Non Breaking Space is smaller than regular space when text is full justified with Adobe World ready Paragraph Composer
- Adobe InDesign Middle Eastern Version, 2019-2020
Non Breaking Space is smaller than regular space when text is full justified with Adobe World ready Paragraph Composer
Steps to reproduce the issues
2.1 Create a paragraph with some lines
2.2. Define it with: Paragraph pannel>Justification>Composer>Adobe World Ready Paragraph Composer
2.3 Full justify the Paragraph and change one space to non breaking space.Expected result
Non breaking space should be the same width like all the spaces in the same line.Actual result
Non Breaking Space is smaller than regular space in the same lineTest file, screenshot, video or GIF capturing the issue (optional)
There is no workaround unless the document is not in Hebrew and then you can choose the Adobe paragraph Composer instead of the World ready Paragraph composer.

I have created a Bug report for this issue as well: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/41793187-bug-since-cs6-nonbreaking-space-s-issue-wit
The problem is not that the Nonbreaking Space is ›smaller›, the problem is that it does not adjust its size as it should. -

We've run across this problem as well in non-ME InDesign. It does seem related to font, but I'm wondering if it's not related to the fact that OTF fonts uses the width of the glyph 00A0 for non breaking space, whereas Type 1 fonts use the width of a regular space. If the font has a differing space for 00A0, then a non breaking space will not work as expected and the font is at fault. However, it seems another layer of interaction happens when World Ready composer is used. As noted in the bug, the non breaking space will behave in Paragraph Composer, but incorrect in World Ready. This should be fixed.

Can confirm that this is also a bug in non ME Indesign versions.
But apparently the width of the non breaking space depends on the font.
In some fonts the nonbreaking space is narrow in world ready paragraph composer.
In other typefaces it is the other way around.
