  2. Paragraph Style Panel Overrides

    THIS HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR YEARS NOW!

    Paragraph Overrides

    You used to be able to hover your mouse over a paragraph style in the paragraph style panel that had an override (plus sign). When you hovered over this style it would display a tool tip showing you what was overriding that style. This no longer works.

  3. # in URLs of Hyperlinks in Hyperlinks panel is substituted with %23 when opened in browser from panel

    Hi together,
    when working with hyperlinks with URL destination an URL like:

    https://wiki.selfhtml.org/wiki/HTML/Elemente/a#Siehe_auch

    will not be transferred to the browser as is when the menu command "Go to Destination" is used or if the "green" bullet in the panel is clicked that indicates a correct and connectable hyperlink destination.

    Instead character # will be substituted with %23 like that:

    https://wiki.selfhtml.org/wiki/HTML/Elemente/a%23Siehe_auch

    The implication could be two-fold:
    [1] The browser could show an 404 error
    [2] The browser could not navigate to the named anchor and the view of the page is showing the top part of the page.

  4. Links panel misreporting ICC profiles

    I would like the ICC column in the Links panel to actually show the ICC profile of the linked images. Right now it's misreporting image ICC profiles as "Document CMYK" when they are not, in fact, in that color space.

    I have an InDesign document that's using a CMYK profile of "U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2". It incorporates two copies of the same image, each with different CMYK profiles, "GRACoL 4c BW" and "CGATS21_CRPC1", respectively.

  5. [ID-4261015]Can't grab window

    When working on an InDesign file, when I need to grab the InDesign window (by clicking and dragging) and move it, I usually have to make three attempts before my mouse "catches" the window. InDesign 17.2, Mac Studio OS 12.3.1. It's very random when it works and not works, but mostly it doesn't work on the first attempt.

  6. InCopy character panel blank

    My coworker is on a PC running InCopy 2019 and has had an issue with InCopy since CC2017. The panels (not sure which ones are there other than the character panel) move from the side to the top and go blank and are utterly unusable. Turning them off and on again doesn't do anything. Any ideas on making it usable again?

    It may help to just quit InCopy on your co-worker’s machine and clean the Application Preferences and Cache from here:
    /Users/yourusername/Library/Caches/
    /Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/

  7. CC Libraries panel gets stuck when Relinking

    Sometimes the CC Libraries panel gets stuck with the 'Select a graphic to relink' message when relinking. Can't select any options when this message is displayed.

  9. Missing info in text panel

    Suddenly all information in the text panel is gone. I had it working a couple of minutes ago but cannot get it back. The information is up in the head of the workplace but not on the panel. Pls look at the screen shot to what is missing.

  10. Needing a smaller swatches panel (minimum 1 line, not 2 lines)

    Context : On most of my documents, with few but very distinct colors, I'll often switch to "big thumbnails". It's easy to distinguish a color from a lighter or darker version.

    But then, when the panel could displays two lines of swatches, I would only need one (see linked file), freeing a lot of screen space.

    Except the minimum size of that panel doesn't go under 2 lines, when 1 would be enough.

  11. Changing font in Character Panel frequently causes a crash in Indesign CC 2018

    Since 2018 version, changing a font in the character panel frequently crashes the application, but not 100% of the time. Font worked fine in older version and sometimes works fine in 2018, but the same issue has happened a good few times in the last week or so.

    Hello All,

    Thank you for your support all this while. The issue is now fixed in the latest update of InDesign.
    Please upgrade to the new InDesign 14.0 from your Creative Cloud Application.

    If you are unable to see the update yet, click on the menu (three dots) on the top right corner of Creative cloud app and click on “Check for App Updates”.

  12. Moving objects between layers using the layers panel doesn't always work

    I struggle with moving objects between different layers in an InDesign document by using the layers panel. Often it takes two or more attempts to move objects. I wonder if it's the tolerance of the buttons or if this is genuinely a bug.

    Please update InDesign to the latest version, InDesign CC 2018 (13.0) for the resolution of the issue.

  13. Changing text color with properties panel.

    This is about changing the text color of a selected text field through the properties panel.

    Current behaviour:
    When a text field is selected the properties panel shows just the color of the box not the text. To change the text color a number of clicks through two submenus are necessary.

    Suggested behaviour:
    Text and box color are displayed directly in the properties panel.

  14. InDesign 2018 crashes when I update the links in the links panel

    InDesign 2018 crashes when I update the links in the links panel. It does not matter which size they have.
    I'm using Indesign 2018 since yesterday. Running on a power Mac 2017.
    To finish my document I had to install indesign 2017 again and start all over! What can I do?

    Fix of the issue is now available in InDesign’s latest November’17 update.
    Please upgrade to the latest version InDesign CC 13.0.1 for the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update, go to Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

  15. Master pages populate page panel in wrong order

    When dragging more than one master page to the pages panel, the masters populate in descending order instead of ascending order (for example, Masters A, B, C populate in pages panel as C, B, A.)

    I'm able to consistently replicate this error on two different computers running different versions (INDD 15.0.3 and 15.1.1)

  16. mouse lag in indesign when photoshop window open

    Experiencing terrible mouse lag in indesign, the cursor flickers constantly and it feels like the mouse is swimming through mud. Nearly enough to make the program unusable. Reinstall fixes the problem temporarily but it returns within 30mins.

    I have identified that this only happens when a photoshop window is open behind or next to the indesign window.

    We confirmed that the 60Hz version MODEL A2119 EMC 3279 works fine. The offending Apple dongle is MODEL A1621 EMC 2877 which is the obsolete model.

    Please upgrade the Apple dongle to overcome the issue.

  17. pages panel collapses

    My document has many pages, 50 or more. When I open the document, the pages panel, more often than not, is completely collapsed, and I have to manually resize it back so that I can see all of the pages.
    I have the latest version of ID. I have been using versions of ID since 2001, and I never had this problem until I purchased this one. It makes me feel regret for buying it, I can tell you. It might seem like a small thing, but believe me it is annoying.

  18. Crashed dialog windows

    Steps to reproduce: First time launch, opened file and didnt dismiss tour window, then opened second file with missing font
     
    Result: both the tour window and the missing font window became stuck open with no way to dismiss either

    Expected: To be able to clear one, then the other
     
    System info
        Application: InDesign v16.3.0.5
        OS: macOS v11.2.3, RAM: 16.00 GB, CPUs (logical): 8

  19. Properties Panel snaps closed inconveniently

    I must admit, I was not a huge fan of the new properties panel, as I found having the properties at the top of my workspace quick, convenient and more easily accessible. In working with typography I've encountered a few issues with the latest release of CC (working on iMac High Sierra):

    1. If I try to open the character panel, there is a lag time with the dreaded rainbow spinning wheel that either takes way to long to load and sometimes crashes the program.

  20. Accessible PDF Exported from ID contains SPANS in Reading Order panel

    InDesign Version: 13.1

    To reproduce issue, create an InDesign document with some styles, map styles to tags and export to PDF with tags (accessible pdf).

    Expected result is that in the Reading Order panel (and Content pane), each paragraph is wrapped in an appropriate container.

    The actual result is that each line of text within a paragraph is wrapped in a span container.

    Although this doesn't seem to directly affect the accessibility of the file, it makes additional remediation difficult because of the many containers found in the PDF file.

    We acknowledge that the issue is slowing you down and we regret the same.
    Our investigation suggests that the issue lies in the latest update of Acrobat and there is little that can be done at our end to resolve the issue.
    The problem has been communicated to the relevant team.
