1. InDesign book has .INDD file extension

   I noticed that in v. 15.1.2 an InDesign "book" file no longer has the .INDB extension, but is now an .INDD. If that is intentional, Adobe needs to update the User Guide at https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/user-guide.html/indesign/using/creating-book-files.ug.html

2. No brake style broke All Caps style

   In Polish language I'm using no break GREP in style to automatically correct hanging letters at the end of the line. When I have this GREP and change style to 'all caps' it doesn't affect letters with 'no break'!
   It worked fine with all CC versions till latest update! Why Adobe with the latest version release always broke something that work for years

3. distorted window

   When scrolling, x-which bars are created, which disappear again when scrolling, but new ones are constantly created. Why? What can I do against it?

4. InDesign "hangs" when exporting to InCopy:

   MAC, OS 15.10.3, InDesign 2020:
   Problems exported via InCopy (hangs and hangs and sometimes crashes) YES I have updated InCopy too. InDesign will no longer export IDML files (could this be due to no longer available to open in CS6?)

   Unfortunately, I am the only person who has upgraded to Catalina.

   Id this an Adobe fix or an Apple OS fix?

   With Indesign 14.01 have problems when I move a picture.
   Is there distortion up to 30 sec.
   Document has 120 page. Picture setting is "Normal" preview

7. 2023 | Indesign 14.00 (2019) was the last known version to successfully export interactive elements to PDF

   A bug with Traditon! Happy Birthday you are four years old.

   That since the end of 2019, interactive animated element can no longer output, I had unfortunately recently forgotten (Earlier I had done that more often)! So: Once again I have invested time, things pretty animated, only to realize that the bug still exists!

   Say: All these pretty functions are pointless and useless.
   They are purely for the optics still there, chic to look at .... but unfortunately not intended for use (something I know with Adobe Illustrator for a long time).

   The solution Support suggested at the time was quite funny: uninstall and reset all of the CC references or better completely clean reinstall the OS system. With the hint that it was not Adobe's fault!

   Laugh, yeah right. Something I obviously did not do! Also because I knew, the problem was not with Apple, but again exclusively with ADOBE!

   Since then some bugs have been added without being fixed. Dear Adobeteam, if the interactive menu

   Animated Buttons,
   Buttons,
   page transitions*
   are not available, then be so kind and delete them! OR ******* FIX IT ALREADY!

   *( They don't work anymore in Adobe Acrobat (You can adjust them but it doesn't work.). With Adobe PDF Libary 15.0 it still worked, with 17.0 not anymore)

   Addendum: Have just an Indesign 14 runtergelden and installed. Interactive animated elements from Indesign to PDF exported successfully ...see movie.

   This would be proven beyond doubt IT is because of YOU ADOBE!!!!! So now fix it, 4 years is a long long time.

8. Scripts

   When I updated to InDesign 2021 (V 16.0), all my custom scripts and their associated keyboard shortcuts were gone.

   I had to go into my Applications/Adobe InDesign 2020/Scripts/Scripts Panel folder and copy them over into that same folder in the InDesign 2021 folder.

   Not sure if it's happening across the board, but thought I'd point out my experience.

9. Problème d'affichage des outils de révision dans In Design

   Bonjour, j'ai testé l'outil révision dans In Design avec mes collègues, mais j'ai un problème lorsque je clique sur "Aller à l'examen" pour voir les modifs en ligne, mon ordinateur (PC récent intel Core i9) ouvre par défaut le navigateur Microsoft Edge, et je ne visualise que les 2 premiers outils de révision (la pipette et l'épingle), je ne vois pas les textes surlignés, barrés ou entourés. Sur les nouveaux PC, on ne peut pas changer le navigateur par défaut. Pour visualiser les modifs, il faut que j'ouvre Firefox, que je copie le lien sécurisé produit par le logiciel In Design et que je me réidentifie sur ma suite Adobe. Comment faire remonter l'information à Adobe pour signaler ce bug d'affichage ?
   Ou y a-t-il un moyen d'afficher dans In Design les corrections (surlignage/texte barré/épingle) sans être obligé de cliquer sur chaque commentaire.

10. Overrides are not preserved when importing and overwriting object style

    version 19.3.0.58
    But it happens in everything after CC2018

    When I update object styles on import or book sync, size and position options do not retain overrides. What is currently known is Width, Height, X, Y in Size and Position Options.

    Reproduction steps

    1. Create a document
    2. Create object style
    3. Set Width, Height, X, Y of Size and Position Options as desired.
    4. Save document
    5. Open the document that duplicated 4.
    6. Create an object and apply the object style from 2.
    7. Change to any position and size (override)
    8. Import and update the object style in 2. from the document in 1.
    9. The object in 7. does not retain its size and position and is returned to the style settings.

    Expected behavior
    8. As a result, the size and position will remain as they were before the style update.

11. Indesign fails to create new PDF's from imported Xerox scans

    tested on pc version Adobe Indesign CS6 8.1

    All imported pdf color scans from Xerox WC78xx copiers fail to create a new PDF in Indesign when using 'High quality Print' setting in Indesign PDF preferences.
    The only workaround is choosing convert to CMYK (or press quality) in Adobe indesign pdf preferences.
    Xerox now knows about this (I contacted them as first) but they say it's not their fault, Indesigns handels their scans wrong.

    Please help ASAP, as this affects all users of indesign with Xerox machines (a lot!)

12. Trackpad scroll issues with InDesign v15.0.2 on new MacBook Pro 16" 2.4 GHz 8 core processor 64GBmemory. .

    InDesign v15.0.2 Trackpad is not scrolling well on new MacBook Pro 16" 2.4 GHz 8 core processor 64GBmemory. I just upgraded my equipment to top of line MacBook Pro. and bought the subscription to Adobe all apps. I have been using 2013 MacbookPro with CS6. My files are unresponsive in Indesign. I typically collage with 600+ photoshop images to make is single design on multiple pages. On my old system I was not running into problems except new OS was incompatible with CS6.

    This is unacceptable. I called Adobe and they were not helpful.

13. Split window re-scrolls after returning from other app and changing other window

    I am running Adobe InDesign CC 14.0.1.x64 on Windows 7 with latest updates (i.e., the most popular platform in the world).

    1. Open the document (see attached).
    2. Split the window (Window > Arrange > Split Window).
    3. Scroll the left window to show page 2, with the Table of Contents.
    4. Scroll the right window to show e.g. page 3, with the cursor in the middle of the page.
    5. With the Type tool active, click the Enter key.
    6. InDesign correctly inserts a new paragraph, with the left window remaining unchanged.
    7. Alt-Tab out of InDesign.
    8. Alt-Tab back into InDesign. The Type tool should still be active, with the cursor in the right window.
    9. Click the Enter key again. Expected Behavior: Same as Step 6, including that the left window is unchanged. Actual Behavior: Same as Step 6 PLUS the left window scrolls.

    Sure, after coming back in with Alt-Tab, I can click the left window before making changes in the right window, but that's a pane.

    Contact me if you want the InDesign document I used. This interface says, "Invalid file type: .indd files not allowed." !!!

    We have released InDesign CC2019.0.2 with lot of bug fixes. If you are not on 14.0.2.324 then I would recommend you to upgrade to latest version as it is more robust.

    • Error snapshot or video recording of the issue?

14. Updating to Mac OSX Mojave, Indesign now behaving slow and shortcut make new document does not work anymore

    Drawing a box, moving it around etc is now a kind of laggy. Moves but slow and kind of stuttering.

    The GUI overall, menus etc, behaves a bit slower as well. Not much but not as quick and responsive at it was in Sierra.

    Have tried de-activating GPU but that has no difference at all.

    I have the latest version, 14.0.2.
    Updated to Mojave because the Adobe chat support suggested that would help out some other issues I have had.
    One reason was that command + new shortcut stopped working. And now it stopped working again...

    Same thing happens in Illustrator so it seems to be something of a Mojave comparability?

    Other software (non-adobe) seems to be just fine though.

    Using a Imac 2017, i7, 32 ram, 1 tb ssd.

    I'm a big fan of technology but in Adobes case it seems as going back a few years actually was better having a lot fewer issues in the software.
    (For me it all started with the bloody CC subscription thing.)

15. Develop Publish Online for more than one "owner"

    We use your Publish Online function for our white papers, published online on our web. We love a lot about the function BUT there is some important functions we struggle with:

    • Only the owner of the PDF can edit in the published version. We have a team of designers and become dependent on one of them.
    • The PDF is not responsive to other devices
    • Statistics can only be viewed/monitored by the owner, often the designer not the functions that necessary needs this insights.

    Would love if you can develop these functions futher so we can stay Adobe-based!

16. Two finger trackpad zoom in OSX is broken

    I use Option + Two Finger Up Or Down on the track pad to zoom in InDesign.

    While it seems to zoom in fine, it almost never zooms out properly. Often when I try and zoom out it zooms in further.

    This behaviour works just fine in other Adobe apps such as Illustrator.

    I'm running Mac OSX Catalina 10.15.7 on a 2019 16" Macbook Pro.

17. Imported PDF not previewing in high quality

    When placing exported PDFs from Adobe XD, High Quality Display previews don't show properly when GPU Performance is selected. You must turn off GPU performance or select Typical Display.

18. Shortcut CMD + S increasing the file size.

    Files created within InDesign are increasing in size dramatically with every CMD + S.

    It is not the files linked in the document which are 100 % to the ration they are seen and resetting the cache ~/Library>Caches> Adobe Indesign does not have any effect.

    To test this we have created a quick document with an Adobe Support Technician Saptam (see image-01). This document is 1.5 MB and when the design elements have been deleted and the file saved CMD +S you can see the file size doesn't go down (see image-02).

    It remains at 1.5 MB and only when you go File > Save As through the navigation menu does the file size drop again to 1 MB.

    For illustration purposes this is was only a small test whilst on the chat feature to Adobe. The files I was originally working on were for a point-of-sale suite

    Totem
    3.55 GB (CMD + S)
    644.8 MB (FILE > SAVE AS)

    Wobbler
    1.49 GB (CMD + S)
    279.8 MB (FILE > SAVE AS)

    A1 Poster
    2.46 GB (CMD + S)
    281.1 MB (FILE > SAVE AS)

    This is just a few examples and there was no difference between the files or image quality/size changes. Just File > Save As. Whilst CMD + S just added to my file as if it was embedding all the document history.

    Hope you can help on this issue.

19. Font Futura PT is not recognized by InDesign

    Font Futura PT is not recognized by InDesign, I saved it in Adobe Fonts in a library and activated it, updated Indesign to the latest version 20.3.1 and restarted my MAC. It still doesn't work.

20. PDF Export displays grey box

    Adobe InDesign CC 2019 on macOS High Sierra

    Currently working in a layout where I'm exporting a PDF, but one image in the document shows as a missing link (grey box) in the export.
    I've tried saving the image as a png, relinking from a different location, changing the display to high quality, checked my preferences, preflight errors, and display settings, and nothing has fixed this.
