version 19.2 x64. The version update lost my language setting (English-Hebrew).
The English-Hebrew setting was lost during the last few updates, which removed the ability to create bullets with a hanging indent. A minus value in the first line indent always led to an error. It was solved by uninstalling and re-installing, which then gave me the text direction options again. So a workaround is possible, but it must be done every time I update.

Character Alternates Contextual Menu not working in InDesign with Hebrew Support
Note the following checkbox:
Preferences > Advanced Type > Type Contextual Controls > Show for Character Alternates, Fractions, Ordinals and Ligatures
If checked, whenever a character is selected a contextual menu with alternates should appear (if supported by the font, of course).
It's working in the English (International) version, but not in the English (Hebrew Supporting) version.

Endnotes with Numbers following Hebrew Script in an English Document Not Working
I have an issue with Endnotes and how they are working in English following Hebrew inputs into the text. It seems to be isolated to endnotes with or including any kind of numbers. I have attached a WORD document, showing screenshots. This I have to say is quite a needed fix, or a solution. I was informed to submit this as a bug.

Problem Selecting Hebrew vowels and diacritics
Windows 11
Indesign 19 x64Problem Selecting Hebrew vowels and diacritics especially when there are Hebrew and English mixed in the paragraph, it seems like there is no visual distinction to determine what is being selected. This is so frustrating, and makes it impossible to use in the long run.

Hebrew drops out
Hebrew text in the middle of a sentence is dropping out when exported to PDF. There have been several occurrences in this project, but I've never seen this before. In the example PDF, I have a Hebrew word followed by a makeshift ellipsis [nonbreaking space + . + 1/6 em space + . + 1/6 em space + . + space] followed by two more Hebrew words. A GREP style changes the Hebrew words from the base font (Arno) to Taamey David CLM. As is, the first Hebrew word drops out.
If I move the first Hebrew word back to…

You have screwed up Hebrew in InDesign 19.0.1
There are several very serious bugs with Hebrew that I have reported in Bug ID-4244890
- you cannot select diacritics.
- when diacritics have mark to mark positioning, the positioning changes.
The above two very serious bugs can be solved by running your script hidden on your website that disables the harfbuzz engine.
- periods that appears at the end of a Hebrew sentence, especially if there is an English word, disappear when exporting to pdf.
- Hebrew sentences that have a number of English words can display incorrectly in InDesign with the pillcrow appearing in the middle of the line and when exporting,…

Hebrew Vowel Points Incorrectly Positioned
When keying (or importing) Hebrew text, InDesign often misplaces vowel points when two or more vowel points are attached to a single base character unless the base character and vowel points are keyed in a specific order. I don't totally understand it, but it has something to do with Unicode normalization. Microsoft Word gets around this problem, but I can't say how. It would be nice, however, if InDesign could get around it, too.
One Hebrew font, SBL Hebrew, has written Unicode features (?) to prevent the normalization problem, but most fonts cannot do this on their own in…

RTL in Indesign 2024
I'm from Israel and use Adobe Cloud English supports Hebrew.
In InDesign 2024 (19) I see a bug, that the alignment to RTL does not work correctly. Even documents created properly in 2023 (18) appear distorted. The Hebrew text loses its position in relation to punctuation marks, numbers and foreign letters.19 votes -

line break within Hebrew word
InDesign frequently breaks lines of Hebrew text in the middle of words. The work around is to add a Zero Length Joiner, but that can be a tedious process, especially when InDesign keeps that word together but breaks the line in the middle of a different word.

last letter in text frame disappears from PDF Hebrew
We're having issues with the last letter or the punctuation at the end of a sentence disappearing when the file is exported as a PDF. Primarily happens with right-to-left language, we're using Hebrew.
Been happening since the update to 19.0 onward.5 votes -

English (UK) dictionary apparently not working
Why, when I have set things to PROPER English rather than American English, is the spellchecker still working in Mericanese?
The attached will show British spellings being highlighted as wrong, yet PROPER English selected in preferences.
Thank you!
3 votesYou can select the text frame and change the language in the Control panel
or you can select a specific portion of text, say a word, in a frame and change the language for that in the Control panel. If you want to change the application’s default language, in a no document state, edit the [Basic Paragraph] style in the Paragraph Styles panel (in Advanced Character Formats) category.

Punctuation at the end of Hebrew text is broken if there is a SHIFT+ENTER in the middle
Punctuation character at the end of Hebrew text is "shift" to the right if a SHIFT+ENTER (line break within the same paragraph) was typed somewhere in the paragraph.
A simple example is shown in the attached image.
Also, in the attached Image I am using the "Adobe Hebrew" font with "Hebrew" set as Language (as can be seen in the attached images).

Hebrew that is conditioinal text does not export properly to PDF.
- This is the case in InDesign 19.0, 19.0.1, 19.1, current beta version. 2-4. Hebrew text with diacriticals (vowels and others) that is marked as conditional text exports to PDF incorrectly. Diacritical marks are missing or misplaced. Sometimes an unexpected box appears. The same file, with conditions removed exports correctly to PDF. (Other exports, e.g., JPG) are correct. The same file exports properly in 18.5
- Attached files: a. Hebrew text with condition applied and same text without condition applied. This is the pdf export. I would provide the indd file but this webpage does not accept indd files. b. Screen with…

selection of diacritic characters such as trop in Hebrew is a disaster
I don’t know what you guys were thinking in 2020, but the selection of Hebrew diacritics, vowels and trop is extremely difficult. You have done it sensibly since InDesign 1.5 ME about 20 years ago! Why did you change it in 2020?
This needs to be fixed fast!
Here is a video explaining the problem: http://somup.com/cqX1Q9f6hD
