  1. InDesign 2019 Begins failing to export PDFs after short period of operating

    InDesign 2019 | Mac OS Mojave

    After a short period of time InDesign Fails anytime I try to export a PDF. I get the Error notification and just a Failed to export message. Restarting InDesign does not fix this, however if I restart my entire machine (enormous, frustrating pain in my workflow) it resume saving PDFs for a short period of time and them begin failing again until the next restart.

    No other Software is having this issue, Adobe or otherwise.

  2. "PDF not Created in InDesign"

    A PDF was exported from Adobe InDesign, opened in Abobe Acrobat, annotation tools were used, and the PDF was saved under a new file name. Attempting to open the comments in InDesign with the "Import PDF Comments" tool returns an error stating the PDF was not created in InDesign.... but it was, and only Adobe tools have been used.

  3. InDesign fails to launch

    I cannot start InDesign on my Windows 10 notebook even though the rest of the Adobe apps work relatively well. On my main PC it runs without any problems. I tried re-installing the software, but it didn't help.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

  4. Exporting Fixed Layout ePub files from InDesign has errors

    A document exported from InDesign with a fixed layout selected has errors included in the file. Actually, the fixed layout epub is not able to be opened even in Adobe Editions PC version. Can this error be addressed and fixed?

  6. Autosave issues? More frequent spinning beach ball for 15-20 seconds - unable to do anything

    I assume this is related to Autosave because it only happens in Adobe products. I just upgraded to Big Sur (another buggy and annoying "upgrade") and the spinning beach ball happens twice as often now, and it lasts almost twice as long.

    It's so f*cking annoying because I'm unable to do anything. It just happened and lasted 20 grueling seconds.

    I bought a new MacBook Pro (late 2019) and I've never had more annoying bugs and intrusive, workflow-killing weirdness going on in the 15 years I've been using both. Apple blames Adobe and Adobe blames Apple.

  7. Latest Indesign Slowdown on M1 Chip

    I am on the Macbook M1 Air with 16.2 and still experiencing random slowdowns when editing text, moving images, all the basic functions of InDesign.

    I have removed all Adobe CC apps, removed all plugins, used a cleaner. I am now running the latest clean Silicon version of InDesign and experiencing the same issues.

    I turned off GPU enhancements as folks recommended, which helped, but it still shows the beachball from time to time whenever I try a simple task.

  8. PageMaker import doesn't work.

    InDesign is supposed to import PageMaker 6.5 documents. Adobe gives instructions for it here: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/converting-quarkxpress-pagemaker-documents.html#convert_pagemaker_documents

    This doesn't work. Not only are p65 files not recognized as loadable by default, but attempting to load them forcibly results in an error message from InDesign.

  9. Share for Review: there was an error updating the artifact. NOT updating!

    Adobe InDesign CC 2024

    I am working a magazine. The size is pretty large, lots of pictures. I was able to create the Share for Review link, and share it. But I am unable to update. Although, I copy the link, open the address in Google Chrome and my edits show. When I mark a pin resolved, it does not show in my indesign file.

  10. PDF Export causes Acrobat to crash

    I am having trouble exporting InDesign files to PDF.

    This is what I'm seeing:
    Exporting PDFs from InDesign works fine if no PDF is open. If you have a PDF already open or are exporting a 2nd PDF with the first still open it crashes Adobe.

    I have updated Windows to a later version, checked drivers, the event viewer logs. I looked for similar issues online, repaired Acrobat from Control panel and from within the app.

  11. UI Artifact on Apple M1 Max with ultrawide screen

    Display Artifacts

    • Macbook Pro (2021)
    • Apple M1 Max
    • macOS 12.6
    • Display: C49RG9X @ 5120x1440 120Hz
    • App: Adobe Indesign 2023 v18.0

    Ever since switching from an Intel mac to M1 mac, indesign randomly display this artifact anywhere when I scroll thru my working document. Previous 2022 version also suffer this problem, it's totally random. Only way I can get rid of this is zoom in and out and the artifact will go away. (Screenshot blur out some element for privacy purpose).

    Also maybe this is also related to sleep & wake up of the mac on ultrawide resolution, after waking up…

  12. ePub

    I create very simple ePubs in Indesign CC 2018. When I export them as ePub version 3 they print perfectly from Adobe Digital Editions on a Mac but print as blank pages or spool to postscript indefinitely from Adobe Digital Editions, on a PC, in Windows. When exported in the older version ePub 2.01 they work and print fine on both Mac and Windows. So my question is: why is ePub version 3 an option from Indesign when it isn't fully supported in Adobe Digital Editions on the Windows platform most popular with the user base? Is there a solution/workaround…

  13. hide cursor in presentation mode

    When in presentation mode (shift+w) I would like to be able to hide the cursor. Even if I move it to the edge of the screen, it's still visible and distracting from the presentation itself.

  14. Find similar image

    On the latest update 18.4, the find similar image function is not working like before. I've even used an image from the Adobe stock library and it cannot find its own image. With the last version, this feature worked as expected.

    To reproduce this issue, place an Adobe stock image in InDesign, right-click on it and choose "find similar image".

  15. "comp_core_log" folder is created

    1. Adobe InDesign 16.2.1.102
    2. When the component information dialog is displayed for the first time after launching InDesign.
    3. Just the component information dialog is displayed.
    4. An empty folder named "compcorelog" is created on the desktop.

    This may not be a bug, but deleting an empty folder every time I check the document history is a bit annoying.

  18. Anomalous character missing glyph in the Story editor – Serious file problems

    I report a bug regarding an InDesign document of an anomalous character that is found in the "Story editor", which has already been reported in older versions of Adobe Indesign.
    (OS version: BigSur 11.3.1)
    (Adobe InDesign version: 16.2)

    As you can see in the examples that I attach, the text presents problems and I believe it is caused (or highlighted) by the missing glyph signs in each line of the "story editor", which does not appear to exist in the text.

    The problem is not solved by making the file idml.

  19. InDesign totally unusable for large threaded tables after 2015 version

    Using Windows 10 Pro, high end computer (Ryzen 1800X, 32Gb RAM, NVMe SSD, 1080Ti)

    Create an Excel file with 8000 rows of random data, place into InDesign with as unformatted table.

    Use shift-click to create pages and thread the table to each page.

    Try to scroll without InDesign freezing for 30 seconds. I can't.

    I have tried:
    - Cleaning preferences / logging on different username to have a fresh profile
    - Using a different computer
    - Turning off preflight
    - Using fast display performance
    - Change the composer away from world ready, trying single line instead of paragraph

  20. current page marker font malfunction if 3 digits or more

    The third digit and beyond in the "current page number" marker is distorted in certain fonts, and almost appears to be an old style number (shifted down and squished), even when I set the font's Figure Style to "Proportional Lining" under Paragraph Style > OpenType Features > Figure Style. In fact, it also seems to do it in automated footnote reference numbers, where control of the Figure Style doesn’t seem to work either.
