Crash when exporting
Every time I try to export my document to a PDF InDesign 12.1 crashes. I've quit and restarted the software, and restarted my computer. I have no pending updates. I'm not sure why the program crashes every time I try to export. I've tried to go around the issue by packaging the file, exporting directly to PDF, or getting a PDF from a "print" operation, but nothing seems to work. It crashes every time.
To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.
If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

I have been using InDesign since it came out in 1999. I always have the latest version. Creative Cloud says I'm up to date, so I'm using 14.0.2 x64.
I have been working on a 352-page book since January 28, 1999, exporting to PDF every 10 pages, but only the most recent 10 pages, not the whole book up to that point, for the author's review. Every single time after exporting, InDesign crashes. About half the time it sends a crash report.
It's easy to duplicate this crash simply by exporting to PDF.
Last night I exported to PDF the complete 352-page book. Not only did InDesign crash, but it would not re-open the file. It also would not close. I had to use Ctrl-Alt-Delete to bring up Task Manager to end the application.
When it crashes, it also gives me the warning that the file can be automatically recovered. When I select yes for auto recovery, I get a warning that the file might be corrupted. Open anyway? Yes.
Twice so far the file has been corrupted. The first time, the first 38 pages of a 140-page file had been deleted. I had to spend a week re-creating them.
The second time, with a 289-page file, 22 pictures and their links had been deleted. I had to to in and replace, re-crop, and re-format the pictures, another 2 days of time inconveniently wasted.
Last night's PDF export took 45 minutes on a heavy duty PC computer built specifically for photo and video editing, and book publishing.
The last thing I need is for the complete book file to be completely corrupted on my final export of about a 3-GB publisher's printing file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

same here. can't find a solution. Maybe they are forcing me into CC from CS6. I'll finish this project I've been on for over two years, and find an alternative. I'm fed up! and can't afford CC. No support for my years of being loyal. Frustrating!!!!
