Find/Replace text (date) after using Convert Date to Text function
>>I am trying to replace text in multiple stories throughout the document. Each story is formatted with text and tabs (not a table). The find/change uses the FIND/CHANGE>TEXT option. I am searching for "28 May 2025" to change it to "2 July 2025". When I search, find, find/change, and change all, the results append the page number in triplicate in front of the leading date digit. For example, page 9 (attached) is "0909092 July 2025" and page 42 is "4242422 July 2025". When I copied the text to include in this report (see attached), only date date is captured

Find/Change Text dialog does not show all Search options.
>>>after making a selection, the Find/Change text dialog sometimes does not offer Selection in the Search dropdown. It will be present under GREP and Object, but not Text and Glyph. Closing/reopening Find/Change does not fix it. Restarting InDesign usually fixes it...until it goes missing again.

Bug: copying text set to French between documents changes language
>>Windows 11, Indesign 20.1
…
> Problem description: I have six documents, two in German, two in English, two in French. In all six is a paragraph with the same name, but the language setting is according to the document language. Means, the style is set to French (for spelling checker) in the french documents. When copying text by copy & paste from one french document to the others, the language setting of that text in the target document changes to German. This doesn't happen when copying english text from an english document to the other english document,1 vote -
alt text issues
>>I'm trying to apply alt text to vector objects and some elements in a table manually in indesign. The "object export options" window isn't allowing me to change the alt text source to custom or anything else besides structure and I am unable to edit/add anything in regards to alt text. I've tested it on other text and images/elements within the document and still run into the same issue.
>>I'm having a difficult time trying to create an accessible tagged PDF due to this issue and many of the tutorials or help documents are outdated for CC capabilities.

Exporting a Snippet Causes Crash
>>>Whenever I try to export a snippet, either through dragging the ID item onto the desktop, or by going to File > Export > Snippet, InDesign will crash. The only way to get a snippet is by adding it to a library by using the flout menu in the Library panel.

Message about pasting text with endnotes shows up one paste later
>>Pasting text with endnote(s) does not show a message. You instead get that message the next time you paste an object, even if that object is not a text box containing endnote(s).
>>There is also a grammar error in the message, where the word "and" should be ", which" — and there is no period at the end of the sentence.
>>This has been in the last few versions of InDesign. I am using 15.0.1 now.

text lag is severe in 17.3 compared to slight lag in 17.2
>>>Mac OS 12.5, Indesign 17.3
>>anything that makes text reflow: Text edits, style changes, text wrap around an object lag severely in 17.3. The more text the longer the lag. Can be multiple seconds on a single page doc up to just crashing on an edit to a 50+ page doc when reflowing text.

Hyperlink alt text is ignored in the latest version of Indesign
>>>When creating or editing a hyperlink there is an option to add alt text. If you add alt text to your link and export an accessible PDF the alt text is ignored. I have a document with a ton of hyperlinks that all need alt text which we have added but don't come through because of this bug. Now I'm forced to add them again to the PDF.
>19 votesAccording to the ISO-32000, the Hyperlinks are NOT supposed to be populated into the Alt-Text field. They should be entered into the Contents Key (see attachment) instead.
InDesign currently does place them in the correct place [see screenshot attached].
While someone using Acrobat can also add them to the Alt-text field, this is technically less correct than entering into the Contents key but either will pass an Accessibility checker.InDesign implemented this correctly based on the above information (provided by Accessibility experts, like Dax Castro, thanks Dax).

InDesign online help lacks an important point (bug in help text, not in the app)
>>>You should mention in the online help text at >https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/frames-objects.html#object_export_options_cc_cs6_cs5_5> that a vector object's alt text will >not> be included in the epub file unless you also set the export settings to rasterize the object. (Basically: you can't include a vector object to an epub file in a vector format. Not even it's alt text.)
