  2. live gaussian blur

    There is a feature that I have been missing in InDesign for years, but which is/was realised in Adobe XD, for example: Live Gaussian Blur (see screenshot). There you could assign this to an object as a property: ‘Blur background’, set parameters and you're done! In InDesign, this can only be achieved by tedious workarounds ...

  3. 2018 Indesign/Incopy Check In Prompt On Close Does Not Actually Check in.

    If we close Indesign or Incopy without checking in, the program will ask us if we want to. When we choose to check in, Adobe will act like it Checks In and then closes, but the changes are never saved back to the original file. Check In only works if we choose Check In manually before closing.

  4. When relinking multiple files Skip causes a cancel, not a skip

    Version of Adobe InDesign, InCopy or InDesign Server
    14.0.2.324

    Steps to reproduce the issues
    1. Select multiple files in the Links panel.
    2. Click the Relink button.
    3. Click on the Skip button at the bottom of the dialogue

    Expected result
    The current file is skipped an I can continue to relink other files selected

    Actual result
    The relink process is canceled

    There is already a Cancel button so the Skip button should provide a different result. It seems intuitive that Skip means Skip this file, but continue with the other selected files.

  5. IDML Export and package

    4. Since I've updated to the latest version of Indesign 2024 (19.5), the creation of IDML (export and package) are extremly slow. When I have to assemble a lot of files, I get bogged down in production and lose a lot of time.

  6. In some Hebrew fonts, part of the letter punctuation is missing or appears in the wrong place

    Adobe version 17.0.1.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Copy text with punctation, (like the poem from here: https://benyehuda.org/read/30477).
    2. Create in InDesign an RTL text area, and paste the text.
    3. Change font to Alef Regular.
    Expected results: correct location of punctation marks inside letters and above.
    Actual results: missing or wrong location.

  7. Why can't InDesign import and edit pdfs or images without plug in

    When I try to import pdf or jpeg into Adobe InDesign 2023 desktop it says required plug in is missing. Since I am paying monthly for the full 2023 version why do I need a plug in? I am on older computer that uses Windows 10. Will I have this problem if I upgrade my computer?

  8. Spinning Ball Every Couple of Keystrokes

    I get the spinning ball every few seconds with InDesign - extremely frustrating! I've tried everything suggested in the community forums.

    I'm running a brand new MacBook Pro (16" 2020 with 2.3GHz/Radeon Pro 5500M/32GB/2TB), with Catalina 10.15.6 and InDesign CC 15.1.2. I've used this MBP for LESS THAN A WEEK, and have NO preferences established-it's super clean right now.

    So frustratingly slow! Spinning ball every couple of keystrokes. Productivity killed.

    I tried everything people have recommended in the community forum including dumping preferences; turning off GPU Performance; changing color preferences to Apple RGB; I have no 3rd party applications running;…

  9. Error on Save : "Indesign is unable to save this file. We tried, but appears to be damaged."

    While using In Design 18.2.1 on macOS 13.5.2 I am getting the above error (See attached screenshot) whenever I try to save a new file or save as an existing file on an NFS share. The server is not at fault here, as I'm able to Save new files from Adobe Illustrator for instance.

  10. In a pixel-dimensioned InDesign document the pixels are always magnetic. There is no option like in Illustrator to deselect 'magnetic pixels

    In all version of InDesign, as far as I can remember, pixel dimensioned documents have magnetic pixels. In Illustrator there is an option to deselect magnetic pixels. In InDesign it fails. At least, I think. And the technical assistant from Adobe thinks so.
    For instance: if you try to draw a rectangle 3.4 x 4.2 pixels, you can not.

  11. Source Serif Pro font baseline not consistent

    I'm using Indesign 15.0 on MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) running Mojave version 10.14.6

    I'm experiencing a bug with the Source Serif Pro font , which I use extensively in a particular project.

    I open an existing document, and the text in Source Serif Pro looks as you'd expect it to. When I start to edit the text however, it all jumps down as if the baseline settings of the text frame has been changed (although checking in the settings confirms they haven't been).

    Copying and pasting the frame, or the text into a new frame, doesn't help.

  12. "Windows version 1709 not supported" yet, "You must update your system to install InDesign v15.0"

    Hi Adobe Team - Searching your site it sounds like Windows 10 should not be a barrier to working in the latest version of InDesign, but I am unable to install InDesign v15.0 on my work computer.

    My Creative Cloud Desktop window displays the below message in quotes:

    "Update required
    You must update your system to install lnDesign. Please check the following:
    Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 10 or later (Note: Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 version 1507, Windows 10 version 1511, Windows 10 version 1703 and Windows 10 version 1709 are not supported)"

  13. Crash when exporting to pdf - WHEN IS THIS GETTING FIXED

    So I've had this issue now for over five years and still nothing has been fixed despite me sinking thousands of pounds in subscription fees to this steaming pile of an app. We do lots of presentations that have other indesign files as links and we are constantly getting crashes when we export to pdf - I've been on with adobe with this and they insist it's corrupt files that cause this, yet when I proved to them that it wasn't they just stopped replying to them - great customer service.     We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

    If you still face this issue even after updating, please submit the crash report to us. (Guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html )

    Also, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

    • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when InDesign crashed?
    • Video recording of the crash

  15. AGLFN: ZWJ, ZWNJ, ZWS in PDF

    Indesign is not written ZWJ (U+200D), ZWNJ (U+200C), ZWS (U+200B) with its glyph name uni200D, uni200C, uni200B respectively.

    This is not helping in copying the text with ZWJ (U+200D), ZWNJ (U+200C), ZWS (U+200B) from PDF.

    These non-printing characters are copied has "space" instead.

    These non-printing characters in Indic scripts are part of text. With and without these characters, text can changes its meaning.

    Please support these characters with AGLFN glyph names in fonts in Indesign, PDF export feature.

  16. InDesign steals focus in Windows 10 - again (2022)

    If you switch to another application, while InDesign is launching, InDesign will steal the focus back, even repeatedly if you are quick enough to switch to the other application more than once, and/or have a slow computer (e.g. battery saver mode while opening a large document may exaggerate the problem).

    I'm fairly certain that this irritating behaviour was gone from late 2017, since the earlier bug report (https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/31913773-indesign-steals-focus-in-windows-10) was closed after lack of activity (3 years old) in 2021, and the old thread on the forum https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/how-to-prevent-adobe-software-stealing-focus-in-windows-10-locked/td-p/7773884/page/5 was active until late 2017.…

  17. Indesign Layers in Illustrator

    I have a InDesign files that i export in PDF files, when i open this PDF files in Adobe Acrobat i have all my layers available
    But when i open it in Illustrator, i lost all my layers
    it's very important for me to work with InDesign and Illustrator and keep layers between those 2 software

  18. Display misalignment when dragging left and right.

    When using Adobe InDesign, I encounter a display glitch whenever I pan left and right by holding down the spacebar, resulting in visual artifacts as shown in the screenshot. The display returns to normal after zooming with the Alt key, but the issue consistently reappears upon panning again.

    I am running InDesign v20.5 (64-bit) on Windows 11.

  19. Shuts down without any error message

    Adobe Indesign v 18.2.1 on Windows 11

    The app just decides to close by its own at somepoint during the work, without any error message.

    If you open the same file again, it closes again when you repeat your last action.

    I tried saving it with another name, close the app, restart the notebook, and it keeps heappening.

  20. Text box (&photoBox) LAG & MOVE after clicking / editing

    When clicking on TXT box indesign freezes for about 1s then it's moving text box ON ITS OWN by few pixels (please take a look at video: 1-2s, 12-14s, 22-24s) like how is this happening??? It doesn't matter if the document is big or small, new or old - I've tried all options it's doing it every single time!!! I can't work since it;s driving me crazy FIX IT ASAP:
