Share for Review fails to update
No issue creating a Share for Review. However updating an existing Share for Review results in an endlessly spinning blue circle and the link does not update.
This issue is fixed in the latest InDesign version - InDesign 2023.

I have tried all of the troubleshooting tips and am still unable to create a link to share for review. The "getting your link ready" blue spinner spins for HOURS and it's a one page document. I've signed out of InDesign and Adobe and signed back in through InDesign. Nothing works. I've been trying to get someone to respond to my posts for weeks.

The issue is not fixed. With InDesign 2023 I am still seeing the behavior that and existing Share for Review results in an endlessly spinning blue circle and the link does not update.
After saving / closing the file I see the error message "There was an error processing the artifact"

I would like to add that I have successfully been able to update a link that I was previously unable to update (and that previously would crash InDesign). My solution was to delete many 'Resolved' comments. I deleted around 500 comments, bringing the total remaining comments down to about 150-200 and I am now able to work with the 'Share for Review' feature. The 'Share for Review' panel within InDesign is now MUCH faster.

Hi Ravi, unfortunately this is not fixed. InDesign crashes whenever I try to update my 'Share for Review' link. Can you please reopen this ticket?

I've opened multiple documents, made many updates to my shared files throughout the day and had no problems so far. I made sure to open huge files that were problematic for updating previously too.
For us, this feature has become an essential part of our project review process and several workflows so many thanks for addressing this!

We are having the same issue today, too. As it says below: It makes us look extremely unprofessional when we have just enthusiastically told our clients about this feature and then cannot deliver on Adobe's promises.
Are anyone at Adobe looking into fixing this!?

I am having the same issue today. Share for review is a great feature when working properly, however, in my experience, it fails more often than not and is totally unreliable. It makes me look extremely unprofessional when clients cannot access the work I have shared for them to review.

I'm also having this issue with InDesign 17.0.1. I tried to restart and share again, but the problem is the same.

Agree! This bug is back! It's been working great but has now reared its ugly head on version 17.0.1. Just to confirm, creating the first review is fine but updating the link gives you the blue spinning circle. I'm on macOS Big Sur 11.6. Tried all steps here https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/resolve-share-for-review.html and logged out of CC and back in and restarted. Help!

I echo others here, I get this issue too. I appears usually after the file has been open while and multiple updated have been done. The only way I can exit the document is to force quit.

I just tried the "hack" that someone suggested to open any document, click the share for review, then open the one you actually want to share and do the same, then it works. I tried this several times with different documents and it worked every time. Maybe something for QA to test out?

I'm also having this issue with InDesign 16.4 I get the spinner and background tasks remains blank.
I'm on a Mac running Mojave. I've tried the various Adobe recommended fixes to no avail found here: lhttps://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/resolve-share-for-review.html
I even tried rebooting.

Am also having this issue - using 16.3.2 on Mac. I was able to create a share for review link - but have not been able to update the link for 20 hours. Each time it gets stuck on the blue loading circle. Have restarted InDesign dozens of times to try to work around.

I'm having this issue on 16.3 as well. I'm also seeing Conflicting copies of my file in CC Files and the Share for Review link won't update.

I'm having the same problem today on 16.3 x 64. But it's not on every document. It seems to hang forever only on docs that I've already shared and I'm trying to update. After closing the document, on opening it again I'll see this error notification (screenshot attached). After closing that, updating the link seems to work quickly. But on another document, the cycle repeats.

Same problem, had to go back to 2020 to be able to use the feature normally. One weird workaround is if you try to update one file in Share For Review, then try to update a SECOND file the second one will work, and the first will produce an artifact error.
I don't know if this will work for everyone (I'm on InDesign 16.3 on a Windows 10 PC). Not ideal, but it's a workaround for anyone who needs their files to be able to update ASAP just make a dummy doc, try to update it, then update the one you need to work. Hope it helps somebody out there!
