Linked Image Canvas Resampling Pixelated Issue
When a linked image canvas size greatly exceeds the image frame size, the linked image is pixelated in both the InDesign preview and the PNG export. JPG exports do not exhibit this issue.
Please note in the attached images two different linked PSD files. The file on left is cropped to the extent of the rasterized letter 'a'. In the file on the right, the rasterized 'a' has the same pixel dimensions as the first, but the Photoshop document canvas is much larger. This results in a poorly resampled PNG export.

Wondering if there is a fix to this issue Adobe?
I'm still experiencing the problem and now it's cost me money as it's not showing as an issue in the Links panel but doesn't display or export correctly. This is costing money on reprints.Running:
Indesign 18.3
Mac Studio with Ventura 13.3.1
(although I have had this issue on previous versions of indesign and OS) -
