Having problems naming alternate layouts within the pages panel since update to Big Sur
Problems started after updating to MacOS Big Sur
Indesign 2021 - (2020 same problem)
I can't rename the alternate layouts in the PAGES panel when the panel is docked. If the panel is floating free, there is no problem.
I never had this issue before, it al started after updating to Mac OS Big Sur.

I am having the same issue (inDesign 16.4, Big Sur 11.6). I am glad to have found a workaround (after around half an hour of research …), but by this time the bug should have been resolved, shouldn't it?

Still happening (InDesign 16.3.2, Big Sur 11.5.1). So glad I found the thread that lead me here. Never would've thought to undock, just to be able to name the Alternate Layouts.
You go to click on the text to rename it, the text area highlights blue/editable for the briefest of moments, then goes back to being locked. It happens so quickly that I can't even get a screenshot of it.

Same issue here. Stacked is not possible to rename the alternate layout, but it's doable in a floating window. Never happened before.

Thanks for the workaround - had the same problem as well (Indesign 16.0.2, MacOS Big Sur 11.0.1)
