1. Source Sans shifting down issue

   Source Sans or INDD has changed from version 17.3 to 17.4. All of the type gets baseline shifted down when you create a new file or if you open up an existing INDD file with Source Sans. It all pushes down inside the text window.

   Either an INDD problem or Source Sans coding has changed. Please resolve--its our house typeface.

2. spelling issue

   I'm trying to spellcheck but it is defaulting to Dutch 2005 reform even though its set to English UK in preferences. How do I fix this as it used to be fine?

3. Adobe InDesign (Build 15.0.3) - Italian UI Translation issue

   Good morning,

   I have found a (severe) translation bug in the InDesign 15.0.3 Italian User Interface,

   In the dialog "Text Frame Column Rule Options", in Italian UI "Opzioni regola colonna frame di testo", of "Object Styles" the English term "Rule/Rules" has been erroneously translated as "Regola/Regole" instead of "Filetto/Filetti".

   Thank you for amending it in a future CU, as it is really misleading.

4. Publish Online URL links breaking website functionality

   File Created in Indesign CC 2017

   I have created a test interactive document with links to product DG012 on our company website.

   When the link is clicked from publish online it opens the page but seems to disable all scripts that run on the website. e.g. search field and add to cart no longer functions on that page.

   The website itself functions correctly if you navigate to the link manually ( http://www.lockhart.co.uk/Table-Service-and-Buffet/Buffet-Display/Display-Stands/Rafters-F usion-1-2-Board~p~DG012 ).

   Interestingly in safari the add to cart button functions but the search field is still disabled.

   On closer inspection it seems to be an iframe issue -
   If I go into chrome developer tools i get the following errors:

   When clicked the link opens in a new window so I am not sure how to go about editing the code behind the sandbox element.

5. [GPU Performance issue] ID 16.2.1 introduces GPU lag and stuttering on macOS

   The InDesign 16.2.1 update for Mac introduces a general lag when panning, scrolling, or zooming in and out, using either the trackpad or the hand tool.

   In the previous version of InDesign, when the Application Frame was active, each one of these actions was completely buttery smooth and GPU-accelerated.

   Now, it's stuttery and choppy, and an overall unpleasant experience (although this was the default level of performance for many previous years of InDesign; however, now that we've seen much better, with software that actually makes use of our powerful hardware, we'd like not to regress).

   The issue was found on a MacBook Pro with an 8-core Core i9 processor and the AMD Radeon Pro Vega 20 4 GB HBM2 workstation GPU on macOS Catalina 10.15.7 after updating InDesign.

   The same issue also occurred after updating InDesign on another MacBook Pro with a Core i9 and the AMD Radeon Pro 5600M 8 GB HBM2 workstation GPU, on a clean install of macOS Big Sur 11.4.

   GPU Performance is activated, and the Application Frame is active. Even previously, the lag in question was present when the Application Frame was not active, but the solution was to turn it on. Now, sadly it's laggy and choppy on any view. It's usable, but not ultra-smooth anymore.

   Removing preferences and reinstalling InDesign 16.2.1 does not improve performance.

   We want Adobe to make sure that each update is actually improving our quality of life, not leaving the programs slower and less performant than they were previously, causing us to waste more time writing these reports.

   These type of unexpected and unexplained issues discourage us from upgrading, and encourage us to mistrust updates, instead staying on stable versions that work for us. If issues like these are not resolved, this is what I will recommend to people in my industry.

6. [ID-4264855] Issue with Animated Zoom in GPU

   New PC GPU zoom doesn't seem to centre the zoom on the cursor leading to not super useful behaviour (you have to zoom and then drag with the hand tool to get back to what you were originally trying to zoom into). It's very disorientating.

7. PNG import issue with InDesign 16.3.1

   Hello!

   I'm having an issue with InDesign CC (16.3.1): some PNG files are imported in a green frame instead of being transparent. For example, when I import (whether with the shortcut cmd + d or not) the PNG of an image (1), it appears with a green background, while this same image only with an additional layer (2) appears with a transparent background, as it should. However, it is the same export format with the added layer displayed or hidden.

   I would like to point out that this bug only appears when importing into indesign, I don't have this problem when I import the file into Illustrator.

   I didn't have this problem before, I downgraded from 16.3.2 to 16.3.1 and still have the same problem!

8. Objects transformed with the Shear-Tool aren't displayed correctly in Review and with Acrobat Extension for Chrome

   In my corporate design, I use rectangles with a shear angle of 45°. However, these rectangles are displayed incorrectly in the Review and in the Chrome browser with the Acrobat extension. Such rectangles are then not displayed at an angle, but as a larger rectangle. In the two uploaded images you can see the comparison of how it is designed in Indesign and how it then looks in the Review.
   Correcting this display error is very important to me. Of course, I could also draw the slanted rectangle with the path tool. But this is very impractical because I can't adjust the height and width.

9. Permission issue when opening first time from OSX server

   Permission issue when opening first time from OSX server.
   When opening Indesign file from OSX server, it gives error message: "Cannot open the document ”Xxxx: Xxxxx: Xxxxxx: Xxxxx: Xxxxxxx.indd”. You may not have permission or the document may be open already." When trying again, the file open normally. File is not open already, permissions are ok. Other versions of InDesign opens file ok. Indesign CC2020 / macOS Big Sur 11.0.1.

10. [ID-4270655] Align to Bleed issue

    The Align to Bleed function works incorrectly for certain bleed situations.
    If a facing-page document has an Inside bleed smaller than the other sides, (e.g Top: 1p6, Bottom: 1p6, Inside 0p, Outside 1p6) the Align to Bleed will left-align objects to this smaller bleed instead of the correct outer dimension. This does not seem to affect right-aligning.

11. Stroke Drawing Order | Row Strokes In Front issue

    Hi everyone,

    I'm facing a problem in indesign and I assume this should be reported as a bug unless someone has a solution to it, so…

    I work with a lot of tables, and sometimes, for more lisibility, I have a insert "gutters" to table columns (actually it's white right strokes on my cells), sometimes it's just the client who wants them everywhere on tables. Anyway, there's a great feature in table styles that let me decide whether the row stroke is above the column stroke or the other way.

    it works perfectly when choosing Column Strokes In Front, every rows are "cut" by column borders, even the first and last one. But when I need the first and last rows not to be cut bye choosing Row Strokes In Front, there's still a little part of the row that is cut by my column gutter, here's an example attached to this message.

    I thought at first that it was just a displayed issue, like we often have in acrobat with tiny details, but the problem is still here when printing the table.

    Is there something I could do or it's a known problem from indesign?

    For information, I tried to change the weight of both strokes to see if it does change something, but it doesn't.

12. thumbnail publish online

    Publish online thumbnails extend off the right hand side of the browser window and cover the button for forward navigation through the thumbails. This means that the only way to navigate to the desired page is by clicking through page by page, or by resizing the browser window and clicking quickly before the thumbnails have time to respond and cover the button.

    I don't know if this is a bug since it's my first time using publish online but if it isn't, there certainly needs to be a better way to navigate through a long document, like a book. For instance scrolling quickly, page number field to jump to, or just thumbnails that don't cover their own navigation buttons.

    This issue exists in both Chrome and Safari and is not unique to my published document. I've tried with other publicly available documents and the viewer has the same issue.

13. Content following a list exports to HTML/EPUB as part of the last list item

    When exporting a document that includes a list to EPUB or HTML, everything after the list is exported inside the last list item. Attached screen shots show the issue.

14. Read Only - Save Issue - Indesign 16.1 05/05/21 Update

    Indesign is very again now very Sluggish. But getting very annoying Read Only Save issues when working with Books and single files over a network. Only remedy is to save to Desktop and replace files. This is potentially very dangerous and could create very expensive mistakes.

15. Book file issue

    Using ID 17.0.01 x64 on Windows 11, when closing all files, but not the .indb file, the files disappear and and screen reverts to the opening screen. Under Window, the book file appears and when clicking on it, the book file shows up in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Not where I put it at the top of the right panel. Plus, it shows the last file closed wasn't saved in the book.
    Previously, the book file remained open, visible where I placed it, and the files were saved and showing saved.

16. Issue with Word Breaks in Dictionaries on InDesign (last version)

    Dear Technical Support Team,

    I am writing to inform you about an issue I am experiencing with word breaks in dictionaries, primarily in UK English (the Canadian one has fewer problems), German (2006 reform with Duden activated), and Danish, which are the languages I use the most. This problem has also arisen in other languages. I always switch the dictionary according to the language of the text I am working on. I have mainly encountered these errors using InDesign, but it has also happened to me in Illustrator. Clearly, the word break functionality is not working correctly, and syllabication is not accurately assigned, so it is not being applied correctly. This issue is adversely affecting the workflow as we are forced to resort to dictionaries to verify word breaks provided by InDesign, incurring an inevitable additional time investment.

    As an example, I have listed the following words below for you to verify how the UK English dictionary does not correctly break them:

    challenges
    consequences
    entrances
    homogenous
    inhabitants
    measure
    I attach a pdf with clear examples.

    This problem is causing significant difficulties in editing and reviewing documents, as well as in ensuring their linguistic quality. It is essential that this functionality is reviewed and resolved to have confidence in these dictionaries and work efficiently and accurately.

    Creative Cloud InDesign shifts the colors of spot colors when generating pdf files. Only solution is to backsave as an idml file and then generate a pdf through pre-Creative Cloud InDesign application.

18. Applescript Droplet: InDesign 2020 issue

    A much used droplet to export one or more InDesign documents to PDF (with dialog and settings) will not work with InDesign 2020 (v15.0.0.155) anymore (fine with InDesign CC 2019). InDesign 2020 opens the first (or the only) document. I can select options in the upcoming dialogue box, but then crashes immediately by clicking OK with an error message (see screenshot).

    However, the same base code of the script works directly from InDesign to export the active document to PDF without any problems.

    InDesign 2020 may not handle "on open ..." and / or "repeat with ..." in the droplet ?!

    A much used droplet to export one or more InDesign documents to PDF (with dialog and settings) will not work with InDesign 2020 (v15.0.0.155) anymore (fine with InDesign CC 2019). InDesign 2020 opens the first (or the only) document. I can select options in the upcoming dialogue box, but then crashes immediately by clicking OK with an error message (see screenshot).

    However, the same base code of the script works directly from InDesign to export the active document to PDF without any problems.

    InDesign 2020 may not handle "on open ..." and / or "repeat with ..." in the droplet… more

19. Kerning (spacing) issue with small caps active

    There's an annoying issue with kerning (or in general with characters spacing) on characters without small caps when small caps is active on preceding characters.
    This appens randomly on a full text document but seems always with text imported from Word.
    The strange thing is that if I deactivate small caps from only a white space before the badly spaced text, the problem disappear. Likewise if I deactivate small caps from preceding word but keep it in the white space before the badly spaced text, the problem disappear again. However if I deactivate small caps from preceding text, keeping it in a white space before the badly spaced text and in a single character before, the problem still remain.
    I don't know why this appens and why only in some text, but this is annoing because it's not so evident when scrolling through a big document and it could remain on a printed book.

20. GPU preview issue

    GPU preview sometime doesn't preview correctly, need to switch to CPU preview for correct preview.

    and sometime display image like a burst artifact. need to switch to CPU preview forth and back for several times to get everything back to normal.

    24MB total ram
