  2. gpu view corrupt!

    Apple Mac Mini M1, 16GB / Adobe InDesign 19.2: even after today's update, GPU view doesn't display correctly some objects on the page! CPU view ok, overprint view ok, but after switching to GPU view, some objects disappear! Please see the attached footage.
    Adobe InDesign 18.5.1 on the same machine works ok with the same document.

  3. Printing Error: Problem initializing the current printer - Check the system print setting?

    I have not changed anything in my settings for this error to occur? The previous version works and I have cross-referenced all my settings and they match but it will not allow the print booklet export to the Adobe PDF drive which has always worked?

    Sometimes, InDesign might crash while accessing the printer setup or while printing documents with some specific printers. The crash is intermittent and specific to Windows only.
    Currently, this issue is observed with the following printers when their drivers are not updated:
    • Konica Minolta
    • Canon ColorPass
    LANIER

    If the printer you are using is not listed here or if updating the drivers of the listed printers does not resolve the issue, please share the following information at sharewithID@adobe.com to help us investigate the issue further:
    • Printer driver and printer setup details.
    • The configuration of your printer – local, network, or wireless.
    • Is the printer configured as your default printer?

    Cursor Direction when typing Arabic or other RTL languages. in Middle Eastern version ONLY.

    1. All Middle Eastern versions (English يدعم العربية)

    2. Type Arabic text. Place the cursor within text. Hold "Shift" key and click on right arrow key on the keyboard to select/highlight text. Cursor moves left and select next character on the left while clicking on right arrow.

    3. To select a character to the left of the cursor, we should hold (Shift+left arrow) To select a character to the right of the cursor, we should hold (Shift+right arrow)

  5. Share for Review

    Share for Review does not seem to be working even after another update.

    I sent an invitation by "Invite Only". My client received an email with a link and the only 2 options available for my client are "Sign in with an Adobe ID" – 99% of my clients will not HAVE or NEED an Adobe ID.

    The second option is "Enter a password if one has been shared with you." Unfortunately, I was not given the option to set up a password. However, when posting publicly I could.

    If client does not have Adobe ID and does not want to create one (it’s free to create), then instead of choosing to send an ‘Invite Only’ Share for Review link, designer should send a ‘Public’ link to the reviewers.

  6. Table header line (below) disappears half when editing text in InCopy

    We encounter an unusual behavior with table lines.

    When an editor edits text in InCopy and saves the changes, half of the line below the table’s headers disappears. See screenshots “Before” (expected result) and “After” (actual result) the editing. The structure of these particular tables is quite complex.

    We use Adobe InDesign/InCopy, version 15.1.3 x64, in combination with the WoodWing Studio Editorial System.

  7. Glyph substitution not working with certain Oriya and Bengali glyphs

    The following words in cannot be reproduced in InDesign. It seems the glyph substitution is not working in about 1% of cases.

    র‍্যানিবিজুমাব — Bengali
    ମହତ୍ଵପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ — Oriya
    ସ୍ଵେଚ୍ଛାକୃତ — Oriya
    କିମ୍ଵା — Oriya

    It looks fine above, in any text editor, or in any Microsoft app, but does NOT look right in any Adobe app I tested, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop CC 2019 and 2020 of each.
    I am applying the World-Ready Composers.
    I have tried copy+pasting the text from Word and also tried the Place command in InDesign.

  8. Khmer Script Punctuation Line Breaking Is Broken

    Regression Bug (used to work in InDesign CS 5.5)

    Adobe InDesign CC 15.03 currently will break lines between Khmer script and its punctuation even though no space is present (Khmer Unicode Punctuation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khmer_script#Spacing_and_punctuation ) as pictured in the attachment.

    Desired Result: Khmer punctuation should stay with the Khmer script preceding it (just like an English period, comma, question mark, etc. does). The whole word should line break with the punctuation (currently Khmer uses zero-width spaces [U+200B] to indicate a word-boundary).

    The issue has been fixed in the latest release of InDesign – InDesign 2021.
    Please update to this new version of InDesign to get the fix.

  9. Exporting to PNG file on network drive doesn't work

    There appears to be a bug when exporting PNG files to network mapped drives in Mac OS X 10.13.4 (Darwin) Adobe InDesign 2018 (latest version).

    This is in a domain environment using domain credentials. You export the file as PNG and it doesn't appear in the folder as expected. If I export to desktop it works fine, if I copy it from desktop to the share it copies fine. Just cannot export directly.

    Hello,
    Can you confirm the InDesign version you are using? Is it 2018.1 or 2018?
    I assume the path to which you are trying to export the PNG is /Volumes/Shares/011 Changed Information/002 Changed Information/00617 Changed Information/Changed/ ?

    Is this drive mounted via SMB?
    Is it a NAS server?

  11. InDesign and Acrobat conflict

    I just installed InDesign 2020 15.0. When I try to export a file to PDF I get an error message saying that file is already open, which it is not. Closing Adobe Acrobat and reopening doesn't solve issue, only restarting InDesign does. Hugely inconvenient. I have not been prompted to upgrade Acrobat and I never had that problem with earlier InDesign versions.

    The issue was fixed in InDesign 2020 (v 15.1.2). The fix is also available in the latest release – InDesign 2021.
    Please update to either of these newer versions of InDesign to get the fix.

  13. fonts activate

    Indesign 15.0.1: Hello, I have the same problem. Adobe Fonts don´t load. When I click to activate a font it changes icon to "activating" but it never activates.

  14. Adobe cloud app - Preferences under account - Notifications tab just spins

    I open the Preferences pop-up under my account image. I click on Notifications tab but it just spins a blue circle and never shows me anything. All the other tabs in this pop-up work fine.

  15. Swatches panel locked in Adobe InDesign CC 2017 Win 10

    When editing colours into the swatches panel, the entire panel will be blocked, the colours greyed-out. After having deleted the cache it's OK for a moment, but the problem re-appears regularly. In the specification panel the colours can be nevertheless selected. Who knows the solution to this problem?

  16. Cursor - Zoom in and out/left and right on trackpad not working

    When using my trackpad on Windows 10, two fingers up and down works when editing a document. Two fingers left and right does nothing and pinching in and out doesnt zoom, it scrolls right to left. This is the same across all my adobe platforms. Everything else on my laptop scrolls accordingly on the trackpad.
    I only downloaded the adobe software last night and my laptop is brand new yesterday. All updates are up to date.

  17. Can't Rename Objects in Layers Panel on MacOS Big Sur

    Adobe Indesign 16.1, macOS Big Sur 11.2.3

    I cannot rename objects or layers in the layers panel. I've attached a video of the typical triple-click method and all you see is a quick flash of the editing mode but it is never actually able to be edited.

  18. Problem with *.wmf files in InDesign 16.3

    I've got a file with many equations created in MathType, exported as *.wmf files and placed in Adobe In Design. Until today everything was fine. But after a new update to version 16.3 all my equations were destroyed. In the attachment I'm sending the same page exported to PDF before and after update. Please help me.

  19. InDesign in Windows ALWAYS forgets app size and position!

    This has been a persistent pain for many YEARS. Everyone knows that an app should open to the last position and size. That's what the double-box icon is for in the upper right corner of the window border. Every single application in WIndows honors this "requirement" for Windows conformance.

    InDesign forces Windows users to reposition and resize the program every single time it is opened. This becomes a tremendous nuisance, and in any other program would be considered incomplete and unprofessional.     The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update 14.0.2 of InDesign 2019.
    If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.
    Once the update button is shown against InDesign, click on the button to update to Id 14.0.2.

  20. Unable to print using Separations with trap Application Built In

    When sending a 2+ color job with trap to RIP via Indesign, I keep getting "Printing Error: The Adobe Print Engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem." This seems to be an issue with the last 3 versions, along with the updates. I've uninstalled print drivers and reinstalled. Deleted cache files. For a short time I was able to print using an older version on Id but its no longer and option. My coworker who is on Mac has no problem printing with trap. Not sure what's going on.
