Copying text frames results in pasted PDF
>>>Copying text frames from older versions of InDesign (example 2022 to 2025 – v.20.1) results in a pdf frame, meaning the text is uneditable. The only workaround I have discovered is to copy the text itself, paste it into the new document, and reformat the frame. I believe the discussion posted here - >https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/indesign-locking-text-frames-with-old-id-files/m-p/15147987> – is referring to the same issue.

[Break in CC 2018] Text frame properties lost when copying and pasting frames across document
>>>I have a document that uses top justification in a text frame, and bottom justification in another text frame. When I copy these frames, with or without any other objects, into a new document (think business card imposition), the bottom justification changes to top justification, altering the layout of the document.

Adding text to "chained" anchored textframes causing complete crash when text is added to one of the first three frames
>>Indesign 2020, Version 15.0.1, iMac with Mac OS 10.15.1:
>>We have hundreds of documents created in Indesign 2019 with "chained" anchored textframes, sometimes 4, sometimes 5 frames in a row. Frames are set to automatical height adjust. When text is added to one of the first three frames causing the frame to become higher than before Indesign chrashes completely without warning. Adding text to frame 4 or 5 does NOT create a crash! Same files work perfectly under Indesign 2019. Problem occured with first version of Indesign 2020, and remains after recent update.

Copying multiple objects and switching documents causes InDesign to crash every single time.
>>>Copying multiple objects and switching documents causes InDesign to crash every single time. Copying text from inside of a box or copying a single object doesn't seem to cause the crash to happen.

delete text crash
>>Opened and made a copy (Save As) of an existing doc in ID 17.4, moved to ID 18 when it became available. Replaced about 2/3 of the existing material with new text or images. Found one specific text box that crashed when I tried to delete it. Tried deleting the text in the box, another crash. Tried deleting text in chunks, and got down to just one letter that was causing the crash.
>>Fix not required. This is a result of regularly importing Word docs from other people. (The proof is the document recovery notice:

lowercase u key not working in text frames

>>When I do press the u key, the line reverts back to the Basic Paragraph formatting, but I'm not able to find any shortcut that refers to this.

primary text frames threading is not honored on document pages
>- >
- >Adobe InDesign 15.0.1 x64 (Windows 10) >
- >Facing pages document. I create a master page that includes two text frames per page--creating a two column spread on each page. I designate the leftmost frame as the primary text frame, and then manually link it to the frame just to its right. That frame is then linked to the leftmost frame on the right side page, and that one is linked to the frame furthest to the right. So the frames are linked, from left to right: frame 1 is primary, which is linked to frame 2, then to

Text has Overrides when copy/pasted within the same text frame
>>>This is with regards to InDesign 13.1
>
> As you can see in the screenshot, when I copy a text and put it in the same text frame (same paragraph style) it automatically has an override.
> Hovering over the name of the paragraph style does not show the deviation, but right-clicking allows to clear all overrides (which successfully removes them).>It is quite annoying to get an override every time I copy text or a text frame.
