selection of diacritic characters such as trop in Hebrew is a disaster
I don’t know what you guys were thinking in 2020, but the selection of Hebrew diacritics, vowels and trop is extremely difficult. You have done it sensibly since InDesign 1.5 ME about 20 years ago! Why did you change it in 2020?
This needs to be fixed fast!
Here is a video explaining the problem: http://somup.com/cqX1Q9f6hD
4 votesFix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign 2020 – that is, InDesign 15.0.1
In the Creative Cloud Desktop application, click on the Updates section on the left. You should be able to see the Update available for InDesign. Please update your InDesign application to this version to try out the fix.
Let us know in the comments section if you face any problem with the updation process.

Hebrew that is conditioinal text does not export properly to PDF.
- This is the case in InDesign 19.0, 19.0.1, 19.1, current beta version. 2-4. Hebrew text with diacriticals (vowels and others) that is marked as conditional text exports to PDF incorrectly. Diacritical marks are missing or misplaced. Sometimes an unexpected box appears. The same file, with conditions removed exports correctly to PDF. (Other exports, e.g., JPG) are correct. The same file exports properly in 18.5
- Attached files: a. Hebrew text with condition applied and same text without condition applied. This is the pdf export. I would provide the indd file but this webpage does not accept indd files. b. Screen with…

Problems with punctuation when exporting Hebrew files to epub
Using Indesign V.19.5 on a Mac OS Sequoia V15.0.1
When exporting a Hebrew document the punctuations move to the beginning of the sentences. I am unable to upload this book to an online shop. Had been in touch with Adobe support in the past but the issue remains.

ID 17 English LTR document with any RTL text exports as RTL epub
I edited this to remove the urgent notice. The publisher does not want to publish this book as an epub.
The basic problem remains, however.
When exporting an epub 3.0 from an academic book written in English with some RTL text sections, typically tables with Hebrew and English text, the epub exports in reverse order. That is, the title page is at the end of the epub, and the last page of the text is the first in the epub. So far it seems that the presence of any RTL elements, even a single character, causes the epub to export…

"haven't" contraction hyphenating in English USA
Unlike most of the other common contractions in English, the word "haven't" hyphenates at the end of a line. It shouldn't.

Spelling Language - everything switched to English (UK) but keeps Arabic
I have switched Preferences and all other options to English (UK) but the Check Spelling sticks to Arabic. I am not able to change this setting.
5 votesDictionary options in Preferences dialog is just for defining the chosen Language properties i.e. when you go to Preferences > Dictionary and select any language (say ‘German: Old Rules’) in Language dropdown, it does not signify that ‘German: Old Rules’ is applied or set as a language. It only signifies the User Dictionary that is used for that language, giving you the option to add more custom dictionaries. Also any changes that you make in Hyphenation, Spelling, Double Quotes and Single Quotes section in Preferences > Dictionary would pertain to that Language only. To use those settings you have to manually apply the Language from Control panel/Character panel or from Paragraph/Character Style to the text.
You can verify this by following steps:
Go to Preferences > Dictionary and select ‘German: Old Rules’, etc. in Language dropdown.
Change Spelling or Hyphenation setting and click OK.
Now create a text frame. The… -
page pallet
Indesign 15.1.1 and earlier versions - English supporting Hebrew.
When I create a document with binding right-to-left the page pallet numbers are blurry and hard to read this is not an issue when the document has binding left-to-right. See screen video and screen shot attached.
I am using Windows 10 latest version, but this has been an issue for many year now

US English dictionary no longer picking up UK English words as misspellings
I'm running 16.1. My colleagues are running 16. In neither version does the US English dictionary mark 'maneouvre', 'modelling', 'utilise' and 'organise' as misspellings even though they most certainly are.

Placing Graphics is missing from online User Guide Manual
When going to InDesgin online User Guide, the whole section of placing images is missing (Both in English and Hebrew - didn't check other languages).
I mentions this in Adobe Support Communities on May 22, 2019 Here:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/indesign-user-guide-search-place/m-p/10535619?page=1#M147718Adobe InDesign Middle Eastern Version, 2019-2021
Steps to reproduce the issues : Go to InDesign User Guide:
https://helpx.adobe.com/hk_en/indesign/user-guide.html/hk_en/indesign/using/welcome.ug.html
On the left under the topic list, there is no topic for Placing Graphics.
Expected result: The topic should appear in user guide, in all languages including Hebrew.
Actual result: The topic is missing.
This topic exist when you google search it, but…

User Interface half in English (default) and half in Russian
When I go to my drop-down menu one of them is in Russian.
The only issue I have found is with the dropdown under Type (English) > Text Variable (English) > Insert Veriable (Russian). Only in Russian on some documents I open, not all.
I updated my InDesign to v 17.21 today.

InDesign 15.1.1 English dictionary missing plural word spellings
Since the update every plural word version is not in the dictionary. Simple, basic words like 'years' and 'days' now show as a spelling error. It was working fine before the latest update. Get it fixed - it's pointless having the spellchecker when so many basic words are missing!

I want to use the Japanese ver. InDesign with English UI.
I don't understand why some features like Ruby Text are only available in the Japanese version. Why can't we just change the language?
I did find a work-around to install the Japanese version and change the UI to English, but if I do that, all the hotkeys disappear like CTRL+C.
