Adobe InDesign 2024(v19.0) - Users are facing issues while scrolling using Trackpad/Touchpad
I have installed the upgrade to Adobe InDesign 2024 (build 19.0) while keeping version 2023 (build 18.5) and have encountered the following problem:
- After opening a document, the mouse scroll wheel does not seem to work (i.e. it is not possible to scroll up or down the contents of a page). However, this condition still works in InDesign version 2023.
Has anyone encountered the same problem and found a solution?
This issue was fixed in 19.2 version of InDesign.
Please update to this version or later to get the fix.

Okay can confirm it seems to be scrolling properly in 19.3. Note to self - three dot versions in is the new norm for updating, and don't be hasty to 'remove old versions'!

Can anyone confirm this is fixed [properly] in the 19.3 release?

Follow-up comment: updated to the latest version today (19.2) and touchpad is working again. Thanks for the update Adobe!

This seems like a very big miss by your quality assurance team. Then to slow-roll the fix, and expect people to join your volunteer beta tester program just so the can SCROLL again -- a very basic function of every computer in existence. How much time does Adobe think the working professionals who use their software (and pay a premium for the privilege) have?

Hi,
Just to say even with the 19.2 pre-release version, you can't zoom in and out with the trackpad, and the scrolling around the page is not smooth (it happens in somewhat jittery increments).
We just need to be able to use the trackpad as normal, same as Mac.

Two months later - still no fix?

Can anyone confirm this issue is fixed in the 19.1 release?
EDIT: Can confirm this issue is NOT fixed in 19.1.

Any updates on a fix timeline for this?

scrolling not working unless I hover over scroll bars, please fix asap! I work in so many multi page publication files.

The USB mouse workaround needs a workaround! - also doesn't work with a mouse. Have to use the scroll bars at the side and bottom. A fix for this would be great (before 2025 version!).

How soon until a fix is complete?

Adobe fixed the unusable 'wiped all my preferences' bug in 19.0.1 - but now once again the app is made unusable by the lack of touchpad scrolling. I see some of you other Adobe beta-testers... erm, I mean, customers, are having the same issue. So I guess I'll see you all back in the 18.5 lounge while we wait for v19 to be properly ready for takeoff!

Since the latest update, 2-finger scrolling no longer works within Indesign. It works in file-open dialog, but not within a file you are creating/editing. This is in Windows 11.

Also an issue for me - USB mouse is a no go for productivity. I'd rather suffer than use a USB mouse....

Scrolling with Windows Surface Arc Bluetooth Mouse also has same issues. Scrolling does not seem to register or if it does it is a major jump. Alt+Scroll no matter direction jumps to the view all the way out and locks, cannot zoom back in unless I use another hotkey or zoom feature to reset the view.
This is a core function of designing and I cannot believe this has not been corrected yet.

I am having the same issue as well. I don't have another mouse option that works at the moment. The best workaround that I've found is to just keep using the previous 18.5 version until Adobe is able to fix this issue.

I had the same problem using trackpad in Windows, it is really annoying. No problem using USB mouse here.

[Update] This problem does not seem to occur when the mouse pointer is in the vertical or horizontal scroll bar.

My Mac mouse isn't working to scroll in any ID documents, which makes my work literally impossible. Are there any fixes for this??

Scrolling and Alt+Scroll Zoom does not work. Guess it was after the update to V 19.0
It works in Photoshop and Illustrator, so it's an InDesign Bug.
