  1. Footnotes Still Disappearing: Please Update Your Customers

    Adobe: The bug described in "[Performance] Footnote disappears" back in October 2019 is still plaguing users.

    You can see from the comments that this issue is causing massive headaches for publishing teams.

    The last update from Adobe is from March 2020 and claims that this bug is under review.

  2. Page transitions not working when published online to Adobe

    When I publish online from InDesign, any page transitions that have been applied to pages do not work. The pages simply appear. All animations work well, but the page push that I set as a transition does not work. Hopefully someone has a solution for this? If I use a plugin like in5 I can get the desired effect. Hopefully Adobe can add the same functionality that In5 has.   3. Spell Check does not work after installing InDesign 15.0.2

    Dear Adobe Team,
    in our office we use In Design from several years without nothing problems.

    Yesterday we had updated the version 15.0.2. After that, the spell-check (we use the Italian language) don’t work if we import text in a existing document.

    But if we import text in a new document, the spell-check work without problems.

    The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – that is, InDesign 15.0.3.

  5. Hebrew Text Bugs in InDesign 2025

    1. Incorrect cursor movement with arrow keys in Visual movement mode: When working with Hebrew text in Visual movement mode, the arrow keys do not move the cursor in the expected or desired direction. This issue disrupts editing and text arrangement in Hebrew.

  6. Opening file in Adobe InDesign CC 2018 prevents same file from opening in InCopy CC 2018

    InCopy CC 2018 users get kicked out of file if file is opened in InDesign CC 2018. InCopy CC 2018 cannot open files create in InDesign CC 2018. See attachment.

  8. 14.03 still will not activate Adobe fonts!

  9. Adobe Indesign server doesn't indicate license issues

    An Indesign Server setup was no longer running properly. The soap client could no longer connect to the instances.

    However, the Windows Indesign server service was running. There were no errors in the Windows event viewer. Rebooting the service and server had no effect.

    Upon manual startup, errors were displayed stating that the license could not be verified. After opening Internet access, everything worked fine again.

    THIS SHOULD BE FIXED:
    - The Windows event viewer should show license errors
    - The Indesign server service should not be running if there are license issues. It should shutdown again. Why is the…

  10. Drag-and-Drop text editing in Layout view problems

    I was working on InDesign layout with Word text with some text originally in Arabic - with some numbers (dates) only for a reason I cannot understand, but it was a text about oriental philosophy... I discovered that my body text paragraph style (for a strange reason) used Adobe Worlld-Ready Single-Line Composer (it was not my choice!). That selection made the one letter Drag-and-Drop editor in the Layout view not work correctly. When I changed the composer to a simple paragraph composer everything is OK again...

    The export specific pages of a document to PDF, you have to enter them after selecting the ‘Range’ option.

    As for the name shown in the field when you select the ‘Create Separate PDF Files’ option, it is just for display, letting you know how the individual pdf files get named upon export.

  15. Unable to Import PDF Comments from Acrobat 2019 Shared Review

    PDFs with shared Reviews running off the Adobe Document Cloud are not able to import comments into InDesign.

    Since Acrobat 2019, we are no longer able to use our own review server. There's now a big blue button to share the review using the Adobe Document Cloud. While this simplifies using Shared Reviews, the review PDF is now hosted and maintained by Adobe. Then, there is no longer a way to import the comments into InDesign.

    We have released an update for InDesign CC2019 (v 14.0.2) which contains some stability fixes. If you are not already on 14.0.2, then we recommend you to update to latest version.

    If you still face a crash issue even after updating, please submit the crash report to us.
    (Guidelines to submit crash are available at https://helpx.adobe.com/in/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html )

    Also, start a new thread providing the necessary information to reproduce the crash and send the
    information to santalwa@adobe.com as well.

    • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when InDesign crashed?
    • Error snapshot or video recording of the issue.
    • Is the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, can you please share the document(s)/asset(s) with us?
    • Does trashing InDesign Preferences and Cache help resolve the issue? Please take a backup of the same before trashing them.

  17. Unable to package a file to a server after upgrading to Mojave.

    Dear Adobe,
    Yesterday we upgraded to 10.14 Mojave and I am not able to package files from windows server. Indesign freezes every time.
    I can make packeges from my MAC or from external hard drives. The network is working correctly. On High Sierrea everything worked properly.

    Hello All,

    We have concluded our investigation into the issue and found that the issue is specific to few versions of MacOS 10.14.×.
    As a part of our investigation we had reached out to many of you, where many of you have confirmed that the issue gets resolved after upgrading to MacOS 10.14.5.

    Note:
    If you are NOT using MacOS 10.14.5 and still facing this issue, please upgrade your MacOs to 10.14.5 version.
    In case you continue to face the same issue after the upgrade, you may reach out to us at sharewithid@adobe.com.

    For any other problem related to packaging workflows please create a new thread.

    We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many bug fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

    If you still face this issue even after updating, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

    • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when the issue occurred?
    • Video recording of the issue?
    • Is(Are) the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, could you provide the document(s)/asset(s) to us? Please package the entire document (To package the document, choose File → Package…)
