  1. anchored, free positioned object inside text frame is wrongly wrapped

    And this is old bug.
    1. place a graphic inline at the start of paragraph,
    2. switch on "wrap around" in "text wrap" options
    3. make place for graphic making apriopriate left indent for paragraph.
    Whole text in paragraph is indented reflecting the shape of wrapped object

    This bug was once repaired few years ago, but now it returned.

  2. Search box when updating link

    When I want to update a link and press the link button, an "open/find file-window" is opened. I then often want to search or the file using the file name, but when I press the search box in the upper right hand corner this box is suddenly shrunk to a much smaller size which very small font which is thus illegible (this does not happen when I do the same maneuvre in e.g. Windows Explorer). I want the box to remain the same size so I can see the search term I type.

  3. Cannot turn auto-fit to default

    I am using Adobe InDesign CC 2018 13.0 for macOS (10.13.1). It seems that the auto-fit is default turned off right now. I changed the setting in Objet-Fitting-Framing Fitting Options and checked the box of Auto-fit with no documents open.

    However, I am still unable to set auto fit into default.

  4. Restore apps bar on the top

    The current ID version is much worse then CS 5.5. You took the options from the apps bar on the top. And now I have to click and click and click to set the option (textframe optionpns, frame options and so on) and I am very angry about that. Please, let them come back. I want to set what I want with one click, like before.

  5. middle east defaults

    Controlling defaults for ME options - doesn't work for cut/paste?

    I'm using the ME edition of InDesign 2018. The majority of my work is exclusively left-to-right, so I've set all default options to those appropriate to English (UK) text. This works fine when I'm creating a text box with the text tool, but when I cut/paste text without having a cursor in a pre-existing text box, the automatically-created new text box always has "right-to-left text direction" selected in its Story options. Is there any way I can change this default?

  6. find/change search selection changes randomly

    ID 14.0.2

    I use certain Find/Change queries repeatedly.

    The queries are saved with the SEARCH option set to SELECTION.

    Normally I select a portion of text and run the F/C query to automatically make changes.

    Recently however, the query is sometimes applied to the WHOLE DOCUMENT.
    I haven't found a pattern, but maybe once out of every 4 tries. It seems it randomly defaults to SEARCH=DOCUMENT, instead of the way the query was saved.

  7. Email Hyperlinks Not Responding in Published Online File

    I have a document that contains some email hyperlinks throughout it. I set up the hyperlinks with the link to "email" option, and then the address as the destination. Creating a "mailto:xyz@xyz.com" link.

    After publishing online, when the links are clicked on, it takes the page to a "could not connect" page and does not respond correctly. BUT all email links work completely fine when copied and pasted, right click and opened up in a new tab, when clicking directly from an exported PDF, when clicking from the downloaded PDF from the published online document, etc. It's only…

  8. cannot place XLSX table

    I'm unable to place an Excel file/table. When I choose Place...select any Excel file (.xls or .xlsx) and check "Import Options":
    - Options dialog appears, but no fields are selectable, except decimal places.
    - Click OK, and I get nothing. No error message, and no content.

    If I place a file WITHOUT options, I get the content of the Excel NOT as a table, but as tab-delimited text. This is not acceptable, as the integrity of the table is lost when I "convert text to table." Where there are (supposed to be) empty cells, data from other cells…

  9. When adding a list to a Right to Left Paragraph, tab leader disappers

    1. InDesign (Middle East) 18.1.0.51

    2. In a Right to Left Text Frame type a few words in a Right to Left Paragraph direction, following by tab with a period leader definition and then type a any any number so you will get dots between the last word and number (like in TOC). See in the attached image. Selceet one of the list options (numbering or bullets) to see the tab leader disaapers.

    3. Numbers or Bullets should be added at the begining without change the rest of the text.

  10. Unable to Rename Items Within a Layer

    Using Adobe InDesign Version 16.2.1

    I used to be able to click on the name of an item within a layer to be able to rename it. I am no longer able to do this. If I click the layer, it flashes once to allow me to change them name but immediately goes back to being normal. It will not allow me to change the name anymore. I never had trouble with this before.

  11. Across platform seamless real-time collaboration

    I think this issues is raised with the co-auther note, but it's slightly ambigious what's meant. Therefor I'll just restate that an option to collaborate and work seamless across workstations in the same InDesign document would be very helpful. Something similar to the Office-package in this regard would be amazing, where you can see what and where the other collaborators are editing and in what sections. It's a hassle to have multiple copies and remember to copy every edit into a masterfile in the end.

  12. InDesign 20.5 nonresponsive in paragraph/character styles after Windows update KB5065789

    After a Windows 11 update to "September 29, 2025—KB5065789 (OS Builds 26200.6725 and 26100.6725) Preview" InDesign is nonresponsive hanging for minutes at a time trying to navigate menu options in Paragraph Styles and Character Styles.
    The same happens with prior versions of InDesign with this Windows Update.
    Confirmed the problem occurred on two different users/machines, with a new blank document.

  13. first keystroke is missing after pasting text

    The Show Paste Options setting eats the first keystroke after pasting text. Turn this setting OFF and the problem disappears. Turn it on and you will think you're going crazy.

    1. InDesign CC 19.0.1 on macOS Ventura 13.6.1 (22G313) on Apple Silicon M2 Pro

    2. Create a new document with a text field. Make sure Show Paste Options is checked (in Preferences » Clipboard Handling... » Show Paste Options)

    3. In this example (see attached video), after pasting text, I typed "5" twice. I should see two "5"s following the pasted text.

    4. The first "5" does not register. Only the second "5"…

  14. Keyboard shortcut no longer works after CC2014 - always works before this version

    Assigning a keyboard shortcut to 'Baseline options' does not work from CC2015 onwards. (CS3 to CC2014 assigning a shortcut does work).

    If you go to 'Edit > Keyboard shortcuts > Product Area: Object Menu > Baseline Options' and add a keyboard shortcut for this, it does not work from CC2015 onwards no matter what key combination you use for the shortcut. However, CC2014 downwards it always works.

  15. Size and Position Missing from Object Styles

    "Size and Position Options" are missing from Object Styles. The option is simply not listed in the Object Styles options and I cannot find a reason for it anywhere. Everywhere I've searched says it should be there so that I can set a specific placement for an object with that style applied, but it's missing.

    I'm using the software at work. It's Adobe InDesign CC - 2017.1 release. 12.1.0.56 x64 build.

  17. Save Windows on Mac OS

    NOTE: This is a problem not just on InDesign, but also on Illustrator and Photoshop as well.

    Ever since the last upgrade for macOS Big Sur (ver 11.1), save, package and export windows have a serious issue. They don't show the pathways of the files even when you have it set to do so. Instead all you see is the options for what to include or any other information at the bottom of the window (see the attached screen shot).

  18. Paragraph border/ shading error with anchored objects

    when anchored objects (such as column Text or line numbers) are anchored in a Text using the options "Paragraph border" and "paragraph Shading" the borders and Shades will "randomly" disappear, or new border-lines will appear (when more then one paragraphs are merged, the lines always appear between the different styles, even though they work fine again when the object is de-anchored). Sometimes the appearance doesn't change when an object is anchored, but when the anchored object is edited (for example, when the size of the anchored object is changed).

    This is reproducable on my Windows 10, using InDesign 15.1.4.

  19. Make Crop Marks always outside the Bleed

    People who don't understand bleed (and they are out there) leave the Marks Offset setting on default, which causes problems when they send their files out for printing.

    There is absolutely no situation or circumstance in which it is a good idea to have the Crop Marks inside the Bleed. Not one. Not Ever.

    So why do we have to adjust the Marks Offset when we change the Bleed ? Why is it not even offered as an option in the Preferences to set this automatically ?

  20. spell check in tables

    See attached document.
    The mis-spelled word "tiime" is addressed correctly in column 1 rows 1 and 2.
    The mis-spelled word "paarty" is addressed correctly in column 2, line 1.
    The mis-spelled word "partu" is is underlined correctly in column 2, line 2, but right-clicking on the word does not bring up spelling correction options.
    "partu" will, however, be treated correctly using Edit -- Spelling -- Check Spelling... .
