Hebrew drops out
Hebrew text in the middle of a sentence is dropping out when exported to PDF. There have been several occurrences in this project, but I've never seen this before. In the example PDF, I have a Hebrew word followed by a makeshift ellipsis [nonbreaking space + . + 1/6 em space + . + 1/6 em space + . + space] followed by two more Hebrew words. A GREP style changes the Hebrew words from the base font (Arno) to Taamey David CLM. As is, the first Hebrew word drops out.
If I move the first Hebrew word back to the end of the previous line, it exports correctly. If I change the font of the spaces and periods between the Hebrew words, it exports correctly.
Changing the font for the Hebrew to Times New Roman does not correct the drop out. Removing the GREP and manually styling the Hebrew also does not correct the drop out.
I've attached two PDFs. One shows a hole in the text where the Hebrew should be. The second—in which I've changed the font of the spaces and periods between the Hebrew words, shows the complete—correct export.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
- Version 18.4
- Key mixed-language sentence of English and Hebrew with a non-Hebrew string interrupting the Hebrew. (It may be a requirement that the Hebrew begins the second or later line in the paragraph; that seems to be part of the pattern, but I can't confirm that.) Export to PDF.
- All Hebrew and English should export in full.
- Part of Hebrew is missing.

Great news for those having issues working with hebrew in indesign 2024: You can go to Indesign> Edit> Preferences > Advanced Type and select Enable Legacy Text Shaping for Adobe World-Ready Composer to switch back to the older/legacy text-shaping engine for Adobe World-ready Composer.

Yes I have experienced this in InDesign 2024 edition - version 19.4 - random Hebrew characters do not export when creating the PDF. Please fix this as soon as possible. I know at least two other users experiencing this.
