How Can I Preserve Image Quality When Converting Slides to PDF?
I’m having trouble keeping image quality high when converting my presentation slides to PDF. Every time I export or print to PDF, the images become blurry or grainy. I already tried using the survival race “Print to PDF” option, but the resolution still drops noticeably.
Does anyone know the best settings or tools to preserve image quality in PDFs?

Export to pdf as print spreads with options for bleed, different binding, etc.
This option should have been baked in from the beginning because when print shops request print spreads we have no easy way to convert since distiller is no longer up to the tast.

"Print Booklet" needs option to export to pdf instead of just postscript
Print designers need the option to export as print spreads, which is currently only available as a postscript file. Adobe's distiller is no longer up to the task of easily converting files to pdf, plus it's an extra step that should be built in natively to InDesign. Yes, many printers do this after receiving your file but some print shops ask for print spreads to be delivered to them. This should have been baked into a print layout program from the beginning.

Generative AI - Alt Text and other AI Features
These features should be turned off by default. Most users do not want generated content being automatically inserted into production documents without review or approval. If users do want AI assistance, it should be opt-in, with clear choices such as:
Generate descriptions for all images
Generate descriptions for selected images only
Approve descriptions on a case-by-case basisI do not think automatically inserting generated content into live production files is a good approach.
In real-world workflows especially regulated, accessibility, publishing, legal, pharmaceutical, or corporate environments every word often needs to be reviewed, approved, and sometimes audited. AI-generated alt text can…

Glyphs panel
Is there a way to fix the font selection drop down menu in InDesign so that it does not scroll out of the InDesign UI? I have limited room on my desk to set up my laptop with the second monitor so my laptop is setup in front of the second monitor instead of side-by-side. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to use the glyphs panel. It scrolls off of the second monitor onto my laptop screen and keeps on going off of my laptop screen. I've attached a screenshot to show what I am referring to.

InDesign Import and Export
It would be most helpful to me since I design books, tear-sheets, posters, newsletter that are made fore print and are shown on the web too. Import - When we have a form in PDF format that is asked to be shown, instead of placing it directly into InDesign file it doesn't work, we need to place JPGS instead. Exporting these products that are for print as web format SVG is impossible! Web service requires SVG for catalogue, everything I make can be deigned in Illustrator but arranged in InDesign, but if I export as EPS then open it into…

Remove all alt text
Like everyone, I was affected by the recent bug masquerading as a feature that added a ton of unwelcome AI alt text to every image that I didnt ask for and don't need. Now I have to go through image by image if I want it all out? One of these documents has over 2000 links. I NEED a way to remove all alt text easily. I didn't want it to begin with! Shameful this "feature" shipped at all, let alone without an easy undo! Are you THAT desperate to get your AI adoption number up? Guess so!

Layer configuration export
Title: Option to Disable Specific Layers During PDF Export (Without Changing Document Visibility)
Description:
In many editorial workflows, especially in educational publishing, we work with layered documents that contain both student and teacher content within the same InDesign file.
A common use case is:
- A "Student Version" (without answers)
- A "Teacher Version" (with answers)
Currently, to export the student version, users must manually open each document and disable the "Answers" (or similar) layer before exporting. This becomes extremely time-consuming and error-prone when dealing with dozens or hundreds of files.
Feature Request:
Add an option in the PDF export settings that…

Allow text to show outside of the text frame when the last item in a Flex Layout
When a text box is used in a Flex Layout in a vertical orientation and is the last item, any letters that render below the base line (aka descenders -> y, j, p, q), the flex box trims the text making these letters unreadable. The only workaround is manually extending the text box height to include the descender. However, when done, this affects the spacing of the Flex Layout.
In a situation where you have individual items (example- a list of events) you want a uniform spacing between the event title, date, time, and location replicated across multiple events. For…

Share for Review Custom Settings
I haven't used this feature long, but it seems to be lacking features that designers use throughout the review process.
There's no option to use custom PDF settings.
When my clients are reviewing PDFs, they are expecting to see something that is print or screen ready. They expect the images to look sharp and the colors to be correct. I've developed a number of custom PDF export settings. Everything from including crop marks, how many and which pages to export, export pages as spreads or single pages, include slug to show notes I may have made, customize the amount of…

Make custom interactive elements keep their shape when exported to Interactive PDF
If you have a custom interactive element (in the shape of a letter, a circle, triangle, etc.) and export it to an interactive PDF, it converts the custom shape into a square or rectangle every time. Make it so that whatever shape you set in your indesign document is properly mapped and retained in an exported interactive PDF. It would make a good interactive photo mask. I use circles as interactive elements in Indesign directly but it doesn't work when exported. Would be a great feature to have!

Option to turn off Export your document to Adobe Express using the option under File > Export to Adobe Express.
I would like to be able to turn off the Blue Popup Boxes that appear when I export pdf files. I have no use for Adobe Express, so telling me about it every time is distracting. Having a checkbox to disable these messages would be handy, or an option in preferences either.
Option to turn off Export your document to Adobe Express using the option under File > Export to Adobe Express.

Split “Hyphenate Across Columns” into Separate Options
Please split the current Hyphenate Across Columns option into separate settings:
- Hyphenate Across Columns
- Hyphenate Across Text Frames
- Hyphenate Across Pages
- Hyphenate Across SpreadsThese are different typographic cases. In many layouts, hyphenation only needs to be prevented across spreads, sometimes across pages, while it should remain allowed across columns and text frames.

Split Hyphenate Capitalized Words into Two Separate Options
Please split the current Hyphenate Capitalized Words option into two separate settings:
- Hyphenate ALL-CAPS words
- Hyphenate Words Beginning with a Capital LetterThese are different typographic cases. Acronyms and all-caps abbreviations often should not be hyphenated, while proper names or capitalized words in titles may need normal hyphenation.

Add Keep With Previous/Next Rows to Cell Styles
It is often necessary to keep a subtotal row together with one or two preceding rows, or to keep a subtitle/header row together with one or two following rows.
This is already possible manually via the Keep With option in Cell Options, but having it available as a Cell Style option would make table formatting much more efficient and consistent.1 vote -
How do I remove first-line indent for only the first paragraph?
Hi everyone,Escape Tsunami for Brainrots
I’m struggling with a formatting issue and can’t seem to fix it.
I want the first paragraph to have no indent, but all following paragraphs to keep the standard indentation (like in professional manuscripts or books).
I’ve tried:
Edit Format → Settings → Paragraph first line indents
Options like “Remove from first paragraph and after empty lines”
Different compile settingsBut nothing seems to work, even after changing styles.

Add draft # or suffix to Share for Review
Just as title says.
I'm always re-labelling the share for review file manually, but it'd be nice if there was a different option for version control.
Say the ability to add a suffix that was a drop down option of letter/number like we have when we go to export things and then the ability to also set it to increase automatically or set to change it manually. This field would just add the suffix to the Title name OR be used as a infographic somewhere in the reviewer to show the draft count...
Could be a little bit of a…
