content aware fit and linked images problem
Content aware fit is a great idea and is potentially a real timesaver when importing images but I've had to disable it as when updating existing linked images that have been adjusted, rather than keep their size/scale as before they all auto-fit and this is a nightmare when you have carefully placed images such as logos in a long document.
Could do with an option to auto fit on image import only, or an option to override when updating image links. Unless I've missed something?
The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update (14.0.2) of InDesign 2019.
If you are unable to see the update notification, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.
Once the update button is shown against InDesign, click on the button to update to Id 14.0.2.
If you face any problems with the new update, do let us know in the comments.
The list of fixed issues can be found at: helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/fixed-issues.html
Thanks,
InDesign Team

Crop is always scalling. No way to crop only with 14.0.2.

I'm pretty sure you didn't fix anything.

Could Adobe inform us users when they will have an update to fix this problem? I have been an InDesign user since the very first version and have felt really let down by the lack of support on such an important and basic problem.

After opening indd or idml file in new environment (new path or new komputer) all images wants to be relinked. And this is normal. But after relinking all of them are larger than original. Not containers, just images that I'm relinking.

I'm having this same issue as well. I'm only changing the images from RBG to CMYK (not resizing or anything) and the image shifts. This is a nightmare because I have so many carefully placed images, and need to do all the color updates in a batch, not one at a time before I place them all.
How do I turn off content-aware fit?

I have the same problem since I upgraded to CC 2019. I placed an Image, rotated the content (not the imagebox) 13 %, worked on the image in PSD, updated the picture in ID > Image rotation changed to 0 % AND position changed as well. It is totally annoying!

I have also had this problem multiple times. I have already previously deselected the Content Aware Fit. Today it resized every page of a PDF randomly, I had not even made any changes to the linked file to update, I was just variously changing the size of the frame on each page when it happened.

Unchecking content Aware fit does not help, only relinking that is working is relinking PDF files, AI files are flying around... Adobes last update just trashed my 560 page technical catalog with more than 2000 pictures inside. #killalsomenow

I have had to turn this off as well. Was driving me nuts trying to figure out why my images and logos are cropping themselves.
Shouldn't the Content-Aware Fit would just adjust new images?

After updating to 14.0, my placed images don't stay in the same place after I edit and update them. For example, I have a placed image that was created in Photoshop. If I edit the image in Photoshop and then "update link" in InDesign, the image is a different size than how I originally had it placed.

Indesign CC 2019 is resizing links when they are updated. A real serious bug.
