Khmer Line-Breaking Regression Bug
While much has been fixed, the current version of InDesign 2022 still line-breaks Khmer words/punctuation incorrectly (this used to work in InDesign 5.5 but has been broken since CS 6).
Here are some sample words/puncuation that break incorrectly (many are names):
យេស៊ូវ
អ៊ីស្រាអែល
គ្រីស្ទ
«...ទោះ
ជាម្ចាស់
អាន់ទីយ៉ូក
ៗ (this should stay with the previous word not break on to its own line)
អាកំណា
គ្រីស្ទបរិស័ទ
បន្សុស
ខគម្ពីរ
បូគោ
... (should stay together and stay with previous word like in English)
បូគោ
ឰយុកោEasiest way to fix this is don't break a line unless there is a zero-width space (U+200B)…

Bracket issues
When copying a table from one indesign brochure to another new indesign document. The open and close brackets that were on the original table appears corrupted. The close bracket appears at the front of the word instead. Tried retyping it at the end of the word but keeps jumping to the front.

IDML: missing Font Style property in Character Style after export
Version: InDesign CC 2020 15.0.1
How to reproduce the bug:
1. Create a Character Style with "Bold" Font Style and apply it to a word/character range
2. Save in INDD file format
3. Export the IDML
4. Open the IDML and you will notice that the bold property for the Character Style was lostExpected result: the Character Style should be the same as in the original INDD file
Actual result: the "bold" property was lost during the export process. The INDD file is fine.
I verified that InDesign CC 2019 14.0.3 is not affected by this bug.
16 votesThe fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – that is, InDesign 15.0.2.
Please update your InDesign application to get this fix.

InDesign version 13.0.1 x64. Dynamic spelling does not show misspelled words with red underline as you type, prefs are set to that.
InDesign version 13.0.1 x64. Dynamic spelling does not show misspelled words with red underline as you type, prefs are set to that. But if you do right mouse button, or spell check, it does know the word is misspelled, offering correction suggestions. We really need to see it "dynamically" as one types; this feature is not working.
2 votesPlease check to see if you are not in one of the following Screen Modes : Preview/Bleed/Slug. In these modes, the red underline for Dynamic Spelling is not shown.

Incorrect German translation
I have already submitted this issue in 15.3 prerelease branch, but I see it still uncorrected in 15.3 release.
Paragraph style -> popup menu:
the word "Nächstes" should be lowercase - "nächstes".

Please update to this new version of InDesign to get the fix.—

[ID-4199810]Cross reference takes more space than its text
A cross reference sometimes takes up more space than its actual text.
In the attached shows a frame with text with the right side of the text frame visible and the word "with" (above) extending well beyond the 2nd to last line in the frame. The "112" in the picture is a cross reference. When that cross reference is removed and "regular" text is typed in the 112 fits on the line.
Question first posted and confirmed by another here: https://forums.adobe.com/message/10908454#10908454.
This happens in CS6 and in CC2019, 14.0.1 x64.

When Find/Change Dialog Box is open, arrow keys move entire text box instead of cursor
- Indesign 16.3.2 on macOs Mojave
- When i find a word using find/change it gets highlighted. I try to add a punctuation mark after that word and tab the right arrow key.
- Arrow key should just move the cursor in text box, next to the highlighted text.
- It moves entire text box as if the text box is selected.

Variables not updating
- InDesign CC 2018 (though I have experienced this same problem over several versions)
- Random bug, so I can't really say what steps are required
- Variables should update to the data referenced by the variable
- The word "Variable" is substituted for the data
- Screen shot attached.

Czech Winsoft dictionary is broken: all lowercase words are marked as misspelled (CC2020)
The spellcheck of Czech text is not working correctly if you select Winsoft dictionary in all versions of CC2020: it marks all words starting with lower case letter as wrong and recommends capitalising ALL words. Unfortunately the Winsoft dictionary is the only option for Czech language as both Hunspell and Proximity are really bad.
1 Type Czech text
2 Set Winsoft dictionaries in InDesign preferences
3 Run spell checker
4 All words in lowercase will be marked as misspelled (each word is treated as if it stands at the beginning of a sentence)Expected result: see CS6,…

Static Endnotes
When importing Word files with Static Endnotes ticked from Word .doc files the endnote indicators within the text are no longer superior. There is no character style to be able to change these back. Without these indicators remaining superior makes the Static Endnotes a waste of time if you work in .doc instead of .docx. We always use .doc files as there are too many bugs using .docx - bits of text missing; loss of italics here and there etc. Using .doc files are always foolproof. We are typesetters manipulating text 12 hours a day and know all the pit…

Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace and Cmd/Ctrl+Delete bugs
Hi,
Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace and Cmd/Ctrl+Delete bugs act erratically in latest InCopy (13.1) on Mac and Windows: contrary to all other apps and InDesign Story Editor, they delete words from seemingly random side of the cursor.
See https://forums.adobe.com/message/10524905
Actual result: Cmd+Del often deletes from left hand side, Cmd+Backspace often deletes from right hand side of the cursor.
Expected result: Cmd/Ctrl+Del always deletes the word to the right of the cursor; Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace always deletes a word from to the left of the cursor.
Regards

Lao Line Breaking Support
I'm working on a major project using the Lao language and InDesign. The Lao text is not flowing correctly in InDesign. There are addons that provide these features (LaoScript), but there isn't native InDesign support, from what I can tell.
Lao text does not seem to properly word wrap. Many professionals use zero-width-spaces in Lao to create invisible 'spaces' between words so that applications properly word wrap. However, this has significant drawbacks and makes it harder for Lao people to use and edit their language because editing text with invisible characters is difficult (especially on mobile, but PCs as…

Font KNU (karen) doesn't display correctly in InDesign files.
When working on files that are written in Karen language, suing KNU font, this font is not displaying corrently.
The same font displays fine in PowerPoint, Word, PDF software, but not in InDesign.
Also, the accessibility information doesn't accept text in Karen.
