1. XMP file info dialog box (for linked images) no longer shows up

   I clicked the flyout menu in the Links panel, and choose to display the XMP file info and the dialog box doesn't show up. It's like it is off screen somewhere, as all the menus are then grayed out. I can hit Escape a few times to get out of it. But sometimes InDesign totally locks up and I have to force quit.

2. Image selection triggers frozen Adobe Help video pop up , makes me lose any shortcut

   Whenever I click an image; what seems to be a still from a video ( looks like a help video from Adobe ) comes into the left corner, disabling any other shortcut. Can't seem to disable these videos anywhere and it just pops up.
   Especially the undo is utmost anoying.

3. InDesign CC 2026 - Arrange windows does not use full screen area

   When using InDesign without the application frame ("Anwendungsrahmen" in the german version we use) active, opening multiple documents and trying to arrange them with any of the options in Windows > Arrange ("Fenster" > "Anordnen") the windows are arranged according to the deactivated/invisible application frame and not the full screen as in previous versions. Also, when the application frame is scaled to the full screen and then deactivated, the arranged windows keep a thin row on the bottom of the screen free (and overlap in the vertical center by this amount). Please see attached screens for visualization.

   2. Steps to reproduce:

   3. Deactivate the application frame Window > Application frame ("Anwendungsrahmen")

   4. Create multiple documents (in this example 4 documents)

   5. Use the command Window > Arrange > "Neben-/Untereinander"

   6. Windows are arranged according to the deactivated/invisible application frame instead of the full screen area.

   7. Expected result:
      Windows arranged within the available screen area as in previous version (see attached screenshot "InDesign CC2025.png", this shows the correct behaviour in InDesign CC 2025)

4. indesign gets stuck in opening a document without the fonts

   The software gets stuck in opening a document without the fonts!!! till the Missing font window will appear
   That's crazy!
   I just want to check an old file or look for a detail and I HAVE TO WAIT A MINUTE and Meanwhile all the documents are STUCK!!
   WHY??

5. InDesign application does not render correctly upon program launch in Windows 10

   When launching InDesign in Windows 10, the window renders with missing icons, input boxes (eg: coordinates and size boxes) and backgrounds. When a new document is opened and it launches, random graphics from the document also are displayed.

   Please see attached image for example. I am able to reproduce. Each time, the window must be moved or hovered over by mouse to fix.

   This has been going on since upgrading from CS6 to CC from CC 2017 to CC 2018 (current) in Windows 10. Please let me know if you require details of my hardware or software specifications.

7. IDML export breaks structure when there is a tagged single row table at the start of a story

   When exporting an InDesign document to IDML and re-opening it, a specific set of conditions causes the tag applied to a table to be incorrectly reordered in the XML structure, and an extraneous <Table> tag to be inserted.

   This issue occurs when the table is a single-row table and is the very first element in the story (no preceding text or content). This bug disrupts the intended tag hierarchy, breaking workflows that depend on accurate XML structure.

   Steps to Reproduce:

   1. Create a new InDesign document.
   2. Create a text frame on the page.
   3. Within the text frame, insert a table.
   4. a. Ensure the table is the very first element in the story (before any other text or content).
   5. b. Set the table to have only one row.
   6. Apply a tag to the table (in my example CustomTable).
   7. Export to IDML
   8. Open the IDML
   9. Open the Structure Panel and examine the structure. You will observe the following:
   10. a. The "CustomTable" tag now appears before a <Table> tag representing the table. The expected order is the <CustomTable> tag encapsulating, the cells.
   11. b. The "CustomTable" tag is before the actual table in the story, without any content inside of it.

   Expected Result:
   The structure of the document should be maintained after exporting to IDML and re-opening.

   Actual Result:
   The custom tag appears before the table and a <Table> tag is added to the structure, disrupting the intended structure of the XML.

   Environment:
   InDesign 2024 (19.5)
   InDesign 2025 (20.1)
   Windows 11

9. color menu at the top of the window doesn't stick

   When I try and click the colour selector at the top of the screen it doesn't do anything, or the palette flashes for a second and then disappears. InDesign version 20.1, MacOS Sonoma 14.7.2. Sometimes when I click it the computer jumps to a different app. Once or twice the app has crashed.

10. InDesign opens destination folder when exporting.

    My InDesign opens the destination folder when exporting PDF-files. In my work I export files daily and I have to export them separately. So when I do this, after the export has completed successfully, the destination folder opens up automatically, which is very annoying. I can't seem to find any place, where I can turn this off. I can only turn it ON, if I don't export separately.

    1. brand new update CC 2019
    2. Create a document with more than 2 pages. Export all the pages separately.
    3. That it exports the pages separately into the destination folder without having the need to watch them in that folder (I use Bridge).
    4. It opens the destination folder in a new folder window.

11. Master Pages text frame

    Version 14.0.3 in Windows 7.

    1. Created a documents with facing pages and primary text frames
    2. Master A with text frame rule so can visible.
    3. Created Master B which is based on Master A
    4. Resized text frame of Master A
    5. Impact on master B.. Text frame shifted out of page area.

    This strange behavior is while resizing using mouse drag. If resize through control panel it's perfect. But if move both mouse and through x,y control panel same strange behavior.

12. Wrong menu gets expanded while clicking on an item on Menu bar in InDesign

    Thank you for your support all this while. The issue is now fixed in the latest update of InDesign.
    Please upgrade to the new InDesign 14.0 from your Creative Cloud Application.

    If you are unable to see the update yet, click on the menu (three dots) on the top right corner of Creative cloud app and click on “Check for App Updates”.

13. [ID-4273456] Press the opt/alt key after dragging, it duplicated to the incorrect layer

    InDesign 2026 （and earlier, too）I was found out in CS6.

    Issue:
    When drag and duplicate any object, the duplicate destination will be the previous active layer under certain conditions.

    Reproduction procedure:
    1 Layer panel "Paste Remembers Layers" check off
    2 Unselect, and duplicate the object Activate layers other than the layers of the object
    3 Start dragging and add the option/alt key in the middle of dragging
    4 After dragging, the object is duplicated to the layer that was active in step 2

    Ideal result:
    The uplication by dragging will be duplicated to the same layer as the original regardless of any setting.

    I really hope to correct it.

    2 選択を解除し、複製するオブジェクトのレイヤー以外のレイヤーをアクティブにする
    3 ドラッグを開始し、ドラッグの途中でoption/altキーを追加する
    4 ドラッグ終了後、オブジェクトは手順2でアクティブだったレイヤーに複製される

    理想の結果
    ドラッグによる複製はいかなる設定にも関係なくオリジナルと同一のレイヤーに複製されること

    InDesign fails to open or place files with long paths in Windows. The "Long Paths Enabled" registry setting is enabled (i.e. it is set to 1). The problem affects several functions:

    1. From Bridge, Place > In Indesign causes "Script Alert: Error: Expected a reference to an existing File/Folder"

    2. DataMerge in InDesign: images with long paths are skipped, i.e. aren't merged. There is no error message.

    3. From InDesign. I cannot manually place a file with a long path through the “Place” dialog box. The dialog box will display the folder and thumbnails, but when I click the image to place it, I get the following error: “The file could not be opened. You may not have permission or the file may be in use by another application.”

    All of these symptoms suggests that InDesign does not support Long Paths in Windows.

    InDesign 2021 16.2.1 x64
    Windows 10 Home 64-bit

15. Create Merged Document causes Indesign to hang and crash

    1. Version of Adobe InDesign, InCopy or InDesign Server: Adobe InDesign 2021 v16.4 macOS Big Sur 11.6
    2. Steps to reproduce the issues: Select Data Source in Data Merge panel options Assign data placement field in document's master page Click "Create Merged Document..." in Data Merge panel options
    3. Expected result: InDesign should insert data from selected source document and create new pages for all records.
    4. Actual result: Source document is imported correctly, and preview in Data Merge panel displays correct data, but when I click "Create Merged Document..." in Data Merge panel options it cause Indesign to hang, the application stops responding and I need to Force Quit. 16. some pages are not displayed

    when scrolling, some pages are not displayed (always the same). The work plan remains black. You have to double-click twice in the pages panel (where they remain displayed) to see them displayed on the desktop.
    My document has 116 pages and 18 layers.

17. Bottom toolbar/scroll bar dissapears when in fullscreen mode

    At first i thought it was my monitors, but it also does it when I have InDesign open on my laptop. I'm running the latest Microsoft update, and when I select Fullscreen on the InDesign window, the bottom bar disappears, so I'm unable to use the bottom scrollbar. It only re-appears when i minimize the window

18. Freeze after using default New Hyperlink to URL

    (I didn't see a category for Freeze. I figure Crash is pretty close.)

    In InDesign 15.0.3 on Windows 10:

    I had just finished inserting a hyperlink by selecting Chess.com, bringing up the New Hyperlink panel (with the 'To URL' option up), and pressing Enter.
    After waiting 15 minutes, it was still hung.
    It was the only app running.
    When I right-clicked on the InDesign icon on the taskbar and clicked 'Close window', a dialog box popped up saying, "Save changes to the Adobe InDesign document "16 - Glossary.indd" before closing?
    I clicked 'Yes'.
    It closed that dialog box and popped up with an alert saying, "Cannot save "16 - Glossary.indd".
    Repeated twice. Same results.
    Then I clicked 'No'.
    It closed out the document, then the "Save changes box popped up again."
    When I clicked 'Yes' there, InDesign closed down.

    When I launched InDesign again, it pretended it had loaded my standard workspace ("David's"), but hadn't. It didn't load it until I chose Windows > Workspace > Reset David's.

    The problem did not reproduce.

    (I didn't see a category for Freeze. I figure Crash is pretty close.)

    In InDesign 15.0.3 on Windows 10:

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received an email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) as it is more robust and contains a lot of bug fixes.

    We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

19. PDF Comments not hiding

    PDF Comment import does not hide comments on the layout after the Hide Comments on Layout button is pressed.

    The following is the process I followed:
    - Displayed the PDF Comments pane in InDesign.
    - Imported comments from PDF's.
    - Selected the Hide Comments on Layout Button in the PDF Comments pane.
    * Comments are hidden from view.
    - Leave the InDesign window
    - Return to InDesign, and some of the comment boxes are shown, some are not shown, and some are partially shown (the box is cut in half).
    - Move cursor over the Show Comments on Layout button. Can confirm that it notes Show comments and not Hide Comments.
    - Click Show Comments on Layout and all the comment boxes appear again
    - Click Hide Comments on Layout and they all disappear again.
    - Leave the window, and return.
    * Half the boxes are there, the other half missing and some show partially.

20. Widows/ Orphans/ Runts

    Please allow us to automatically apply No Break GREP style .{10}$ without needing to create a "No Break" style and applying it to paragraph styles individually.

    In the Paragraph window, a checkbox next to "Hyphenate" that reads "Remove Runts" or "No Short Break" executes this process automatically would be wonderful. It seems logical since I imagine the automatic "Hyphenate" works in a similar way.
