  1. InDesign 2019 keeps crashing when I change the document size in the properties panel.

    Every time I want to change the document/page size in the properties panel so I can have different page sizes in the document InDesign crashes. Over and over.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

  2. The Stroke Panel Table Cell Stroke picker box is adjusting other Workspace panels in its shared column

    My saved workspace has the Stroke Panel at the top of a column of panels and when I create a table and click into it to change its stroke, the Table Cell Stroke picker in the Stroke Panel expands. When I click outside of the table and the Table Cell Stroke picker goes away, the panels that expanded collapse, but other panels below stay in place. If this is done repeatedly, the other panels' locations/sizes would be altered permanently needing the Workspace to be reset.

  3. 'Find / Replace' window does not appear.

    When I press the 'find/replace' menu, the find window does not appear.

  5. Hyperlink shows up grey in hyperlinks panel despite the URL NOT working

    When using the hyperlinks panel, links will show up grey when the URL is non existent, they don't show up as red.
    The screen shot shows group 42 which is grey, when it should be a red error.

    Numbers keys on extended keyboard not recognized when trying to fit window e.g.Ctrl+0.
    InDesign should have the same fit to window or 100% functions as Illustrator or Photoshop.
    The only thing that does work on the extended numeric keypad is the + and - keys.
    WHY?????

  7. InDesign crashes on Hyperlink panel open

    Latest version of InDesign 2018.

    I'm trying to add hyperlink to a text but it leads to a program crash. This happens only for 3 close lines of text in a one single file. The file has been sent to mr. Sushil's email.

  8. Text not active after clicking on pdf markup comment panel

    After clicking on the comment in the pdf comments panel, and applying the comment (or selecting the comment after auto-applying), sometimes I have to click again in the actual text frame to start typing any adjustments i need to make. It would be great if I could just type in the text frame after clicking on the comment, without having to again click in the text frame.

  9. [UI] Edit in Textmode – window won't open

    When opening the "Edit in Textmode" / "Im Textmodus bearbeiten" (cmd + Y) the window will not show up.

    I have tested this on several macs in our company with different kind of additional monitor setups or no extra monitor attached.

    InDesign Version 15.1.1

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Take what ever textframe you want => Cmd + Y or rightclick "Im Textmodus bearbeiten" / "Edit in Textmode"
    2. The Window will not show up and you might think it is broken...
    3. It shows up when you go to New => Page for example (Or probably update the UI in…

  10. Pallette pop-up menus appear on dual monitor

    I'm using InDesign CC (latest version) on a Macbook Pro 15" (OS 10.13.3) together with a Dell 24" monitor. Most of my pallettes (except the very basic ones) are on my Macbook, while I have my workfield on the bigger monitor. What happens is that the pop-up menus of the pallettes i keep on the on the Macscreen appear on the big monitor, for instance all the transparancy-options. Very annoying and time-consuming!
    I tried resetting the prefs, re-installed InDesign, but no effect. Does anybody recognize this and have a fix? Thanks a lot!

  11. Indesign 16.1 Insert new cross reference takes 20 minutes for the panel to load

    Indesign version: 16.1
    Steps to reproduce: Insert new cross reference
    Expected result: New Cross-Reference panel should load within an acceptable delay
    Actual Result: New Cross-Reference pane takes extremely long time to load.

    To add a new cross reference takes about 20 minutes for the panel to load, while editing an existing cross reference is normal. The issue is common to many documents.

    I tried to go back to versions 16.0 and 16.01, but had the same issue.

    I have used this feature in the past and every thing was normal.

  12. Menu/panel bugs

    Indesign 2022 v17.4 (up to date with latest version)
    Upon opening indesign, resetting menus and preferences, restarting, etc. Issues have been ongoing for at least a week.

    Align menu items are offset so that the ones at the bottom can't be used.
    Paragraph and character menu fields are offset, can't be selected or edited and randomly cause indesign to crash and close completely when clicked.

  13. Window size and position is forgotten

    Even though another entry entitled "InDesign in Windows ALWAYS forgets app size and position!" is marked as "Fixed/Solved" elsewhere in these pages, the issue is not fixed. In fact, it is more persistent in the latest 16.2.1 "update"... plus, ID crashes way more often now as well... I know this is another issue but for me when InDesign does not work as advertised, the whole thing –crashes, window size and position– is ONE issue: Adobe InDesign is buggy, more than ever, period.

  14. String "%extensions.comments.panel.title" is showing for Review panel name.

    In the newest version of app indesign there is an untranslated string.

  15. Disproportionately large window "Tables of contents"

    Hello
    I encountered a bug in Indesign when opening the application window for creating or modifying tables of contents, indeed it is disproportionately large, it is impossible to reduce it.

  16. spell check window opening partially off-screen InDesign 2025

    When I try to launch spell check it launches partially off-screen. I cannot use the spell check, resize it or even close it.

    I can close indesign and re-open and it closes the window. I have tried restarting the machine and opening it on an extended window but it still opens in the top left corner of my primary screen with the top half of the window off-screen.

  17. Data Merge panel doesn't import UTF-8 data when selecting "UTF-8" encoding option

    I’m using Adobe InDesign v. 20.5.0.48 on the macOS v. 15.6.1. I have a “merge.csv” data file encoded in UTF-8 that imports into the Data Merge panel when I select “ASCII” as the encoding but, unsurprisingly, doesn’t display some special characters correctly. When I select “UTF-8” as the encoding option, which should remedy this problem, the file fails to import!

  18. eyedropper tool doesn't work any more and scrollbar disappears in color panel

    Since i update MacOS Sierra (10.12.6 version), when i try to copy a text style with the eyedropper tool, it doesn't work. Instead to copy the right style, the text becomes always white.
    Other problem: in the color palette, there is no more the scroll bar: haw can i see the colours continue below the end of the window??
    And also the indicator of the color type (rgb, cmyk, pantone...) doesn't appear next to the single color.
    Other problem: sometimes when i open in design, it doesn't show the palettes. I have to restart several times. I verified the…

  19. Alternate text added to graphic missing in exported PDF when using Articles panel.

    1.) Apply alternate text to graphic using Object > Object Export Options.

    2.) Anchor graphic into frame

    3.) Add containing text frame to Articles panel.

    4.) Export to PDF including tags

    The result is that the exported PDF file doesn't have the alternate text applied

  20. Strange black window in InDesign CC 14.0

    There is a strange bug since my latest upgrade to 14.0. Each time I import an image into a frame (cmd D) it appears a black window. Very annoying. Now way to get rid of it except shutting everything down, quitting InDesign and restarting. What's wrong?
