  1. Scratch Disk option

Give InDesign a Scratch Disk option like Photoshop and Illustrator. It consumes far too much memory and runs too slowly on Windows 7.

  2. Please make pinch to zoom work on Surfacebook Windows 10.

Pinch to zoom simply doesn't work on any adobe apps on when using a Surfacebook. It can work in Photoshop if you turn off two finger scrolling, but that's it. It's incredible annoying, and as someone coming from a Mac, it's killing my workflow. Please fix this.

  3. Put the Stroke Styles in the Styles section of the Windows menu

It's so simple, and so obvious.
No one knows there are Stroke Styles (and brilliant ones) until some one tells them to look under the side menu of the Stroke window...

  4. Improve the tabs window interface

No matter what size your text is or how much Iyou zoom in, when you open the tabs window to set or modify tabs, the window is WAY too small, and the little arrows to adjust the tabs WAY too fussy. It's almost impossible to grab the existing tab to move it over or even select it, and you end up creating 4 or 5 new tabs because you're clicking on the ruler trying to select an existing tab. I wait for this to improve with every update. Going in to my 25th year as a graphic designer, and I…

  6. Scroll document whilst Pop up window is visable (e.g Place)

When any pop up windows like Save/ Place/ Export is open it is useful to be able to scroll the document in background.

For example: In InDesign CS6 and you can scroll the document behind the Place pop-up window. In Adobe CC this function no longer works – which slows the design and layout process down.

This feature was especially useful when producing books with many images in.

The current Adobe InDesign CC workspace windows / palettes won't expand or aren't visible. I have to uninstall and reinstall to get them back and working. Please advise a fix? Or is this going to be fixed in the next app update? Thanks!

  8. Chromebook

Hello to the Adobe InDesign Geniuses! I write this with a heavy heart, I have been a mac holdout/Windows Defender when it comes to Adobe products (Photoshop) since the Mid 1990's If I had to guess, 1995 or 1996. I LOVE Adobe Products and have a huge distaste for mac. I am reaching a breaking point with Windows, they are trying to make an OS SOOO much more and constantly causing problems, I just had to re install windows on 5 computers due to the latest update that I have yet to have one Windows tech support expert…

  10. Enable easy batching of GREP Find/Change queries & expandable 'entry window'

    Hi there,

Rather than rely on third-party software (or convoluted scripts), there should be an option to batch GREP queries together in the Find/Change menu.

Also, it would be nice (for more extensive/complicated GREPs) to be able to expand the window in general (pertaining to both Find/Change's GREP tab and the equivalent menu for GREP styles elsewhere) when entering the expressions.

As an addendum to that last point, at the very least InDesign should have a built in (expandable) panel for copying and pasting complicated GREP syntax without having to worry about certain syntax items disappearing if copied and pasted…

  11. Enable utilization of graphics card

Why doesn't InDesign utilize my expensive graphics card? ****** performance surrounding display quality, and other performance issues. This software is much too expensive to be without GPU acceleration. This impacts thousands of user's daily workflow, wasting time we could be spending on design and inspiration research.

Before you release new, useless features that barely work, how about doing some real improvements to the software. Make InDesign (and the rest of the suite) properly utilize our expensive graphics cards.

In the meantime, (or nevertime, as it seems to be) be very clear in the hardware requirements that a graphics card is…

  13. Incorporate the feature for hyperlinks and buttons to open the clicked url in a new browser window.

Please can you incorporate the feature for hyperlinks and buttons to have the option to open the clicked url in a new browser window. I feel this is something that would be farely easy for a developer to introduce as a feature, that would greatly benefit alot of Designers that use Adobe InDesign to publish interactive pdfs online.

  14. InDesign, and all other CC apps, should be ported to Linux

Linux is more efficient and secure than Windows or macOS. It also often has greater hardware compatibility and resource management, which would be useful when dealing with large projects.

This would be valuable for many users seeking to get the most out of their hardware, or who work with 3D rendering tools best suited to Linux setups.

Adobe already has a Unix base with the macOS version - surely a Linux version isn't too much of a head-scratcher for the devs.

  15. Ability to assign a shortcut to [None] in the Character Styles window.

Because you sometimes want to REMOVE a character style and it would be very beneficial to be able to use a shortcut for that as well.

  16. Flash Player should not be required to play non-Flash video in PDFs

Currently Interactive PDFs exported from InDesign require Flash to be installed for videos to be viewed. This is true even when the video is an MP4, and when the settings in Acrobat are set so it uses the Windows/Mac native video player.

Non-Flash videos should not require a Flash player. The PDF 2.00 specification allows for media in Interactive PDFs... but with Flash going away in 2020 we need a solution to continue showing media files in PDFs.

  17. Hiding system fonts or warning about using them

Add system fonts in the unauthorized fonts of the preflight panel.
I work in the IT department of a press group; our users work on Mac, but we use a Windows InDesign Server solution to process PDF’s. Our users are warned that they should use only OTF fonts but some of them ignore these warnings.

The other solution would be to be able to hide system fonts in the font dropdown menu.

  18. Toggle through styles and narrow by search in paragraph/character/object style windows

The ability to go through all styles without leaving the Paragraph Style Options window. Like forward and back arrows. If you are editing multiple paragraph styles at a time (or character or object styles for that matter), currently you have to close out of the dialog box every time you want to toggle to a new style. It’d be nice to toggle or click through to the next style (alphabetically), or choose it from a drop-down menu.

Also. when you have a long list of styles, the ability to search for them by typing. Right now, you have to scroll.…

  19. Print the contents of the book window

I'm working on a very long document -- a book with about 300 component files (2-4 pp each). They're all in the book window... but once you're past two or three dozen files, the organization of the book window becomes difficult to view and comprehend. I'd like to print out the contents of the book window (PDF, CSV, spreadsheet, text, whatever) so that I can review what's there and see how best to organize it. The book window allows me to print out the book in different ways, and I can print portions of the book... but not that overview…

  20. Have InDesign remember the size of its application window from last time used

Have InDesign remember the size of its application window from when it was last used and have it open in that same size the next time used. Illustrator and Photoshop already do this...
