Fonts' OpenType features not working in Composite fonts in InDesign
When using any Hebrew font in InDesign, the diacritics (nikuds) are displayed in their correct location. This location is set within the fonts by using OpenType features such as ccmp (for glyph substitution) and mark (for glyph positioning). InDesign recognizes and applies these features.
When this font is used as part of a Composite font in InDesign, the result is quite different. It seems like the ccmp feature is honored but the mark feature is not.
The diacritics shift and the length of the text increases. Some of this fluctuation can be mitigated by Diacritics Position feature in InDesign…

Packaging without fonts folder
I use Adobe InDesign 17.0.1 versionin Windows. I had to reinstall the program because of my device is new. My problem is during packaging. I use my own font (not an Adobe font) and I have permission to use it. The font family has installed on my device, but the fonts folder is still missing from the final folder after packaging. 'Copy font' is selected during packaging.

European characters recognized as Kanjis in composite fonts
I'm editing a Chinese document containing certain European characters such as ē and í.
I've created a composite font that uses Roboto for numbers and latin alphabets, and Noto Sans CJK for the Chinese characters.Recently I noticed some of the European characters are incorrectly recognized as Kanjis, and are set to Noto Sans CJK instead of Roboto.
By testing my composite font settings, I confirmed that these misbehaving characters are being recognized as Kanjis (the top row in the composite font window).
- InDesign version: 17.3
- Create a composite font as shown in Screen Shot 1
- I expect all European…

Activated font could't use in some InDesign-Documents (and in this special documents never again)
Until an update of Indesign CC2017 up the actually CC2018 version I have sometimes problems with using activated fonts in individual documents.
In these special documents it happens that suddendly Indesign say the font you used before its missing even if it is activated.
It's in the list of fonts, you can choose it, but in this Document you could never use it in anytime again.
The only solution is, to build up a new document and copy all pages or elements in it. This is a realy worse thing to do, especially if you have Dokuments with…

ID 14.0.2: Fonts menu STILL collapses while browsing through the list of fonts.
Despite upgrading to ID 14.0.2, the same bug happens as described there: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/35736199-typekit-or-adobe-fonts-or-fonts-menu-collapses-w
The bug happens with my personnal font collection. So far I haven't used TypeKit. I'm using FontXplorer 6.0.6. Last High Sierra version on a iMac 3,1 Ghz Late 2011.
On top of that, the font selection tool skips some fonts while browsing the fontlist.
This is an ABSOLUTE nightmare.
Thanks for your help.

Fonts Not Loading
Font loading is sporadic in InDesign 15.1.1 on macOS Catalina 10.15.5
Fonts that were working just fine yesterday suddenly won't load. I've cleared caches to no avail.
This affects InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop... however, Photoshop seems to be hit or miss... sometimes they load, sometimes they don't.

Indesign not reading fonts correctly.
I've been using our corporate fonts (Concon and Avenir), successfully for months. Using latest updates from CC Indesign and Photoshop and Illustrator. Never any font conflict issues.
All of a sudden last month one document in Indesign stopped recognising the fonts. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling both the fonts and the program apps. I've tried installing the fonts in Adobe folders as well as on my PC.
It's super frustrating as every time I open the document, I need to go back and correct all the fonts. It let's me resolve them by re-selecting a font…

PDF Export causing font/item misalignment
InDesign 16.2.1 x64
There seems to be an issue caused by Exporting PDFs created by Steinberg Dorico. The expected result can be seen in the file:Hancock - Organ Album AJ - Toccata PDF from Dorico no issues
look at measures 25 and 31 for comparision to
Hancock - Organ Album AJ - Toccata PDF from inDesign issues
there is a clear misalignment of stems with noteheads and tails. This only happens when you Export out of inDesign, the PDF created by Dorico is as it should be.
Any idea why this is happening and can you do anything about…1 vote -
[ID-4257737]InDesign 15.1.1 - Fonts not activating - stuck on spinning circle background tasks
I have a problem on InDesign 15.1.1 - My Creative Cloud fonts are not activating... How can I sort this out? It's stuck on the spinning blue circle of doom - the background task has been saying queued for hours now.
I need my fonts not sure what to do?? Help.
26 votesTry closing the document that shows the Background Tasks as queued. If the Auto-Activate Adobe Fonts option has been selected and you are connected to the internet, fonts in your document should get auto-activated.
Please try once again and let us know.—

Indesign incredibly slow or crashes with more than one document open
InDesign (15.0.2) becomes almost unusable with more than (1) document open. Trying to copy text or images from one document to the next or just work in one of the documents while the other is open results in minutes-long wait times (or complete crash) to even select a text box, type a character, etc.
Steps to reproduce:
Open INDD doc (either on network or desktop)
Open second INDD doc
Attempt to edit text in either doc or copy over text from one document to the nextSet-up info:

We recommend you upgrade to either InDesign 2020(v15.1.2.226) or to the latest InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) for the fix.
If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

Option to change the color of bitmap fonts
We need a way to change the color for white/grayscale bitmap fonts.
We often use Bitmap fonts for the better texture we can get from them; however, not having the option to change the color of the font, means we have to change the color within photoshop, then either export separate images or entire fonts for each color we use. This is rather inefficient and slows down our process. Having the ability change the color of a white or grayscale bitmap font would be very useful.

Image color settings get lost when duplicating image or when data merging
If a placed image has an icc-profile different from the documents' profile, that profile assigment will get lost when the image is being duplicated. The same thing is going to happen if the document is being data merged for variable data printing. The image will have a wrong profile assignment in the additional records when creating the merged document. Only the first record will be properly printed, the duplicates won't. Test files attached.
6 votesBy default color profiles are not maintained while copy-pasting and this behavior exists since CS6.
To enable the behavior of maintaining a color profile while performing copy-paste action, we need to apply the required settings at the application/document level under the color settings dialog from the edit menu.
To do so, open color settings and set color management policies for CMYK to preserve embedded profiles.Closing the issue as designed.

Arabic exported to EPUB (Fixed Layout) doesn't show properly
• InDesign 15.1.2 / Mac OS 10.15.6
• Create an InDesign document with Arabic content. Apply any Arabic font.
• When exporting to EPUB (Fixed Layout) we should see the Arabic text appear in the epub viewer in similar manner as it shows in InDesign document.
• The exported epub document is viewed in Apple's Books application, and Adobes Digital Editions 4.5 with similar problems in both epub viewers, where all Arabic text is either invisible or messed up and shifted from its location.
• Attached images from InDesign document, and epub file which was exported from InDesign.

Glyphs automatically replaced with indesign 15.0.1 update
After updating to version 15.0.1 indesign replaced automatically one of the glyphs of the Source Sans Pro font.
If the same file is openend with a previous version of indesign, glyph returns to its original appearance.6 votes -
Superscript and subscript buttons do not produce the font’s superscript and subscript figures
Clicking on the superscript/subscript buttons scales the selected glyphs to a seemingly random size, placing them on a default height,
* ignoring all of the dedicated OS/2 values in the font: subscriptXOffset, subscriptYOffset, subscriptXSize, subscriptYSize, superscriptXOffset, superscriptYOffset, superscriptXSize, superscriptYSize,
* and ignoring subs, sinf and sups OpenType features in the font.1 vote -
error message about activating fonts constantly flicking up, then disappearing.
the error message is constantly just flicking on screen and disappearing. it even pops up when using other programs in front of in design.
could fonts just go into memory once you open a doc and there is plenty of memory left. to avoid constant font issues. indesign is always telling me fonts that are installed have gone missing, then a few seconds later they come back.
