Indents not holding after page break

InDesign CC 2018, though I logged this bug for 2017 as well. It may also have existed as far back as CS6. I had hoped it would be fixed in this release.
Create a paragraph style that has a left indent and set text in that paragraph style. Set enough text to flow onto a second page.
The text should retain the left indent after the page break.
Sometimes, the first line of text after the page break does not retain the indent.

Hello All,

The fix for this issue is now available in InDesign’s latest version, id 14.0.3.
Please update your InDesign to try out the fix.

Note:
If you open a file which already has this issue, in the new version, you may continue to see the issue.
To resolve such cases, you may SAVE AS the file or do a force text re-composition as the workaround

However, all the new files created in the new version will not have this issue anymore.

The fix for this issue is now available in the beta builds of InDesign.
Please note that if you open a file which already has this issue, in this beta build, you will continue to see the issue. However, all the new files created in the beta build will not have this issue anymore.

For the existing file with this issue, you may SAVE AS the file or do a force text re-composition as the workaround

You can download the latest beta build from Download section of InDesign Prerelease portal.

1. Go to adobeprerelease.com
2. Log in with your Adobe Id.
3. Once logged in, search for “InDesign CC Prerelease” program in the list.
4. Click on the program to join the same.
5. You can now download the build (14.0.3.418) from “Builds and Plugins” section on the page.
6. The steps for installing the build can be found in the release notes

We have faced the series First Line Indent issue in the InDesign version (CC2017-2019). The first line indent is not working if we have the span column text in the InDesign file. It will get the indentation after made any changes in the paragraph. Here the example InDesign file for your checking.

It is indeed very annoying. The problem never went away for me, even after clean installs on new computers.

While it doesn't fix some bugs—like disappearing footnote rules—forcing InDesign to recompose all stories has fixed this problem for me (albeit temporarily; if you edit the text, all bets on whether or not the fix stays are off ). Use command-option-/ [Mac] or ctrl-alt-/ [Windows].

This problem hadn't happened to me in ages, but now that I am upgraded to v 14.0 it has started again. A 440-page document that was perfectly fine the day before now is peppered with paragraphs not honoring the left indent setting at the top of a page.

Same after column break. This problem has been round for a long time.

Text elements with left indents don't always retain the left indent after an InDesign-inserted page break (that is, a break that is managed by InDesign's internal functions, not breaks that have been inserted manually by the user.

1. Adobe InDesign 12.1.0.56
2. Create a paragraph style that has a left indent and set text in that paragraph style. Set enough text to flow onto a second page.
3. The text should retain the left indent after the page break.
4. Sometimes, the first line of text after the page break does not retain the indent.
