Cells formatted as Number/Currency etc. in Excel without decimal places or as Date not imported correctly into InDesign.
InDesign CC : 2020 / 15.0.0.155
MacOS : 10.13.6
MS Excel : 16.30 for Mac
We were able since ever (last version ID CC 2019) to import Excel data-cells by InDesign with the placing functionality. With the actual version of InDesign CC 2020 numbers without any decimal places (e.g. 153) are not imported from Excel files and are displayed in InDesign with a "0" - (e.g. 153 imports to InDesign as 0). If the numbers in the Excel files have at least 1 decimal place numbers are imported correctly (e.g. 153.6 imports to InDesign as 153.6). Please fix this InDesign CC 2020 as soon as possible. An please in InDesgin CC 2019 Excel-Numbers with a sign for thousands place (e.g. 2'153) imported with a non correct sign (e.g. 2'153 imports to InDesgin CC 2019 as 2Õ153). Please verify this also.
Many thanks in advance,
 Andre Mueller

commentedHello Ravi Many thanks for updating me with the actual release of InDesign. I appreciate very much, that the issue now fixed. I do not know, if you got my eMail from Nov. 27. 2019. I sent you an example ID file showing that the issue I mentioned before, that was introduced with ID2019 still persists. Now with the acutal official update ID2020_15.0.1.209 the issues is still there. It would be very nice if this issue could also be fixed: "Unfortunately the problem introduced in InDesign 2019 with importing MS Excel table date for number with a thousands delimiter is still not solved e.g. 85'443 imports as 85Õ443 (please see attachments)." best regards, André

commentedThis exact thing is happening to me. It worked fine one day and then I think the last update screwed it up. I also notice the numbers only disappear when you use commas to separate the thousands. Please fix ASAP. There is money on the table with proposals I submit to win business. I need this fixed yesterday just like everyone else.

commentedWhen you import a table with any formatting other than "general" the data value is set to 0 in Indesign. For example, if you imported the attached table, the data values you see in indesign would be 0 for everything other than the first row.

commentedPlease find a solution asap. My deadline is fast approaching. I have same situation on Mac and have tried multiple alternatives but none work. In Excel, I reduced all formulas to values, then copy pasted into basic text editor to remove all formatting. I'm going to try reverting back to 2019 InDesign.

MS Excel : 16.30 for MacWhen importing an Excel sheet containing dates to InDesign, all dates are displayed as zero's: 0/0/0 Any date format fails to import properly.
Only when using formula =text(TODAY();"dd-mm-yy") the date is imported correctly (because I force the date to be imported as literal text)For now that is the workaround. Please correct the bug.

commentedI produce graphics from linked excel spreadsheets for daily sales.
After updating to 2020, the cells with conditional formatting are all showing as 0%. Going back to InDesign 2019 and relinking the spreadsheets brings them up to date.

commentedHaving the same issue here. Appears to work fine in Indesign 2019 but 2020 isn't pulling through sum values. Example of Excel doc and Indesign (2020) table attached.
