1. [ID-4257733]The amount of “Indent to Here” in a paragraph with a “Text Wrap” object at the beginning of the line is wider than usual.

   2. Steps to reproduce the issues Place an object with "Text Wrap" at the beginning of the line and insert "Indent to Here" in the paragraph.
   3. Expected result Wrap at "Indent to Here"
   4. Actual result A gap is created where the "Text Wrap" is added to the wrap of "Indent to Here".

   I suspect that the issue mentioned in the post below may be related to it being fixed in 2023 (18.0).

2. Color Settings Not Sticking

   Upon updating to InDesign 2019 (14.0) my color settings are no longer retained.

   As soon as I quit the app and restart the color settings go back to "Emulate Adobe InDesign 2.0 CMS Off"

   I have reinstalled the app.
   I have wiped all settings.
   I have cleared the Adobe Color Cache folder.

   Hello All,

   Thank you for your patience all this while.
   This issue is now fixed in the latest update (Id 14.0.1) of InDesign CC.
   If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.

   Once the update button is shown against InDesign CC, click on the button to update your InDesign to Id 14.0.1 for the fix of the issue.
   Do let us know in the comments, if you face any problem with the new update.

3. [ID-4265002][ExtendScript] Folder.execute() no longer works in Indesign 20.4

   Folder.execute() no longer reveals the folder and activate the Finder. It does nothing. Tested on Indesign 20.4 on MacOS 15.5.

   Steps to reproduce:

   1. Run this ExtendScript:

   
       Folder.desktop.execute();
   
   

   Expected result: activating the Finder, revealing the Desktop folder.

   Actual result: nothing.

4. InDesign 15.1.1 English dictionary missing plural word spellings

   Since the update every plural word version is not in the dictionary. Simple, basic words like 'years' and 'days' now show as a spelling error. It was working fine before the latest update. Get it fixed - it's pointless having the spellchecker when so many basic words are missing!

5. Variable Font not working in InDesign 2020

   We came along a severe bug within InDesign 2020 and Variable Font.

   The issue has been fixed in the latest release of InDesign – InDesign 2021. The fix was also available in the previous version of InDesign – version 15.1.2

6. Shortcuts and keyboard keys stop working.

   CC2018, Windows 10, latest update as of 01/18/18, x64 system with 12GB RAM. I often have to close and reopen documents or InDesign itself for shortcuts and some keys to work. There does not seem to be a common cause or specific file(s) that sets it off and it may or may not happen to all open documents if more than one is open. Generally closing the document and reopening it helps, but there have been times where I have to restart the program for anything to work. The issue includes any shortcuts and sometimes keys such as the arrow keys when trying to edge a graphic or text box over. Generally, I am able to type in the file name if I am trying to save my work before I close the program, but there have been times that my keyboard is disabled there as well and I have to save over what I have open, rely on the auto-backup file, or duplicate the file in Explorer and rename it so I don't lose the original file. This has not been an issue in any other programs except InDesign and has only been in the past few weeks. The crashing since the last update has subsided, but this issue has not. I would love to know how to fix this.

7. [ID-4257734]When you place an object with ‘Corner Options’ and ‘Text Wrap (Wrap around object shape)’ on a frame, the text moves.

   Checked on Windows 10 Japanese version, InDesign CS5 to CC2024

   1.Create a new document
   2.Create a frame grid with the Horizontal Grid Tool
   3.Insert a few line breaks at the beginning and assign sample text
   4.Draw a rectangle with the Rectangle Tool
   5.Set the shape in Corner Options to anything other than ‘None’
   6.Set the text wrap to ‘Wrap around object shape’
   7.When the drawn rectangle is placed on the frame, it is pushed out by one character

   It’s strange that the text moves even though the rectangle is not placed on top of the text.

   Conditions for the object causing this:
   ・Corner Options (anything other than ‘None’. Whether it’s all four sides or just one)
   ・Text wrap (Wrap around object shape)

   Conditions on the frame side:
   ・Occurs in both text frames and frame grids
   ・The narrower the width, the easier it is to reproduce, but it basically moves
   ・No relation to language or composer differences

   「コーナーオプション」と「テキストの回り込み（オブジェクトのシェイプで回り込む）」のオブジェクトをフレーム上に置くと文字が動く

   Windows10　日本語版　InDesign CS5～CC2024で確認

   1.新規ドキュメントを作成
   2.横組みグリッドツールでフレームグリッドを作成
   3.先頭に数行分の改行を入れ、サンプルテキストを割り付け
   4.長方形ツールで長方形を描く
   5.コーナーオプションでシェイプを「なし」以外にする
   6.テキストの回り込みで「オブジェクトのシェイプで回り込む」
   7.描いた長方形をフレームに乗せると１文字分追い出される

   長方形を文字の上に置いた訳でもないのに文字が動いてしまうのはおかしい

   原因となるオブジェクトの条件
   ・コーナーオプション（なし以外。４辺でも１辺でも）
   ・テキストの回り込み（オブジェクトのシェイプで回り込む）

   フレーム側の条件
   ・テキストフレームでもフレームグリッドでも発生
   ・横幅が狭い方が再現されやすいが基本動く
   ・言語、コンポーザーの違いは関係なし

8. Id CC 2020 pdf export failure

   I get an error "Failed to Export the PDF file" when exporting file previously created in Id CC 2019.
   Id does not give any details about the error. It simply stops exporting. I've never seen such a message before (I've been working with Id since version 1.0).
   The same file is exported from CC2019 without any problems.
   Windows 10 with all updates.

9. Drag-Duplicating using Alt/Opt key does not work if key is pressed after dragging

   InDesign 2020 OPTION Duplicate is now broken, just like Photoshop has always been.

   Don't make me commit to the duplicate before moving an item.

   Sometimes I'll move a box, then realize I intended to duplicate it, so then I'll press OPTION... now I have to commit to it FIRST.

   Fix this and stop breaking things!

10. content aware fit and linked images problem

    Content aware fit is a great idea and is potentially a real timesaver when importing images but I've had to disable it as when updating existing linked images that have been adjusted, rather than keep their size/scale as before they all auto-fit and this is a nightmare when you have carefully placed images such as logos in a long document.

    Could do with an option to auto fit on image import only, or an option to override when updating image links. Unless I've missed something?

11. [ID-4256547] InDesign 2025 Won't Lock "Constrain Proportions"

    When creating a frame, rectangle, any object, or selecting any other object, InDesign 2025 will not keep Constrain Proportions locked when the lock icon is clicked on the control bar.

    The user now has to click it while they select each object and want to scale an object by scaling either the width or height.

    I didn't notice this at first, but found out from a Reddit post.

12. [ID-4251249] Exiting Presentation Mode changes Application's Window size at higher UI Scaling when connected to external monitor.

    InDesign's Window size set by user prior to entering Presentation mode is not retained upon exiting from Presentation mode when connected to external monitor and with the UI Scaling set to other than Small setting.
    InDesign's window becomes fullscreen.
    It would be great to get back to same size and position.

14. CC2018 exporting pixelated PDF

    Every export setting is giving same result.. Some have hidden items showing up. all have pixilations. Illustrator is exporting perfectly, I use 1 of 2 export settings for everything we do here.

    2. Define the text frame options with two columns
    3. Link all frames and fill with placeholder text
    4. Create a new paragraph style with the option "span columns" (e.g. title)
    5. Define several parts of the layout with the new paragraph style
    6. Edit some text near the paragraph style
    --> the performance while typing is very very bad!!!

    EXPECTED RESULT
    InDesign and InCopy should still be usable when a layout file was built using either "span column" or "split column" (e.g. using a paragraph style > "Span Columns").

    Very bad performance - working is NOT possible anymore

    We have been able to improve the performance with span columns but it is till work in progress.

    Please upgrade your InDesign application to the latest version to try out the incremental fix.

16. [ID-4272089]Grouped objects does not go back to original layers when ungrouped if 'Ungroup Remembers Layer' is enabled

    1. Version of Adobe InDesign is v21.0
    2. Create several layers, put an object on each layer, make sure that 'Ungroup Remembers Layers' is checked, group all objects, and ungroup.
    3. Expected result: all objects remain on the layer they were on before they were grouped.
    4. Actual results: all objects are on the top layer or the highest layer on which there was an object that was within the group

    In my opinion this should be treated as a hotfix. This is ruining the workflow and messes up the files that then need to either be fixed or rolled back to previous versions. I cannot state how urgent this is, it is absurd that a basic option such as this one is suddenly broken.

17. [ID-4257735]One Frame Grid Remains Unchanged When Modifying Multiple Selected Frame Grids

    InDesign CS4 (v6) and Later

    When changing the “Number of Characters per Line” or “Number of Lines” for multiple selected frame grids, one of the frame grids always fails to update. This bug, first observed in CS4 (v6), remains unresolved.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Select multiple frame grids.
    2. Go to the menu and choose “Object > Frame Grid Options...”
    3. Modify the “Number of Characters per Line” or “Number of Lines” settings.

    Result: Changes are not reflected in one of the frame grids. It appears that the frame grid with the smallest object ID does not get updated.

    Expected Result: All selected frame grids should reflect the changes.

18. [ID-4257736]InDesign hangs when placing CJK tagged text with ruby

    I'm currently using ID 2024, but I have tested other versions of ID, back to CS6, and they all have the same problem. I'm currently running Windows 11, but the problem also occurs in Windows 10.

    Steps:

    1. Install the Adobe font family, Source Han Sans TW, on your computer.
    2. Download TaggedText.zip and unzip it
    3. Open InDesign in the CJK version
    4. Create a new document with these grid attributes: Direction = Vertical; Font = Source Han Sans TW, Normal; Size = 16 pt; Vertical = Horizontal = 100%; Char Aki = 0 pt; Line Aki = 10 pt; Characters = 40; Lines = 15
    5. Go File > Place... > choose TaggedText.txt
    6. After TaggedText.txt is loaded into the "cursor" <shift-click> inside the frame

    It would be nice if InDesign would place the text and allow me to continue working with the data. Unfortunately, InDesign hangs and I have to kill it with the Task Manager.

    I'm pretty sure the problem is related to ruby in the tagged text. It is possible to place the text using the debug version of InDesign available through adobeprerelease.com which leads me to think that the tagged text is acceptable. My request is to fix the regular version of InDesign so that it can place this tagged text just like the debug version can.

    At this point InDesign is hung.

19. [ID-4245422]Underlines are drawn in the space left by "danraku jisage".

    When I use "danraku jisage " in the "mojigumi akiryou settei" , an underline is underlined in the empty space at the beginning of a line.
    Since there are no characters in the empty space, it is correct that underlines are not underlined in the same way as when indentation is used to lower the line.

    「文字組みアキ量設定」で「段落字下げ」を行ったとき、行頭の空いている部分にも下線が引かれてしまう。
    空いている部分には文字はないので、インデントで下げたときと同じように、下線は引かれないのが正しい。

20. problem with optical margin alignment and world-ready paragraph composer

    1. This happens in multiple versions of InDesign. I've reproduced it in ID CS 6 (8.1.0.420), ID CC 2019 (14.0.3.433), ID 2021 (16.4.0.55), and ID 2022 (17.0.0.68).

    2. Steps to reproduce:
       (1) Open InDesign
       (2) Create a new empty document
       (3) Create a text frame that is 100 mm by 100 mm
       (4) Place Text4.txt
       (5) Go Type > Story > check Optical Margin Alignment

    3. Expected result:
       The left margin should be somewhat ragged because the * character needs to be shifted left to make the margin appear straight. The right margin should be completely even because each line ends with the same word.

    4. Actual result:
       The left margin is correctly ragged. The right margin is ragged instead of being even.

    5. Text4.jpg shows the result with the ragged right margin.

    6. Notes:
       (1) This bug occurs with the World-Ready Paragraph Composer. It does not occur with the Adobe Paragraph Composer. Switching the composer produces the expected results.
       (2) This bug is related to soft hyphens (0xAD). If these are removed from the data then the expected results are produced.
