Anchored Objects should be able to be sent to back so text can print above the object
It would be nice if text could print above an anchored object
211 votesThank you all for the votes.
Can you help us understand the key problems that you face in the absence of ability to send an anchored image backwards?
What’s the current workaround that you have to follow?
What are the use cases wherein you need that the text appears specifically on top of inline anchored image?
This information will help us evaluate the functionality better.

Adjust Layout - Off by default please.
Finding the new Adjust Layout in InDesign 2019 a bit of a liability as is turned ON by default.
Can you please add a setting to turn off globally and turn on only when needed? Currently doesn't seem possible.
Thanks

Hiding Pages in a Document
It would be helpful to hide pages in a way similar to hiding columns in Excel. I don't want the information gone, I just need to minimize it so I can focus on the specific pages I need. Accessing this action via a right click in the pages menu would be ideal.
188 votesThank you for your inputs.
From the comments, I gather that the primary need for this feature arises when we want avoid exporting of “hidden” pages while keeping the pages visible in the document. Are there other scenarios as well wherein this feature can help your workflows? If yes, please help us understand such workflows.

Allow password-protected hosting, and hosting from a non-Adobe server
These two features would go a LONG way to making Publish Online a viable format for professional publishing. I'm sure many clients would pay an extra fee (nothing outrageous) for a self-hosted solution, if that would be necessary for Adobe to commit resources to make this happen.
185 votesThank you all for your feedback and votes on the feature request.
We are currently looking into this important feature request. As part of the evaluation, I would be reaching out to some of you to gather deeper insights.
Please help us by providing your valuable inputs and feedback.Regards,

Stop making the CC Libraries the default!!!!!!!
I am sick and tired of the Library panel popping open because there are embedded defaults that make EVERY new thing I make think it needs to be added to the cc library.
I DON"T WANT TO USE THEM AS DEFAULT!!!!
If I want to use them I will decide.,
STOP MAKING IT THE DEFAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
175 votesDear All,
This is fixed in latest InDesign CC version. Please upgrade to the latest release.

Please add proper standard printing condition(s) and icc-profiles
Adobe, please change the standard color presets for printing to the proper standard printing conditions and profiles that are published by the European Color Initaitive ECI (eci.org.). The icc-profiles are publically available.
Actually, Adobe still uses outdated FOGRA39 characterization data by default, second Adobe applies FOGRA39 in an own icc-profile that differs from the standard-profile by the ECI.
FOGRA39 is outdated, it's been replaced by FOGRA51 since years, for good reason. ECI has published the corresponding standard ICC-profile "PSO coated v3", which should find it's way into Adobe's color settings. Please integrate the official ECI-profiles, because these are highly optimized…171 votes -

More options when creating Forms via InDesign
InDesign has a few features that make it possible to export an interactive PDF-Formular directly from InDesign.
This CAN save a lot of time when customers require changes on these Files but sadly InDesign is missing out a lot of features that Adobe Acrobat has - even though it'd be a lot easyier to set everything up in InDesign.
So in my opinion the Formular menue needs some improvement and get more functionality (In Acrobat you can define a font VS via InDesign you can't) since more and more customers request Interactive PDF-Forms etc.
It would be valuable to us…
159 votesDear All,
Now you can set fonts/typeface directly in InDesign while creating PDF forms. This feature is now available in latest InDesign CC version. Please upgrade to the latest release.
Thanks

InDesign Preview For Finder
There really should be an InDesign preview for Mac Finder. This should be a requirement for your software and should not be considered a feature request.

Allow different coloured/weight strokes for sides of text box
That way you could make the left and right sides of a box to have zero weight, which essentially gives you rules above and below a text box, but in a box that can be changed in shape and size

Find/Change Panel -> Dockable ?
I'm struggling with screen estate here (laptop, no other screen) and was wondering about the Find/Change window.
It's floating on top of everything, like a modal window, but you still can interact with everything underneath.
So it is basically acting like a panel.
What I am missing here is an icon + the option to dock it and hide and show when needed.
It is quite a large panel so it very often hides things (results, context) under it.
What about 3 things :
1. "make it a (real) panel", don't change design quick and dirty, but already solves the…147 votes -
PLEASE!!!! The most powerful design app in the world, and after all these years STILL no HSB in the color picker.
Hue, saturation and value are by far the best ways to create and use color, in nearly anything. All of the other color selections/spaces (CMYK, RGB, LAB, etc) should flow from there, secondarily. Illustrator and Photoshop have always supported HSB(V), and yet as amazing a design tool as InDesign is – it still doesn't. Many of us have been asking for years, and I'm surprised that there aren't more requests ... I think many of us have given up. You can do it, Adobe! You would make a lot of designers very happy, and add a very powerful missing feature…
143 votesHSB option has been added to Color Picker and other panels for better experience.
Please try out InDesign’s latest update Id 16.0.Let us know your feedback in the comments.

Functionality to apply kerning before the first letter in a line
Feature Description: This feature should work like in Illustrator or Photoshop (even After Effects can do it). Please see attached screen capture.
How it should work:
1. Insert the cursor before the first character in a line
2. Use the kerning in the character panel or with the shortcuts (ALT + arrow keys)
3. kerning should be appliedWhy: This would be a productivity enhancement and make it much easier to optically align the first letter in a line manually without having to use the Optical Margin alignment that only works for a whole story.

Independent column widths in text frame
Please add the option to have independent column-widths in a text frame. This would be really useful for text in nearly any letterhead footer.

Add Python to the list of supported scripting languages
The only cross platform scripting language currently supported is ExtendScript, based on ECMAScript (almost 2 decades old v.3, which in itself is already long overdue for an update). Python is cross platform, easy to learn and very powerful. InDesign's DOM can be translated naturally into Python. Python has a vast set of functional libraries, and still growing. Supporting Python from within InDesign would in its most basic form only have to enable *.py scripts in the Scripts panel, but it would benefit of an interactive console of its own.

Soft version of "Update Table of Contents"
If there is a Table of Content, with some correction in it (for example line breaks) and after that, there is a small correction in the content area, which followed by loosing one page. Therefore it would be great, to just update the Page-numbers, instead updating the whole ToC.
(sorry for bad english)
