Drag or transform creates unwanted duplicate of object
Moving any object (text, image, etc) with either the Move tool or Direct Selection tool creates a duplicate without having any other keys pressed (eg, option/alt).
Also when repositioning an object with Properties > Transform it also creates a duplicate of the object.

Clearing Prefs and restarting the computer resolved the issue.

I'm not sure if whether deleting Prefs or changing my Mouse made a difference but it would appear that I can now use the Move tool without issue.

I am getting a similar issue but I am also experiencing a problem whereby when I select a text frame with either the Move or Direct Selection tool it invokes the text tool. This can be very frustrating as it doesn't always happen. I have a large catalogue which requires the removal of prices featured in a text box plus the update (position and colour of SKUs). Due to the data merge approach I need to select one at a time each text frame. I might get to the 8th one and it invokes the text tool. Which means I need to start again, hoping that it doesn't repeat the issue. It's almost as though the tool is too sensitive - anyway I can make it less sensitive?
