Fit frame to content not working for text
>>>I recently updated to the newest version of InDesign (v 16.0) and "fit frame to content" is not working properly for any of my text boxes. It is leaving about 0.13in at the top of all of my text, and is making aligning in my layout extremely difficult. I double checked to make sure my baselines are set to 0 and my text boxes are set to Align to top, but nothing seems to be fixing it.

alternate layout - copy text variables (just like styles to new group)
>>I had a job that was originally designed to be a PDF online in color. Then at the last minute, the client asked for a B&W version for print (to keep costs down). They still weren't done editing so I made an alternate layout and checked "copy styles to new group", then made all the color adjustments to those styles and the new B&W master pages. However, I had a running header in the original version. Well, the running header on the B&W version picked up the last section head from the color version, making the B&W version

[ID-4256174]InDesign crashes while searching any font/word, etc., which is in overset text.
>>>We have simple scripts that operate on script labels to Find and Replace Text, adjust Text Size, things like that. We've been using them for three years with no problems prior to v2025. They crash and bring up the option to send an error report. We're rolling back to 2024 now, we can't operate efficiently without these scripts.
>2 votesThe fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2025(v20.0.1.032). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

ID 2020 15.1 - All text variables (including page numbers) replaced by "ss" text
>>Just updated to ID 2020 15.1 and found a bug which makes the program unusable forcing me to immediately downgrade.
…
> When I open on of my ID documents created in previous version of ID, all of my defined text variables as well as page numbers are corrupted and replaced by the "ss" text. Changing the style has no effect. I can create page number based on the 'Basic Paragraph' style but when i choose any other previously created style, the number changes to 'ss'.
> Even the variable field preview shows 'ss' text instead of variable name.

>>>Autoflow text is crashing InDesign. The progress bar gets to about 90% and then it crashes.
>>The text document is about 50,000 words, so it's nothing unusual.

To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received an email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) as it is more robust and contains a lot of bug fixes.
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

Command + option + drag no longer copies text box
>>>Have used this feature for 20 years and now the double arrow indicating that a box is being copied shows up, but the text box is not actually copied--the box just moves.

Graphic Frame Text Wrap in Find/Change Object
>>I'm running InDesign 12.0.0.1 (2017) on mac OS 10.12.6 (Sierra). I was originally trying to write a script to automate changing text wrapping on all graphic frames in the active document to wrap to the largest area (TextWrapSideOptions.LARGEST_AREA). When I couldn't get a script that should have worked to function properly, I decided to try automating Find/Change Object queries. That's when I discovered that the manual queries weren't function. Allow me to elaborate:
>>Here's what I want to do:

InDesign overset text copies entire document
>>>InDesign is creating a problem wherein I finish an entire document and it still says there is overset text. When I create a new frame to put it into to see what it is, I find that InDesign has duplicated the text of the entire document. When I try to delete the extra, it just copies the text over and over and puts it right back, including if I try to delete the frame that the extra text is inside of. How do I make this stop?

Insering Anchroed text frame object shifts the vowels on referenced Arabic/Persian/Urdu text frame
>>>Hello there,
>>We have only noticed this problem while dealing with Arabic/Persian/Urdu text (regardless of the fonts used). English text works just fine.
>>When anchored framed is inserted, the vowels in the Arabic/Persian/Urdu text and sometime evens the characters in the text shift. The foreign text is typically perfectly fine prior to inserting the anchored object however changes. See before and after examples:
