUp at start of document.Just like it works in Framemaker.

Clearer comment navigation in share for review
click on a comment and have the comments panel scroll to the comment clicked, make the active comment highlight more visible and don't unmap comments when the text is deleted but delete the comments with the text.

Publish Online
Option for making navigation button NOT ANIMATED, maybe even larger. I recently had a huge project rejected because client did not know how to navigate and assumed others would have the same problem. (URL to project was embedded in button in email campaign--works great!)

Implement smooth(er) scrolling on Windows
This may well go hand-in-hand with the GPU acceleration request. Currently, mouse-wheel scrolling is stepped I fairly large increments, even when using a high-end pointing device such as the Logitech MX Master 3. This makes for significant fatigue when navigating a large document.
The behavior in MacOS, even without GPU acceleration enabled is a LOT better. Please add some kind of control over the incriment size at least, or idially a truely 'smooth' experience. Illurtrator and Photoshop are much much better, but I spend my life in InDesign. Affinity Publisher on Windows has managed it.

Reach master page from the page document via ctrl/right click
This is something that’s brilliantly done in Muse, and not so complicate to add as a feature in inDesign, because everything is already there.
When you’re in Muse, in « design mode », you can right/ctrl click anywhere on any page to wether apply a Master or reach the applied master.
In Muse, the « plan mode » (which is inDesign’s pages panel) is usually in another window, complicate to reach, but nonetheless, in inDesign, that could help new users to get what a master page is.
Reason : most of the time, I don’t want to have my pages…

Option to turn hard coded navigation arrows on and off
I would love to be able to turn the prev next arrows off when not required. They can interfere with the design appearance of a publication.
It made it worse when Adobe made the arrows even thicker!
It should be easy to do for Adobe. Again Ajar In5 can do this. Indesign should be able to do it natively1 vote -
Export HTML keep set names for text anchors
When exporting to HTML, the process removes all text anchor naming from InDesign and renames them chronologically (e,g. _idTextAnchor002). This is very frustrating when you want to keep nice, logical names for user navigation, or set an anchor to be referenced externally. Currently, make new anchors links in the document changes other anchors links (i.e. if you place an anchor link between the 1st and 2nd link, that link takes on the id and name for the 2nd link, and all other links get pushed so 2nd becomes 3rd, 3rd becomes 4th). This is terrible if users what to share…

Adding a dedicated Opentype window to InDesign, as is available in Illustrator (Alt + Shift + Ctrl/Cmd + T)
I think it would be extremely helpful to add a dedicated Opentype window to InDesign, as is available in Illustrator.
Changing more than one setting for a typeface - for example, removing ligatures and then enabling tabular lining - requires more than one navigation through the sub-menu within Character/Paragraph.
It seems strange that this is not a standard window in InDesign when it is in Illustrator, being that InDesign is the standard application for creating text-heavy page layouts.

Please, please, please support Emacs-style key bindings...
...at least for macOS. Virtually all macOS apps, especially those developed by Apple, support Emacs-style key binding that are incredibly useful for text navigation and text selection purposes. As an almost daily use of InDesign—and a 26-year employee of Adobe—I would very much like to see this supported. Most of the commands involve the use of the "control" key, which appears to be unused for InDesign keyboard shortcuts, so this is likely to be a no-brainer.

Show page information in layout
I want the option to display a pagename and/or pagesize on top of pages. This would be very useful when designing several adds in the same ID-file, many with almost the same size. With the ability to name the pages it will be easier to navigate the file. I have attached an example.

Linked Docs: Seeing where the children of a linked item is from the parent document
File A is linked to B, C, D, and E (the children)
I want to see that information while looking at file A (the parent).Currently, we can only see the link path when the child is selected.
Example: I have used the content placer to link a block of text into 4 documents. I want to see which 4 documents that block of text is linked to while in the parent document. That way I can quickly navigate to those 4 documents rather than searching through hundreds to sync up any updates later.

Make "Notes" icons easier to see in layout view
It would be helpful to have an option to highlight the "Notes" icons in the layout when people want to see where they are located. They are often almost impossible to see and need the palette to be navigable. An option called "Highlight Notes in Layout" possibly.

Make Table of Contents menu robust and intuitive
Make Table of Contents intuitive. It's a powerful tool, and yet difficult to set up even for an experienced user. The navigate the setup menu is static but closes every time. The explanations are poor, and impossible to navigate without watching a bunch of tutorials (and the user manual is not helpful either). Because the layout formating is done in paragraph styles it's difficult to know what and where to change to get a specific result. This software is supposed to make creating a long document easy and yet formatting a TOC requires so much pre-knowledge without any directions in…

Option to turn off auto centre when selecting layers
When selecting objects in my layers panel, my screen jumps to that object. This is not what I want. No way. Never.
Sometimes i go through my layers and select them to see what they are especially if they aren't named. But i don't want to navigate to them automatically! If i have zoomed in and am looking at a particular object, there is no way i want some automatic feature to take me away to a different part of the document - just so i have to zoom out and go back to where i was focusing on.

Show/Hide global baseline and textframe baseline individually
It would be nice to be able to show/hide the global baseline and textframe baseline individually. At the moment they are turned on and off together which can be pretty hard to navigate.

Enhancements Needed for InDesign's Font and Shortcut Menus
- Search Functionality in Keyboard Shortcut Settings
In Photoshop, the keyboard shortcut settings include a search function that facilitates quick navigation through extensive menus. Implementing a similar feature in InDesign would streamline workflow efficiency.
- Improved Font Menu Navigation
The current font dropdown menu displays a limited number of typefaces, necessitating extensive scrolling. Expanding the dropdown to utilize the full screen height would allow more fonts to be visible simultaneously, reducing the need for excessive scrolling.
Additionally, when searching for a font, the cursor defaults to the top of the menu, highlighting the last used font. Positioning the cursor directly at the…

A preset to limit your FONT view to preferred language, such as the one chosen by OS/region.
I have to use Noto Sans; Its required by my work at my University.
Is there a way to limit your font view to preferred language chosen by OS/region. My font menu is a mess of languages and it's hard to navigate to choose just "Noto Sans." Try it... really.. Try and Type "Noto Sans"... I never get the one I type it's always one of the other languages versions.
- So when a user choose their working language, InDesign offer them the right set of font.
Font lists are wayyyy tooooooo long to contain all the wolds languages by default!…
