InDesign Window Keeps Moving
I keep running into issues with my InDesign application window moving around. The window continually resizes itself slightly or moves to the side of the monitor (cutting off access to some of the tools) when I haven't tried to resize it. This isn't a 'once in a while' issue; it's happening consistently, multiple times a session.
I'm running Indesign 2024 on a MacBook Pro with Apple M2 Pro Chip and macOS Ventura 13.5.1.
The issue also persists on my laptop monitor and when connected to external monitors (I run one 4K colour-accurate monitor and one standard 1080p monitor).
It would…

Alignment Options Removed from Floating Panel in Latest InDesign
Is it possible that the latest version of InDesign removed the option to choose whether to align to objects or to the page from the floating Alignment panel? It was great that we could align via the top toolbar with page alignment selected while keeping object alignment in the floating panel, so we didn’t have to constantly switch between the two modes.

CC Library panel freezes and is unusable until InDesign is re-launched
In the last update or perhaps the one prior, the CC Library panel freezes and is unusable. You can't select anything, search for anything, or change libraries.
Closing the panel and opening it again has no affect.
The only workaround is to quit and re-launch InDesign. The panel will then work for a time but will freeze again at some point.
This horrendous bug is in addition to a new annoying one where you can't drag and drop a graphic from the document INTO the CC Library panel to add it. You have to select the graphic, then click the…

CC Libraries panel gets stuck a lot!
When I reboot Indesign it comes back to life but after a short time gets stuck again. Sometimes it just stops responding and sometimes the panel is also enlarged and cropped like the screenshot attached.

Caret symbol doubling in Index panel
InDesign v.13.01, Macintosh, client.
I'm listing the caret symbol in the Index but when I create an index entry for it, it appears on the Index panel as two carets (see attached). However, it shows up as a single caret in the generated index so the panel's where the problem is.

right to left direction missing from my paragraph panel
I'm working with CC 2019 and my paragraph panel doesn't have the text direction options, only world-composer options which helps somewhat but isn't enough for my layout needs, any ideas why it's missing? I'm attaching a screenshot of what I see.

Workspace Panels sending to back of main worksheet
Since today's update of Indesign, when I select a panel from the workspace , the panel is going behind my working document which is floating in the window.
If I unfloat the window of the working document, all panels are visible, but the bottom horizontal scroll bar is not visible. Quite difficult to explain, but causing usability problems1 vote -
Properties panel does not get loaded on startup if part of a current workspace
I made Properties panel part of my workspace. Saved the new updated workspace under same name (re-written).
Now when I start InDesign, last workspace gets automatically loaded but the Properties panel does not show up. Have to click in Reset workspace, only then it reappears.
Recently I added another panel to be part of my workspace (Bookmarks). This panel always shows up automatically upon launching InDesign, but the Properties panel is still missing along will other panels that are attached to it (layers, pdf comments).

Application Window 'resizes to bottom-half of screen' after waking Mac from sleep.
There is an issue with Adobe apps while using Mac M1 with an external monitor. When put in sleep, the windows and palettes move to the bottom half of the screen.
There are comments on this thread that confirm
this is an issue with specifically Adobe apps(illustrator, photoshop and indesign at least):
https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/window-and-panels-moving-when-mac-goes-to-sle...
please, Adobe support, address this issue.

Clicking on bookmark in bookmark panel resizes view
When you double-click on a bookmark in the Bookmarks Panel to go there, the view resizes to a random zoom. (Random as far as I can tell, anyway, there is probably a reason for the zoom level deep in the code).
Not sure if this is a bug or a feature request, but navigating a long document via the Bookmarks Panel would be much more useful if the view stayed at the same zoom level.

Thank you.

Window jumps to maximum size in 19.2
Since version 19.2, InDesign's window behavior has been weird and wrong. With each mouse click it jumps to the maximum window size. If I resize the window, the next mouse click will maximize it again. Very annoying. This is only in 19.2. I have a Mac Studio M1 and a 49-inch Dell U4919DW monitor (size 5120 x 1440 pixels), so I don't want to work at the full size of the screen.

App window resizes after presentation mode
InDesign 2025 (v 20.0) on Mac OS 14.6.1
When opening presentation mode (Shift + W or View > Screen Mode > Presentation …) and going back to default/preview mode the application window resizes.
When having the app window to its full size after presentation mode it changes back to its smaller size that you can toggle by using the green plus icon on the top left (Mac Version). When setting both window states manually to full size and toggling between the two (without effective size change) once it works afterwards the window stays in the same size when escaping presentation…

Links panel does not sort sublinks logically
I have linked a file with some 120 pages to document. When I sort links panel by name, "sublinks" are sorted in mess:
doc:1, doc:10, doc:101, doc:2, doc:21
instead of normal number order
doc:1, doc:2, doc:10, doc:21, doc.101.Indesign 18.4

Hyperlink window not working
Hello,
I'm working on a file from February 2020 that contains hyperlinks. Every time I click to use the Hyperlink window to edit/update urls my InDesign locks up. However, when I try this in a new file I created in December, I'm not having any issues with the hyperlinks window/tool.
I'm using the latest version of InDesign CC (16.1).
I open the file, click the Hyperlinks window and the program locks up to where I have to force quit.(Not sure if it matters - I'm adding this comment from my Mac, but I'm trying to do this work…

Layers Panel Active Layer not active and not scrolled to in the panel when switching back to a document
In Adobe InDesign, when switching between open documents, the Layers Panel Active Layer is not active (highlighted) and not on screen (due to the layers list scrolling all the way to the top) for my document which has many layers.
Every time I switch back to the document (with many layers) I have to use the Layers Panel scroll bar to try and find the active layer again. This is very tedious.1 vote -
[ID-4256670]InDesign crashes while navigating through Parent Pages in Pages Panel
InDesign 20.0
Click on the first parent page in the panel and use option + page down to navigate. When you reach a parent page that is not used in the document, you can go no further.
Click the last parent in the panel and use option + page up to navigate. Either the selection jumps to the first parent page in the panel or InDesign crashes.
1 voteThe fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2025(v20.0.1.032). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.
If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application click on the context menu on the top right, and click on Check for App Updates.

Weird display bug in bookmark panel
- Latest Indesign on Windows 10 (1709)
- Open document, open bookmark panel
- Show all bookmarks correctly
- Bookmarks are randomly cut in the middle of letters
- Screenshot attached.
Info: the INDD file was made in ID CS6 and now opened in ID CC, then saved. TOC and bookmarks have been recreated after this, but the problem remains. The weird thing is, this suddenly happened today. I've been using CC since 11-30-17 and before today it was OK.

InCopy: Paragraph Panel Bugs When Placed in Top Menu Area
I’ve noticed an issue with the Paragraph panel when it's placed in the top menu area of InCopy. The Space After option disappears and only becomes visible when the panel is pulled out or moved to the right-side menu.
Additionally, the Drop Cap feature behaves oddly in the top menu. It restricts the character selection to a range of 6-150. However, once the panel is pulled out, I can select 1 character as expected.
Please ensure the Paragraph panel functions consistently in all locations, similar to how it works in InDesign, where I haven’t encountered these issues.
Also, I couldn’t…

When opening two documents as tabbed one window group, ID does not auto-fit the resulting taller window onto full screen
Make adding the additional document tab fit the resulting tabbed window into the same space the old one without tabs occupied.
