Improve Link Panel functionality
It would be useful if we could right click an image in the Link panel and change the color mode from RGB to CMYK withough having to go into Photoshop before hand.

Panel resizing when bottom of panel isn't visible
When working on a laptop and switching from external monitor to built-in display, I have less vertical pixel space. As a result, floating panels that were full-length on the external monitor are now too long for the laptop display. Unfortunately, there is no way to resize a floating panel when the bottom of a panel isn't visible.

Add Native Slug Area and Mechanical Dimensioning Tools (Inspired by Mechanical Cubed + Illustrator's Dimensions Tool)
As a freelance Production Designer and Creative with a fine arts background, I work across pharma, retail, and packaging—where detailed mechanicals, slug data, and precise dimension callouts are a daily necessity. One of the most essential—but frustratingly missing—features in InDesign is the ability to efficiently manage mechanical specs and slug information natively.
To bridge this gap, many of us rely on plug-ins like Mechanical Cubed and Slug Cubed from Triple Triangle Inc. These tools automate the placement and consistency of critical production data—such as trim, bleed, dimensions, and job metadata—directly into the slug area.
Interestingly, Adobe Illustrator already includes a…

How about fixing InDesign’s Export to EPUB tools?
How about fixing InDesign’s Export to EPUB tools? Sure, you can convert an InDesign file to EPUB, but it really doesn’t do a complete job. Hanging indents and alignment of lists come in in a very spotty way. The alignments and spacing to hanging indents don’t hold. And then, while straight Roman text converts fairly nicely, when there are switches to italic or boldface text the type tends to get all scrunched up and is not at all presentable. I thought the best part of the ongoing subscription model was that fixes to issue would be forthcoming in a…

clipboard panel
A clipboard panel with recently copied images, words & glyphs would be quite handy for workflow.

Export from Pages Panel
The Pages panel — with pages selected — has a "print spreads/print pages" option in the contextual menu.
An option to export the selected spreads/pages to PDF would be useful, especially if it could be done seamlessly, without need for the Export Adobe PDF dialog.
Alternatively, the CMD-E shortcut with pages/spreads selected in the pages panel should bring up the Export Adobe PDF dialog with the selected page range already entered.
This would be especially useful when exporting contiguous pages!

Links in Properties Panel
The new Properties Panel is great, but the very first thing I noticed when selecting a linked file, It only states that it's a "Linked File"... But you cannot click or edit your linked file, like in Illustrator?? Isn't this the whole purpose behind the PropPanel - to make quick edits all in one panel? Thanks!

persistent plugin panel
It would be nice if the UXP plugin panel was persistent within a saved workspace.

Font tool and Character panel lockup
When selecting a font from the character panel or selecting text from a document after opening the file InDesign locks up. It happens without fail since the update and the lockup time range from a minute to going on 5 minutes plus (finally just restart the app).

Add a Search field to the Scripts panel!
I have A LOT of scripts. I try to organize them by folders, but I still waste time looking for the right script. A SEARCH field, like in the Fonts panel, would be VERY much appreciated. Thanks!

Book Panel - Add Editing/Batch-renaming INDD-File-names inside book panel
Please add Editing/Batch-renaming of INDD-Files inside of the book panel. Thats usefull because during work the given filenames often given intuitively. After work with Rename/Batch rename it would be easy possible to change filenames as the scheme as prescribed by the publisher. Also renaming errors are prevented and the workflow would be much faster.

Functionality for Properties Panel - similar to Illustrator Properties Panel
I love the properties panel in InDesign. It's fantastic for beginners. I have them set up the interface to look a lot like PS and AI. I think it makes it easier to learn and feels more familiar if they have experience with the other apps. The properties panel in Illustrator has fantastic functionality. The panels are all there so you don't have to open the floating panels. The ... allows you to open the actual panel if you need more. I would like the InDesign Properties panel to work the same way. There are commands hidden in…

Allow designers to modify styles without closing the options panel
Currently, if a designer needs to modify multiple styles (Paragraph, Character, ...), designers needs to close and reopen the options panel for each stye.
Please allow users to edit multiple styles, without closing the options panel. Example: In the options panel, add a pulldown menu containing the style names, allowing users to switch fast between styles.

InDesign Page panel
While duplicating the spread in the page panel of the Indesign, it just duplicates the page below the original page, it is good, but it should not fluctuate the panel screen.

Changes to the review tools
First, I'm using ID 15.1.3 and I cannot upgrade at this time. Not sure how much of these ideas would be resolved by upgrading.
-Is it possible to make pins and pencil lines transparent? There are two ways I can think of: a percentage slider just like alpha control in color settings, or a three point switch: hide/semisolid/solid. Either way I would like to see this as a control for each comment so you can choose it individually. Right now the pin or pencil line blocks the art somewhat, which is where the transparency would be handy.

Frame Fitting Panel
Fairly self explanatory. Frame fitting options are one of the only frequently used features that don't have their own panel, which can cause UX issues for various reasons. Solution, give them a panel.

Make character and paragraph sections of Properties panel full featured like the Character and Paragraph panels
The Properties panel is a great replacement for having the Character & Paragraph panels both open at all times. However, it's missing some functionality that's presented in the upper right menu on these panels (see attached). Some of these options aren't found anywhere else. It's a shame to need to have these panels open alongside the Properties panel. It would be preferable to add these options to the Properties panel to keep things tidy.

Bigger preview in Import pdf panel
It is hard to see the PDF preview in the Import PDF panel.
It would be great if you could choose the size of the thumbnail or adjust the size of the entire panel.3 votes -
I need in InDesign these tools: 1. in the «Path» I need «Outline Stroke 2. “Perespective” tool 3. the new “Generate” like what in Illustrat
I do almost all design and drawings in the InDesign program, so I found these tools in Photoshop and Illustrator. It is nice and ok for me not to leave InDesign and do all the things I need for printing and layout.
I am using InDesign Eastern language. (The Generating, is still not in the Eastern Version!!).

Update the Review Panel
I have been using Share for Review for a couple of years now.
First: Kudos to Adobe for the recent update to the website tools, especially the login banner and the zoom buttons.
There are still a few things that I would suggest changing on the app side, specifically to the review panel and the window from the share drop down:
-Can we add an update button to the review panel? Or, even better, when you save (NOT Save As) have an option to update the review during the save process? Better than digging into the share windowpane…
