Unable to print using Separations with trap Application Built In
When sending a 2+ color job with trap to RIP via Indesign, I keep getting "Printing Error: The Adobe Print Engine has failed to output your data due to an unknown problem." This seems to be an issue with the last 3 versions, along with the updates. I've uninstalled print drivers and reinstalled. Deleted cache files. For a short time I was able to print using an older version on Id but its no longer and option. My coworker who is on Mac has no problem printing with trap. Not sure what's going on. I contacted Adobe when the problem first arose and went back and forth with them for over a week, tech even remoted in, nothing was fixed. Anyone else?

Still not working in CC InDesign v17.0.1 or v17.4. have 1 pc that had updates disabled and using v15.1.3 and is the only one that still works with application built-in trapping.
how is it that this option has been broken for so long? theres not a single ppd i can use that makes this work. i have checked all colour settings and everything else is the same as the old version. the only difference is the indesign version > 15.1.3
please fix this issue. also does anyone on a windows pc have this working at all? i have tried 4 machines and none of them do here.
i will also add that CC no longer lets me install an older version than for the other pc's so this makes it quite difficult in an office with 4 other people trying to run the same process on a single users pc.
i need these output as a ps file in seperations for a very old dpx system. it does not accept any other format.

Same here. Tech support said they would escalate the issue and get back to me, but here I am still waiting and it has been a few months. It seems InDesign 16.0 works still for trapping if you are able to get it from Tech Support. Not sure how it worked on previous versions before InDesign 16.04, and all of sudden in all the new versions it stopped working. How did that happen/ Why did they change this feature if it was not broken. Would this please be fixed already? How many votes or threads do we need to make for this to be addressed.

I posted about this months ago. I can't believe they've allowed it to go three versions without addressing this problem.
