Layout Adjustment Moves Anchored Frames

Crash and shifting of text markups
>>Exporting to IDML, to rtf or select all + paste lead to a system crash in InDesign CC 2017 (18.1.2). The export to pdf was possible. Using exclusion techniques, the typesetter was able to locate a bad paragraph in the middle of the document that crashes when selecting + pasting. She deleted this paragraph in text mode and re-inserted it. Now idml and rtf export works. But starting from this paragraph, all text markups in italic are now shifted (after the idml cleanup) by about 195 characters to the front. This error occurred shortly before printing and no

Text Box Cutting off Copy with Auto Height On
>>I am using version 15.0.1 but this also happens in previous versions. We use multiple paragraph styles to format our text. We have noticed in some cases, not all when we copy the text frame the text box cuts off the last line when copied. Also when you click in a text box and begin to edit the last line disappears. We use many layers and many versions so we copy the text very often, this is causing problems with missing text.

pasting crash
>>>InDesign CC 13.1 — EVERY time I copy text from another program (PDF, email, Word, ANYTHING other text within InDesign), InDesign crashes immediately upon pasting into a text box within InDesign. No spinning beach ball. Just shuts down and closes. This is untenable and needs to be fixed. Productivity and my job depend on it. Can anyone please help solve this issue? Thank you.

Indesign crashes when attempting to copy or delete a table with an anchored text form field.
>>>Mac Monteray 12.7.6 - Indesign 2024
>>I'm using tables to hold form fields for a PDF form. When a text form field is anchored in a table, copying the table will cause text fields to disappear. Continuing to copy or delete that table will eventually cause a InDesign to crash. When reopening Indesign none of the menu commands work properly and I have to use Command Q to quit InDesign again and reopen in order to continue my work.

Color Picker causes InDesign to Crash
>>Every time I try to use the eyedrop Color Picker tool in InDesign it causes InDesign to crash and close. It will not allow me to drag the eyedropper to pick up a color, and if I try to drag the eyedropper it makes the color box freeze to where I cannot click "Ok" or "Cancel" and I need to press the "Esc" button on my keyboard to get out of the color box. Shortly after closing the color box, InDesign will crash and close. I have tried updating InDesign to the newest version, turning on/off my computer multiple

erratic and missing cursor in text frames

> My cursor behaves properly when I use the Select tool, but when I use the Type tool, the cursor becomes very tiny outside of a text frame. If I click within a text frame, a vertical cursor blinks. However, to maneuver within the text frame, I need to use the cursor keys on my keyboard! I've tried changing the cursor settings for my system and restarting my computer to no avail. Crash when smart reflowing a document with many anchored text boxes
>>>Indesign is freezing/crashing when smart text reflow is used to reflow the document. Other documents are fine. This document is unique in that it contains many anchored text boxes and decimal tabs.
>>I am using InDesign 15.0.2
>>All I must do to crash InDesign is 1) open the document, 2) place my cursor between two of the inline anchored text boxes, 3) add a paragraph return (creating overset text which should be reflowed automatically).
>>See attached screenshot of one-page document.

copy
>>>Allow normal use of copy and paste with system-wide shortcuts from PDF comments. Most of the time I try to copy text from a PDF comment to paste into a document, the selection disappears and no "copy" option appears. I need to be able to copy and paste text from comments as easily as any other text. This issue is seen in 17.2.1 on an M1 iMac running Monterey 12.3.1.
