Unable to drag nodes text frame
>>>InDesign 15.0.2, running Catalina 10.15.4
>>I can easily add/remove nodes to a text frame but I have tremendous difficulty trying to move a node with the direct selection cursor. When I click and drag the node, the entire frame moves, indicating the node never got selected. A node seems to only manage to get selected about 10% of the time. I am not doing anything special for that to happen. It randomly works and 90% of the time it doesn't. Very frustrating.

Mixed usage Left-to-right and Right-to-left text in the same paragraph
>>Ms Word files can contain Right-To-Left and Left-To-Right text in the same paragraph. When copy/pasting the text into Indesign, only one of the 2 textdirections is displayed correctly.
>>Creating the text frame which uses the Right-to-Left text direction, and using the World Ready composer, the corresponding text is displayed well. Inline phrases in English, are displayed wrong. Changing the composer to regular Single line composer fixes the English phrases, but messes up the foreign language.
>>When using different paragraphs, each with the corresponding composer, all works well. When a combination is used in a single paragraph,

Text rendered bold when using transparencies
>>>When using transparent boxes or png images, InDesign will randomly render some text bold. This occurs both on screen and when printing. The only way to avoid it is by not using transparencies, which is annoying. People have been complaining about this since 2011! Get your sh*t together adobe. Come on.

text
>>>I am having text problems when regular text is near an image and the text which is within the boundary box of the image then text prints out bold. It does not appear bold on screen and the font is definetly regular but ive done some test and where the boudnary image box over hangs into text it then prints out bold mid word or wherever the image boudnary box is. This happens on psd images which have been deppetched and have no background.

selecting text boxes
>>>InDesign 20.2 Mac M1 Sequoia 15.4.1. When I click a text box to select it, nothing happens until I jiggle the mouse. When this happens the corner boxes appear. However, many times when I click, nothing appears selected. This bug is unsettling. This is why I prefer to use InDesign 19 for important jobs. The text block in the attached screen shot has been single clicked.

Online Copy Editing for Cloud based InDesign file
>>>The feature to export for InCopy isn't available in InDesign Beta. Will InCopy be available via cloud based InDesign files in future, or could there a new online copy editor? A more simple and paired back version of InCopy online just to adjust text within Cloud based InDesign file?

Text Variables Do Not Work with Auto-Size Text Boxes
>>When I create a text box that has auto-size (width only) enabled and then insert a text variable (e.g. "modification date"), the entire text variable is collapsed into the width of a single character. It is as if the dynamic width of the text variable causes a bug in the calculation of auto-size, such that the width cannot be determined, and so it all collapses into the width of a single character instead, with all of the characters rendered one on top of the other.
>>Very disappointing bug, because dynamic text variables and auto-size are a natural fit

Text-fields behave strange after InDesign 2020 update
>>Since the release of InDesign 2020 there frequently appears a circumstantial bug, that is not reasonable in any way:
>>When i double click (edit) or just copy any text-box, suddenly the content is moving downwards (about 3pt), so that it disappears in overflow text and has to be realigned. It even happens when I copy and paste those Elements or duplicate the whole page, so one of the most fundamental functions became futile (image "Adobe-Indesign-Bug-duplicate.jpg")!
>>Additional the maximum height of the box, before the text disappears in overset, isn't depending on the contents height like in older

Font disappears when size of text is changed
>>When working in a text box and changing the size of the font, the text disappears altogether. If I change the font to a different one, the text reappears, then change font back to the one I used originally and text disappears again. (For example: changed font from default myriad pro to Ultra--text still showing; changed font size--text disappears; change font to Roboto (or anything else)--text reappears.)

Links export to PDF creates "Null Alt Text" attribute in tagged PDF
>>When an ID 15 file with hyperlinks is exported to Tagged PDF, unless you assign alternative text to the Links in ID, the Link tags will have a "null text" attribute which prevents the content of the Link tag from being read by a screen reader. This is a problem for several reasons. Not everyone chooses to add alternative text to hyperlinks. It's a UA, but not a WCAG 2 requirement. An automated accessibility checker like Acrobat's or even PAC is not going to flag this. Most people do not do a "Jaws check" of the PDF they are

Indesign crashes when pressing the hot keys for copy
>>>Indesign 18.0 (Apple Silicon/Intel)
>
> Mac OS Monterey Version 12.6
> Macbook Pro (16 Inch, 2021)
> Chip Apple M1 Max>Brand new Macbook Pro, brand new installation of Indesign. It crashes every time I press hotkeys for copy. When it re-opens it crashes again. Everything is delayed and slow when I reopen, so I save, close Indesign and re-open. I get a good 5-10 minute run and it crashes again. Crashed 10 times today.

Long Text Variables kern instead of return to new line
>>>Indesign 2020
>
> When using text variables with a bounding box that is too short for the line to fit, the line of dynamic text will squeeze together in order to fit instead of dropping to a new line. It would be nice if the line will drop down to a new line as normal text does in a text box.8 votes -
Applying character or paragraph style causes eventual crash

Exported text missing Endnotes
>>>Exported text missing Endnotes
>
> We work with Footnotes and Endnotes a lot. And when everything is OK, but after going in print, the text is exported so that the autor can edit it for a next release (Law text and commented law so it changes often). I was very happy when InDesign did begin to work with Endnotes but ... it does not export them. Not even in Version 15.0.1. Footnotes are exported, Endnotes are missing. This is a big bug or an even bigger oversight.4 votes -
new document preview crash

> Hard returns only (soft returns converted)16 votesHi,
Thanks for your patience all this while. We investigated on this issue and below are our findings. The problem with this bug is related to ages old standards difference between different operating systems.
On Mac (OS X and later) there is only one way to identify line end i.e by using a single character LF, while on Windows (and DOS before it) uses a pair of CR and LF characters to terminate lines.
Hence when writing them down to any text file these characters are written as such.
Windows, can therefore dedicate LF to understand soft return separately while Mac cannot do any
such thing. Because of this when we read it back from the text file the LF character is interpreted as line break (or new para) on Mac and soft return on Windows. These files require conversion when moved from one OS to another
Consider this…

>>>I'm running High Sierra (10.13.1) and InDesign CC 2018 (November release), and MS Office 2017 (Version 15.40). I have been trying to copy text from Word into text frames in InDesign, and for the past few days, every time I hit Command-V in InDesign, the program immediately freezes and stops responding. No matter how long I wait, the only way out is to force quit.

Thaana text properly composed in 14.0.3 messed after converting to 15.0
>>>Weird changes in the text after converting file to 15.0. (Upon opening a file with Thaana text) see attached images.
>>Diacritics completely messed up AFTER recomposing (change alignment or reapply World-Ready composer) See attached images.
>>Cannot use double/triple-clicking to select text composed in the new composer. (can select paragraphs already composed in the previous version, if no changes are made to that paragraph.)
>>To see it in a new document: create a new document, copy and paste Thaana text (ex: Dhivehi Wikipedia), apply World-Ready composer.
