InDesign Strips Formatting When Pasting Text from Google Docs
>>Description:
>
> When copying formatted text from Google Docs and pasting it directly into Adobe InDesign, all formatting (such as bold, italics, font size, and links) is lost. However, if the same text is first pasted into Microsoft Word or TextEdit, the formatting is preserved and can then be successfully pasted into InDesign. This suggests the issue is specific to InDesign’s handling of clipboard data from Google Docs. As a workaround, I currently have to use an intermediate application like Word, which slows down my workflow.>Steps to Reproduce:

Inline input for non-Latin text does not work
>>>Clicking the "advanced type" preference to "Use inline input for non-Latin text" does not work. The annoying popup frames make it impossible to type Japanese at a decent pace. Things worked fine in CC 2017. but someone forgot to do something here, it seems.

PDF comment: need Insert Text at Cursor tool
>>>People who are reviewing now only can add a sticky note, , highlight text, underline text (and add a comment), strikeout text and draw. Adding text. The regular Comment toolbar also contains the Insert Text at Cursor tool. This must be added to the review features when documents are sent for review via the new Send for Review feature.

Word Lookup / Search with Google for text
>>>How about adding a 'word lookup' OR 'search with Google' for words while working with text copy in Indesign and InCopy? I know there is a default dictionary integrated, but I'm talking about the way you can search any sentence or word in the most browsers just by right-clicking.
>>Basically, just a feature to add a search engine for text lookups directly from Indesign and InCopy - it will help a lot working with text copies and editing text stories directly from the program.
>>Merci beaucoup !

Crash when placing DOCX with character styles
>>>Steps:
>
> 1. Attempt to place place Word.docx in an InDesign 2020 document.
> 2. InDesign spends a long time parsing character styles.
> 3. Resaved Word file as .doc file and was able to import it. I don't know what information (if any) in the Word file was lost. This is not an ideal solution.>Link above "How to Submit Crash Report" is dead. I have previously submitted several crash reports through the InDD/system interface.

[ID-4208319] InDesign crashes while working with Hyperlink
>>>For some reason there is 1 page number on my TOC that keeps making Indesign crash when I try applying a hyperlink to it. Everything else hyperlinked just fine. Also, I tried to delete the text so I could maybe retype the number but that also makes my application crash.

Hanging Indent plus Left Justify makes words float out of text frame
>>I often use bulleted lists with the commmand/backslash (hanging indent) tool. If the text is aligned left, no problem. But when I use left justify, it sends some of the words off to the right — outside of the text frame! Please see examples below.
>>The text samples here were using Adobe Paragraph Composer. But when I switched it to World-Ready it fixed it!
>>I've been having this problem for a while. Before I updated to InDesign 2018 and after the update as well. I'm running El Capitan 10.11.6 on a Mid 2011 iMac.

InDesign crashing when you try and copy and paste with GPU turned on
>>>InDesign crashing when you try and copy and paste with GPU turned on. Turned off works normally

To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received an email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.
If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.—

InDesign performance issues: text tool
>>>InDesign performance issues (version 15.1.1 x64 - 32GB RAM installed - Win 10 - Adobe Creative Cloud).

> From the previous version the Text tool slows down the program considerably; it is not possible to work with at least two open files (I work with multiple open files, never a problem).

Endnotes in text flow - Not on a separate page
>>>Import endnotes as plain text in the text flow. NOT on a separate page! How hard is this to understand? I groom text in one document and then copy and paste the magazine article/book chapter into another Indesign file. I can't do this if you put the endnotes in a separate text flow. It's really terrible! Dynamic notes has just been a complete failure!

>
> There are obvious workarounds, but a solution to this would be really convenient.
> See attached screenshots for example.70 votesWe're happy to announce that the fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign - version 17.2 that is available from Creative Cloud Desktop application.

Inconsistent Text Wrap across two column layout
>>Text wrap is applied inconsistently from column to column, i.e. text will offset by uneven amounts in adjacent columns. This happens for all types of Text Wrap except for the Jump Wrap, which does not misalign the top two lines of text!
…
> The only fix I could manage was to Force All Lines to the Baseline Grid, and redraw the bottom Text Wrap line unevenly for the two columns. The images attached show first the problem and second the fix.
> I believe this started happening with the introduction of CC versions, but I'm not 100% sure of11 votesThanks for reporting.
