Indesign performance issue : slow opening, saving, exporting files
InDesign taking up to 5 minutes to open a file. The file is a one-page document. Two minutes of nothing, then 2 minutes of a blue status bar, then another minute watching the tiny status bar on the application icon in the doc. Once the file is "open" it isn't visible until I toggle back and forth between InDesign and another application. Saving, even after changing only one text character, takes 55 seconds. Exporting a 30 page document to PDF took 20 minutes.

Yup. 2021 version here. Takes forever to open, has to find multiple "linked files" even when no images are present. Currently, it's been 30 minutes and it still hasn't saved an IDML version. Yes, I have more than enough memory & CPU power in my system. There's just something really funky & wrong about the latest versions that makes e v e r y t h i n g t a k e f o r e v e r.

This is not fixed in the latest version current to today's date (November 12, 2020). Super slow when saving files.

So, recently - in past 2 months, when saving a file it takes about 10-15 seconds before the save feature even begins (seems like indesign freezes up - this also happens when trying to cut text - right click and wait 10-15 seconds before the option to cut even appears) - before it was an instant click save or right & click cut. This has become very frustrating - to have to sit and wait for indesign to save the file.
Would love for this to go back to the quick and painless version....

InDesign absolutely useless at present. 8 page all text newsletter takes forever to open and nothing works even after it does. Can't edit. FIX!!!!!!

This is present for the first time for me with the newest updates. Files that used to work when opened at the same time now lag and drag between steps. Close one file, everything is fine. Running on a 32gb PC with upgrade video card and SSD, so there shouldn't be any issue and wasn't before the newest updates.
I've deleted indesign, gotten rid of the settings, deleted all of CC, and ran the Cleaner Tool and nothing helps.

This is still a problem for me using the most up-to-date version (15.0.1).

Hello,
It seemed to be fixed.
But it is not.
Since a few days, InDesign is very slow again, hanging up and showing the spinning wheel for long moments.
Be really serious and fix this.
As prefessionnals, we have many things to do raher than watching the spinning wheel. -

JUST UPGRADED TO OS X MOJAVE, and now InDesign has slowed down, especially 1) opening a document and 2) saving a document. Is Adobe aware of this?

Absolutely useless. Clicking on the file menu causes a spinning wheel for 2 minutes. Trying to export a PDF takes anywhere from 10-60 minutes. This is extremely annoying and makes it impossible to use this program for professional work.
