Export and Save As dialogs not showing up in MacOS Monterey
- Installed MacOS Monterey then InDesign Export or Save As dialogs stopped working.
- Export or Save As dialogs should be showing up
- Export or Save As dialogs not showing up with either keyboard shortcuts or when using the dropdown menu.
- The issue was validated by your support staff Lakshay (Adobe) through remote access 26.10.2021
Apparently, this issue got resolved with Monterey 12.1 that was released by Apple around mid-December.
Are you still seeing this issue with this latest Monterey version 12.1?

Solved for me with Monterey 12.1

This error disappeared when I mirrored my display and laptop monitor, and switched to my laptop as main monitor. I've just never switched back. Too nervous.

It looks like the problem got solved with Monterey 12.1, thanks!
Hello, I haven't seen the problem since Apple's update.

Oh god, what a royal pain this bug is.
Please expedite this bug, Adobe.
Just downloaded the update to 12.1. So far so good! Thanks Apple!

Well, MacOS 12.1 fixes the problem. Thanks Apple. 😑

Same problem. Mirror your external display with your laptop monitor and restart Indesign. Problem solved.
@Adobe Please Fix This!!!

This is a huge problem. I can't do anything and am going to lose clients...PLEASE FIX THIS NOW!!!!! I'm also having this issue with Photoshop.
Mine just went from bad to worse. I can't even save a document now! This is unacceptable. FIX THIS!

It's been a month... what would you guys have done if there wasn't workaround for this

So much lost time trying to figure this out! Glad I found this Thread.
The Monitor thing worked.
Had to restart and close InDesign > Went into System preferences > Changed my primary display to my laptop instead of my external monitor > Re-opened Indesign > Then "save as" "export" and "package" worked.
Super frustrating how often I have to hit forums for "new issues" with the Adobe Programs.

My colleague suddenly had this issue with iMac + Monterey + Photoshop, save-dialog not appearing.
This seems to be related to external monitors. The solution in this case was to set the iMac internal display as the primary monitor instead of an external display.

The ONLY way to Save, Save As, Export or Place is to unplug external monitor, quit and restart InDesign, and do these actions before plugging in external monitor again.

I tried Esther's quick fix of setting Displays to Scaled but it did not work for me! Still having all these same issues with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop! Impossible to work this way!

This is crazy, I can't do work this way. Please fix it ASAP!!!!

Over here the same issue, using a widescreen with resolution 3440 x 1440.
A quick fix that seems to work (for now):
> System settings > Monitors
> change the default to scaled and select the same resolution
I'm having the same issue, only with a blank dialogue screen as attached. Has anyone found a solution to this? It's crazy! I'm running Monterey 12.0.1
Holy sh*t this is so bad. Quick fix is to unplug any external monitors and restart InDesign. Should also mention that I'm experiencing similar issues with Photoshop 22. Think their QA team need an immediate overhaul as this is completely unacceptable.
