With Adjust Layout ON, Text Frames shrink to extremely tiny size on changing Margins.
I am working in Adobe InDesign CC 2019 14.0.1. When I have a manuscript already flowed into my document and try to adjust the margins on the master page with Adjust Layout enabled, when the new margins are applied to the document, all the existing text boxes "disappear." From what I can tell, they have been resized down to an infinitely small point in the middle of the spread. Obviously, this is not useful. I used to be able to adjust the margins across an entire book-length document in one go with layout adjustment, and the text on every page would be re-fit to the new margins. The attached screenshots show the before and after on a spread (you can see the tiny text box in the middle in the after).
Am I missing a step here, or is this a bug?

Today (2023 June 8th) still the bog of auto resizing text boxes a REALLY big issue !!
- Here french speaking user - sorry for my english ^^-I'm ID 18.2.1. MAC Os Monterey 12.0
- Very often, double clic on a text box angle just does not resize the text box as it did before (for many many long years). This basic fonctionality used to work perfectly for years, but starts to bug very very often !!
- Auto resizing of text box (you can access with a CMD+B or Object > Text bloc option) bugs very very often. The text box may often resize to ridiculously large size (including a lot of empty space - wich is by the way we just do not want by using this fonctionality !!)@ID developpement team : Please what did you do on this feature ? Why does text box resizing (auto or not) does not work any more properly ? This is a VERY CRITICAL feature (above all when you try to work with auto resizing on global pages and/or page templates or again liquid page dispositions.......
Please fix this very soon ;-)

OMG thank god I found this group. I thought I was going crazy. I am a book designer so this really screwed me up and I am on an older imac so on Sierra. This is ridiculous! I have to completely redesign this book in ID 2018.

Seriously!!?? This means I have to update my system to fix this bug!!?? I’m on OS X Sierra (10.12.6) and InDesign, Id 15.0 will only work with OS X High Sierra 10.13!!! Come on Adobe! Are you in on it with Apple for planned obsolescence to force us to update! At the price we pay every month here in Canada!?

I'm having the same issue. It used to work just fine and now it is completely broken. It's been so much time since reported. Is there any development on the issue?

CC19. Sobald man unter Ränder und Spalten "Layoutanpassung" aktiviert, verschwinden Rahmen auf der Musterseite, wie Pagina oder Zeilenzähler

Bug issue where pages with multiple frames of content condenses into one tiny frame in the center of the spread. (Photo attached of result)
Page tool and liquid layout features work just fine, so this is only happening with adjust layout.
Additionally, please add a feature that allows a facing page design to be converted to a landscape design (this would be useful when specifically converting printed designs for slideshows/epubs

I'm getting the same issue and it's driving me mad as it's a pain to find workarounds. Everything worked find in previous InDesign versions with resizing margins.

Yup, I'm getting this as well. It must be a bug. Adobe, please bring back the old Layout Adjustment!
