Change text & add button on message window when trying to close a file while background task is running
When you try to close a file while a background task is running you get a warning (Screenshot A). The word "cancel" appears there 4 times, so a fast reader would think clicking on "Cancel" will cancel something. But that's wrong. If you click on "Cancel", the window is closing. Nothing else.
So please change the button to "Close" (and in the German version to "Schließen" instead of "Abbrechen") to make clear nothing is cancelled.
In addition to that it would be nice to have a second button that helps the user to get directly to the background task panel.…

Tabbing Sequence in Properties window
When changing an open document's size from Properties window, pressing tab after changing the 'Width' takes you to 'Number of pages' field instead of 'Height' field.
When working quickly this can disrupt productivity, especially when you're waiting to have '297 pages' created instead of simply changing the canvas to 297mm height. A minor but convenient change.

beeing able to save document bounds (document preferences)
I have this problem, that my workspace layout has pallettes docked to the right screenside. With multiple document windows set to non tabbed (see screenshot; red area), the initial opened window will extend under my pallettes (green area), making it impossible to see the scroll bar. Also the document page isnt centered (blue area), and objects on the pasteboard are dissapearing out of sight under my palettes (yellow area).
I have this covered by a start-up script with an event-listener 'afterOpen': app.layoutWindows[0].bounds = [81, 40, 1357, 1762];
But i'd like to see this as…

Import and export Find/Change queries button
I would LOVE to be able to import and export find/change queries from the find/change window, instead of having to go through cumbersome Windows folders to get the same result. A little button besides the save query/delete query would work really well and not be intrusive at all. This would be really helpful for sharing common actions that need to be standardized among various team members without each one having to recreate individual queries and saving them (or going through Windows hidden folders). Thanks!

Pages Window—keep active page in center area of the window
When working on long documents, it would be extremely handy if the Pages Window kept the active page in the center of the window, so the user can see what's behind and ahead. Currently, the Pages Window keep snapping the active page to the most bottom point of the window when I tab to another reference InDesign file—that contains all of the figures, images, and tables—for copy/pasting into long file (academic book). Also, the page numbers of the last pages of the document in the Pages Window are cut off from view.

Allow to resize the Keyboard Shortcuts window
Please make the Keyboard Shortcuts window resizable!
Namely, to make it taller.
Right now it's just too small and requires a lot of annoying scrolling to find the desired menu item.

[ID-4261554] InDesign MacOS Sequoia Window Snapping Feature
I'd appreciate if InDesign would implement window snapping feature as well in macOS Sequoia since all other Adobe apps have this already.

Changing the height of a column individually
I would be nice to be able to change the width/ height of a column individually, this would help making things easier instead of f*ing around with multiple text windows

Make it easier to reorder and group pages.
Not that I want inDesign to be Keynote, but they're kicking butt in the page re-ordering department. I make presentations a lot in inDesign, and re-ordering, nesting and duplicating pages is a huge pain.
In Keynote you can move them around, group them, duplicate sections, nest them and a few other things, with no problem. inDesign's pages window is due for a reboot.13 votes -
Grouped items revert to previous layers when moved then ungrouped
InDesign CC 13.1, Windows 10
When I have a group that contains items from various layers, and I move this to a new layer, when I ungroup those items they revert back to their original layers.
I understand the concept that grouping remembers layers, and I like this feature! It used to bug me that grouping brought everything onto the same layer, sometimes altering the appearance. However this seems like an unintended consequence.
Say I have an item on Layer 1 and an item above it on Layer 2. Grouping these items makes them both "appear" to be on Layer…

Add Preview in New Colour/Gradient Swatch Window
It's strange that one can preview in the Swatch Options window, but not when creating a new colour or gradient swatch.
I'm using 15.1.3 תומך עברית edition.

Searched styles in Quick Apply or Most used styles
Got a lot of styles. Paragraph, Character, etc. styles. The Quick Apply helps to quickly find the the ones i need. So it would be nice that the last (maybe 5) styles that i searched will be on top of that Quick Apply window.
Or create a new window, and put the most used styles in there.

Share for Review: Tracking Resolved Comments
While the Share for Review option is so handy for clients to make edits, it is a nightmare to track what has been implemented because as soon as the edit is resolved it becomes unmapped.
It is very hard to keep track of revisions so I would love a feature to glance back on previous versions (either by highlighting, creating a pdf including comments, or a window that you can click a page to see before and after results) to see where the markups where made. Clicking back to unresolved doesn't work because once a change is made the text…

Make Indesign UI bigger
People have been complaining for years about Indesign's hard to see UI and the inability to make adequate changes. Why is it 2020, and this issue is still unresolved? I shouldn't have to change my Windows UI to make it better, which by the way it doesn't. Attached pic of my display at the recommend UI setting of 250% on a 15 inch screen.

Inline search filter for all styles panels and swatches
Alle styles and swatches panels should have an inline search filter to narrow down large lists of styles (similar to the quick apply window and the layer panel in Photoshop).

Add "Creative Cloud Files" Tab to "New Document" Window
Create a TAB for "CC Files" within the "New Document" window.
When you open InDesign you can select to open a file from CC Files. I have a lot of saved templates so this is a great feature.
However — once I have a file already open, I cannot easily load another template from my CC Files, unless I hunt it down in finder. This would save me a lot of time if I could load them from the New Doc window
GENIOUS.
Thanks

Import Text Variables using .csv
Currently the only way I can see to import a list of text variables is via another .indd. It's tedious to manage a ~10,000 text variables (prices in a catalogue) within the text variable window in InDesign. It would be great to manage these variables in Excel and then be able to import the .csv into InDesign, to change the variables instantly.
The import table feature is a good way to do this, but only if the prices are displayed in a table. My prices are all separate text frames.
Thanks
