Hypertextual link panel doesn't work properly
Hypertextual link panel: in 2024 version when I add a long URL selecting it from the text and using the "+" button, it doesn't add all the selected text but only some chars. You have to double click the row in the panel and add the rest of the link in the field

screen redraw
InDesign 18.x through 19.5. Mac, Apple Silicon, M1 Max w/ 96 GB RAM and at least 1 TB free storage, M3 Max w/128 GB Ram and at least 1 TB free storage.
Basically, sometimes the screen becomes “corrupted” and weirdly glitched. Closing the file and reopening fixes it, but that is not acceptable when it is super frequent. Which it is.
This has been a problem for over a year, across multiple full InDesign versions. It happened on my M1 MacBook Pro, and still happening on my M3.

Certain dialogue boxes appear partially off screen and can't be moved back on screen
Certain dialogue boxes appear partially off screen and can't be moved back on screen. For example, the Find/Change dialogue box and the Export dialogue box [specifically export to PDF (Print)] have both become almost unusable for me because important sections of those two boxes are located off screen. See attached screenshots. Dialogue boxes that allow you to expand them by clicking and dragging the edges/corners of the box are less of an issue - they often appear partially off screen, but once they're expanded at all, the whole dialogue box pops back into view. Arabic: wrong character order
As of InDesign version 19.2, numbers together with certain characters display incorrectly. Before version 19.2, in case you have e.g. 30% (in English), this should display as %30 in Arabic. As of 19.2, I have to add a right-to-left marker to have the right output; otherwise it will be displayed as 30%. Consequence is that in case linguists don't add the marker, all numbers or sequences display incorrectly.

Tint swatches are not working correctly for RGB swatches
When making a tint of an RGB swatch, the slider shows lighter colors (less saturated), but when applied, the colors are darker (less brigt) - black is added.

InDesign Beta can't open/convert PDF files
- InDesign Beta 19.5 x64.
- Try to open a PDF file.
- I expect PDFs designed in InDesign to be openable.
- When I try to open a PDF file (which has been designed in InDesign), nothing happens. The program acts like I haven't tried to open a file at all. The work area remains empty.

Hilfe - PDF in deutsch
Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
meine Meldung an den Support wurde sofort bearbeitet. Leider kamen wir auf das Ergebnis, dass die Hilfe - PDF leider nicht auf u.a. "deutsch" vorgehalten wird.
Vom Support konnte ich direkt die links bekommen, diese waren alle nur in englisch erhältlich.
Mein Problem,...
da wir eine JVA sind und die Strafgefangenen keinen Internetzugang haben, kann ich diesen, zur Optimierung ihres Wissens, keine Literatur an die Hand geben die im Internet vorgehalten wird.Wir benötigen die Hilfe-PDF in deutsch für folgende Programme:
- Indesign
- Photoshop
- Illustrator

Basic question re the difference between indesign and illustrator
I subscribed to indesign to view and be able to manipulate work done by a designer. He sent me his .ai - .psd files done with illustrator.
Everything, including .jpg are un openable.

Duplicated characters ONLY IN PDF EXPORT!
The following process creates a bug,
which only appears when exporting to PDF:1) Write a few words (in Hebrew) and add 2 footnotes
2) Set 'No break' to one of the characters between the 2 footnote references
Bingo!
Only it the PDF will the bug appear -
The character (comma\colon\letter) after the first comment - is doubled!!!In InDesign everything looks normal!

Windows 10 / InDesign 19.5 x64 - Text Frame and Zoom Window Problems
When attempting to use the Text Tool to creat a text frame by using the click / drag / release method either nothing happens (99% of the time), the text frame is invisble (I confirmed a text frame was created by viewing 'Undo Create Text Frame'), the release of the mouse pointer occurs on its own.
Expected result: create a text frame in a single movement: left click the mouse on a location, drag while the mouse button is held down, release the button to create a text frame

One Frame Grid Remains Unchanged When Modifying Multiple Selected Frame Grids
InDesign CS4 (v6) and Later
When changing the “Number of Characters per Line” or “Number of Lines” for multiple selected frame grids, one of the frame grids always fails to update. This bug, first observed in CS4 (v6), remains unresolved.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select multiple frame grids.
2. Go to the menu and choose “Object > Frame Grid Options...”

Problema al usar la lupa en pantalla hdmi
Indesign 19.5
.Problema con la lupa: cuando uso indesign en la segunda pantalla (hdmi), cundo amplias hace una ampliación máxima y después no permite disminuir, tienes que encajar en pantalla para volver a ver el documento completo. Esto en la pantalla nativa del macbook pro no pasa.

Drawing glitches when placing transparent PNGs in RGB documents on monitors with specific color profiles
Applicable to Any Version of Mac/InDesign
When using an EIZO color management monitor with a profile created by ColorNavigator where "Reflect Black Level in Tone Curve" is enabled, placing a transparent PNG into an RGB document causes severe drawing issues, rendering the document almost unusable.
This issue occurs only when GPU rendering is enabled and does not happen with CPU rendering. Additionally, it does not occur when placing a transparent PNG in a CMYK document.
Even under the same conditions, this issue does not occur in Photoshop or Illustrator, only in InDesign.

There must be more controls of the filling methods of table cells:
1. We must be able to select multiple many cells at once
2. We must able to apply gradients to selected cells individually
3. The whole table style including type of filling of individual cells, vertical and horizontal strokes, border, etc. must be saved in table styles and be applied totally to other tables
4. each table cell must have individual path and 4 corner controls

text color not showed in track change
In the Story Editor, when Track Changes is activated, there are 3 types of visual indicators for change: text color, background color, and marking. In practice only the marking and the background color work, while the text color is always displayed in black. Attached is a screenshot.

Overridden page items are still linked to master pages
Overridden items from parent pages are not really overridden, and may be silently deleted. Here is how:
- Make new spread document
- Go to Parent Page "A-Parent"
- Make a red box on left master page. Make a green box on right master page
- Add two pages to the document, page 2 and 3 is now a spread with a red and a green box
- Select the two pages in the pages panel. Right-click and choose "Override all parent page items"
- Move the green box from page 3 to page 2 by dragging it. Move the red box from page 2 to…

ePub 2.0.1 export creates invalid ePub files
InDesign creates incorrect ePub in latest version (19.5) when exporting reflowable ePub 2.0.1.
This is the result of any ePub generated with InDesign from the Draft2Digital Epub validator:
- ERROR(RSC-005): /OEBPS/content.opf(2,105): Error while parsing file: attribute "xml:lang" not allowed here; expected attribute "id"
The "xml-lang=" attribute should not be removed from the "package" tag, as it is not in the ePub 2.0.1 standard.
