Can not paste text in inDesign
I am running InDesign CC 13.1 on osMac High Sierra, and am unable to COPY text from any web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) and PASTE it into inDesign. It crashes every time. I AM able to paste the text into a Pages document and THEN copy/paste into inDesign — but all character information is gone (formatting, alignment, spacing, etc.)

Problem with Bookmarks that contain special characters
I have a document with bookmarks that contain phrases with words containing special characters (specifically Italian accents, for example: L’ubiquità della collaborazione)
Then I have buttons at the top of the document. Each button links to a specific bookmark. If the bookmarks contain this characters/accents, the button don't work.
So the buttons only work when linking to bookmarks not contain special characters/accents.Solved the problem by changing the procedure I used to create bookmarks:
This is what WON'T WORK:
- highlighting all the text and then create a bookmark.
Pro: The bookmarks are added automatically with all the sentence that…4 votes -
Datamerge Slow
The datamerge feature is unacceptable. I am creating about 100 nametags for a small event, and am merging data from a Tab Delimited Text file (CSV files DO NOT work apparently). I even replaced the 3x4 nametag graphics (.ai) with a frame to minimize graphics usage. I am only including first and last names, and it can’t even merge that!!! Any suggestions or is this feature just complete garbage?
I’m on a late 2014 15” MB Pro with NVIDIA graphics card, running High Sierra with APFS.

Why does InDesign not include all new Pantone colors?
I have 2 year old Pantone book and InDesign doesn't even include all of those colors. Fix your stupid software so it is up to date. Paying for this lousy software every month makes me feel like I am being robbed.

Publish Online Dashboard Analytics disappearing...
Apparently, the analytics for Publish Online are disappearing. Possibly anything before the most recent 25 are gone. Will those be returning? Can we recover that data? My clients need the info and sometimes request it months later, and we publish a ton of stuff using the system.

Page panel and some others have some problems
Hi, I'm using Indesign CC (13.1 x64) on Windows 10. After the last upgrade (past week) there is a problem with the pages panel (see attached images): the last raw of page are without number (it seems it's hide under the panel frame) and even if i try to extend at maximum the panel, those numbers are still under the frame.
Also I had the same problem with the link panel, but solved it extending the panel.8 votesClosed: Not Reproducible ·AdminSanyam Talwar (Senior Lead Software Engineer, Adobe InDesign) responded

Document Fonts Package Between WINDOWS & MAC Not Recognized
Hello.
There is a problem when doings packages between Windows & Mac OS : since years when you do a package on an OS through another the fonts saved in the folder "Document Fonts" is not recognized by the OS...
So we can't open & modify the document when we received a package from Windows when we are on MAC OS or vice-versa.
So we need the client to supply the fonts one by one which is quite annoying.

Updating table of contents causes a previously placed graphic to be placed in the table of contents
Updating the table of contents causes InDesign to place a previously placed Illustrator file into the table of contents area. It also adds a new link in the document for this duplicated graphic.
I'm running Windows 10 on a Dell Precision 670 workstation with 32 Gb of ram and a few terrabytes of storage.

Separations Preview
Like previous versions of InDesign CC the color separations preview still does not work correctly.
When user tries to view separations by turning a color separation off, or toggling back and forth between colors, the visible page in the document goes completely haywire - scattering elements and superimposing images from other nearby pages. See attached screenshots of the issue.
This has been an issue for awhile and I am dismayed it still has not been addressed as it is a very useful function in the printing industry. Since the launch of CC I have had to check my separations in…

InDesign crashing when exporting book to pdf
Hi there. I just got updated InDesign through CC and am in the process of updating old files/documents created in CS5.5. Several of them are InDesign books including 6-10 separate documents (there are a couple books which share similar documents). I'm able to export the individual documents as a pdf just fine, but when I try to export the book it crashes. I've tried recreating the book with the same documents, but no luck. Other ideas?

I have marked this issue as “Under Review” for consideration by the InDesign team.-Aman

Specific circumstances where an RGB black cannot change to CMYK
To replicate this fault, please do the following:
1) Create a new document using the web workspace.
2) In the new document, open the swatches palette and note that the default colours show the RGB color spaces.
3) From the Edit Menu, go to transparency blend space and change it from RGB to CMYK.
4) Go to document setup and change the intent of the document from web to print. What SHOULD happen:
All colours in the swatches panel should go to CMYK;What ACTUALLY happens:
All colours in the swatches panel remain RGB. This results in an RGB black…3 votes -
Indesign will not tag endnotes to XML
When Adding untagged items to the Structure, Indesign promptly states that Endnotes are not supported for XML tagging. I use XML tagging process for creating reliable Accessible WCAG compliant PDFs, and other export requirements. Please make Endnotes USEFUL - 1. keep in same story (not an additional frame) and make tagging process available.
OR... a way to convert endnotes to linked cross references - even in tables!

Problem with deleting placed pdf file
Indesign cc 13.1.076
Question: Open indesign, open previously named and saved blank document, put multiple pdf documents on the desktop (link method), put two pages of pdf document into groups or not grouped into pages, flip pages Pdf document, print document. Press del to delete the pdf file. At this time, the indesign cc will crash. After the crash, restart indesign cc and repeat the operation. The probability of crash is much smaller.

Repeatable InDesign Crash with Open Office Data in the Clipboard
I am running InDesign CC, the current version as of March 2018, however I have seen this same bug in older versions of the program. It is not unique to this version.
We use Apache OpenOffice 4.1.0. If there is ANYTHING in the clipboard copied from ANY part of Open Office, it will cause a repeatable InDesign crash. The clipboard data could be text from the OpenOffice Writer program or cell data from the OpenOffice Calc program...it doesn't matter.
With Open Office data in the clipboard, if I attempt to use any of the right-click menus, or choose an item…
