  2. Footnotes Issue

    Dear Sir or Madame,

    since the automatic End-/footnotes have been implemented in indesign we have critical issues working with the program.
    We are a publishing company with several designers and do also publications with different languages (CC2014 was the last version, which worked without problems, as there have not yet been automatic footnotes).
    If we have a publication/book with two or more languages we work with different layers in indesign – for each language one layer. The problem starts, when we have also footnotes to work with. After finishing the layout in the first language, we have to duplicate…

  4. Share for Review broken in Chrome for Reviewers InDesign 16.1

    share for review worked for me in Chrome from my own account, but when I shared it with another user, the link did not allow them to open the review in their version of Chrome. Firefox and Safari worked fine.

  5. Swipe gesture not working in Android Chrome.

    Swipe gesture not working in Android Chrome.

    Among the contents of the above page, "Smoother page transitions with swipe gesture improvements" is specified.

    However, the swipe gesture function works normally in IOS-based browsers, but does not work in Android-based browsers (Chrome).

    Very inconvenient for Android based customers/clients.

    To go to the next page, touch the bottom of the screen to bring up the navigation menu/button that disappears every time, and then press the "next page button". The customer/client should repeat this behavior on every page.

    This is a very serious bug and must be fixed asap.

  6. ADOBE INDESIGN AND ILLUSTRATOR COMPATABILITY ISSUE

    In Adobe indesign, if we decreased Horizontal scale in Indesign and saving that template and generate PDF. If we open the same generated PDF in Adobe illustrator font size is decreasing and vertical scale is increasing and horizontal scale showing 100%. I think It's totally mis-matching with indesign and illustrator. Not only this we're facing many issues like this i.e resizing issue for example if label size is "50Wx100H" in indesign, same file showing in illustrator is 50Wx120H and some times more. Please help to fix this issue. It'll be helpful

  7. PDF Comments Unmapped / Adobe Indesign 2020, 15.0.1 (latest issue)

    2. Several files opened and attempted to edit with PDF markups. Have checked the PDF file in acrobat and correct.
    3. Comments should be mapped to identical document but are not.
    4. Most, if not all comments are unmapped (latest document completely unmapped - 50!!).

    In the latest version of InDesign, Id 14.0.3
    We have fixed multiple scenarios where the movement of objects was found to be slow.

    Please upgrade your InDesign application to the latest version to try out the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update yet, go to Creative Cloud desktop application, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right corner and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.

    If you face any problems with the new update, do let us know in the comments.

  9. InDesign performance issue: Slow interface

    The new document window is painfully slow. The pallets such as the background task pallet take some visible time to initialise themselves. As a whole the UI is always lagging.

    I'm on a new iMac Pro and this is completely unacceptable. It feels as though the interface is getting in the way instead of making work easier.

  10. PDF Exporting Issue - Linked EPS wrong color

    When exporting files created w/ Id CC 2018 13.0.1, some linked eps files appear in the PDF in a totally incorrect color. I've tried embedding the files and saving as an interactive PDF, to no avail. This has happened with multiple docs . Given this issue, I'm rendered unable to print any of my projects. Any insight appreciated!

  11. Indesign performance issue : slow opening, saving, exporting files

    InDesign taking up to 5 minutes to open a file. The file is a one-page document. Two minutes of nothing, then 2 minutes of a blue status bar, then another minute watching the tiny status bar on the application icon in the doc. Once the file is "open" it isn't visible until I toggle back and forth between InDesign and another application. Saving, even after changing only one text character, takes 55 seconds. Exporting a 30 page document to PDF took 20 minutes.

  12. Acrobat extension for Chrome renders sheared rectangles incorrectly in PDF exported from InDesign CC 2022 / 24

    Filled sheared rectangles in PDF documents exported from InDesign are rendered incorrectly in the Adobe Acrobat extension for Chrome, but displays as expected in other PDF readers [ Preview, Safari, Quickview, etc. ]. The sheared rectangles are displayed as a box of the fill colour with the outer bounds of the sheared shape. Adding a stroke suggests the sheared rectangle is preserved, but is not honoured by the fill.

    Work around: Adding an additional anchor point, or rounding the corners, appears to correct this issue.

  13. Publish Online - Hyperlink download lässt sich in Chrome nicht öffnen

    Hallo,
    hier wurde eine Diskussion zum Thema Publish Online und einem möglichen Bug geführt: https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/indesign-interaktiv-hyperlinks/m-p/13042834

    Es geht darum, dass integrierte Download Hyperlinks in Publish Online in Chrome und Edge nicht richtig gedownloaded werden können.

    Die Downloadlinks an sich funktionieren (z.B. in Firefox) in Chrome und Edge öffnet sich leider nur ein leerer Tab und kein Download beginnt.

  14. Display issue

    Lines and slightly shifted objects. When I scroll up and down theses lines disappear and reappear elsewhere (=> screenshots 2 and 2B). Since the update to CC 2023, these display errors only appear in Indesign, not in other programs.

    Thank you everyone for your continued patience! Apple just released the macOS High Sierra 10.13 Supplemental Update. This will fix the cursor issue with InDesign on macOS High Sierra. Please go to the App Store to update.

  16. Linked Image Canvas Resampling Pixelated Issue

    When a linked image canvas size greatly exceeds the image frame size, the linked image is pixelated in both the InDesign preview and the PNG export. JPG exports do not exhibit this issue.

    Please note in the attached images two different linked PSD files. The file on left is cropped to the extent of the rasterized letter 'a'. In the file on the right, the rasterized 'a' has the same pixel dimensions as the first, but the Photoshop document canvas is much larger. This results in a poorly resampled PNG export.

  17. Recurring connectivity issue with InDesign

    Hi Support Team,

    We are experiencing a recurring connectivity issue with Adobe InDesign. The same error message has appeared again, and I’m unable to open the program. My internet connection seems to be working properly, so I don’t believe that’s the cause of the problem.

    My Adobe membership/subscription is still active, and all other Adobe applications are functioning normally. This suggests that the issue isn’t related to the license itself.

    Could you please advise on what might be causing this and how to resolve it?

    First logout from your creative cloud client, reboot your computer (cold boot) and then login with your Adobe ID again.

    If this doesn't help try to reset the CC app by following the steps below:

    Bring the CC app in the foreground the press:

    • Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
    • Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

    If this doeswn't help try the steps below:

    • Sign out from the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application (Sign in and sign out to activate Creative Cloud apps)
    • Browse to the location: [System Drive]:\ProgramData\Adobe
    • Rename the 'SLStore' folder to 'SLStore_old'
    • Browse to the location: [System Drive]:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    • Rename the 'SLCache' folder to 'SLCache_old'
    • Sign in to the Adobe CC desktop app

    You may also try below steps:

    Close all Adobe apps and make sure no Adobe processes are running in Task Manager.

  18. Slow Performance issue in the InDesign application

    Very Slow Performance

    Yes, InDesign is extremely slow today 2020-06-19, almost unusable, even many months after being discovered.
    The most worrying is that it seems that this bug was discovered in September 2019.

    As David wrote 2019-09-04: “Almost every action from selecting objects, resizing objects, or moving objects comes with a really slow reaction time”.

    Behaviour:

    InDesign freezes, and my cursor starts spinning around (CPU jumps to 95-98%) for almost 30-45 seconds before I can continue with next command.
    The behaviour is random, but when it starts working slow, then it continues. It usually happens when I open two InDesign…

    Many internal as well as external factors can cause the InDesign application to perform poorly.

    We completed the investigation and came up with the following: Either the issue has been resolved in the most recent release of InDesign (Refer to InDesign Release notes), the issue was intermittent at the time of reporting and is no longer reproducible, or the InDesign version mentioned in the report is no longer covered by Creative Cloud Support Policy.

    We would recommend you upgrade to the latest version as it is more robust. If you are still facing this issue even after updating it, create a new UserVoice thread or Contact Adobe support.

  19. Animation issue on page load

    Hi,
    The issue is in the attached document.
    This problem is there for the CC 2018-2019 & 2020 Versions.
    Not sure why its taking years to fix this. Hope it will be addressed soon.

  20. Selection Tool cursor disappear issue

    Reposting this issue from Beta Version as it has not been resolved
    I am using Indesign Prelease 16.3
    Cursor disappears after period of inactivity.
    Cursor will appear if hovering over an object, otherwise invisible.
    A restart will resolve this which is not ideal
