Online publishing and interactivity needs importvments
1- make it responsive so it will fill in the screen
2- add navigation (TOC) on the side

addition of style override menu option
Please provide a menu option to override a style. Going to and from the associated style menu is time consuming and and would be easier if I could at least use keyboard navigation to access a menu option under the type, object or table menu headings to activate it.

Duplicate and Offset
I would like a way to override the keyboard shortcuts for "Duplicate and Offset." The shortcuts (option + arrow) are all too easy to hit while trying to navigate through text (using similar shortcuts). Many default shortcuts can be changed or deleted under Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts, but this set is not among them. For some reason the Mac OS doesn't permit shortcut changes to InDesign, either!

Drag Edited Images in Lightroom Directly to InDesign which automates Export and Creates "Shadow File Folder Structure" of Exported Edited Files. This would allow easy Image Navigation for visually identifying assets from Lightbox environment and directly linking them to INDD files without the cumbersome and redundant step of Exporting and then searching for exported file in FINDER. This is a no brainer for LR IND Integrated workflows! Please prioritize!

Autocomplete style names typed into styles dropdown in properties window
The new contextual properties window would be much handier if the dropdown window had an autocomplete ability similar to what's currently available in the Quick Apply window. The current implementation doesn't save any time, as you still have to navigate through the various options to find the one you want-- something I find more challenging to do thanks to the additional clutter of the font name/weight/point size being included in the dropdown.

Larger Windows for Find & Replace
Support for larger windows in "Find & Replace." The ability to paste big blocks of copy would be a great option. I had a project where I was making multiple identical pages with variable names and years. Then we had edits that were needed on all of the pages. If I could easily navigate within larger "Find & Replace" windows, I could've made those changes in half the time. Instead, I went just before and after each needed change and fixed each edit individually.

Create a tool called Work Checker.
I propose that the developers create a tool called "Work Checker." This tool would feature a screen where any design with multiple pages could be presented like a video. The "Player" should offer adjustable speeds to navigate through the pages. What would the benefit be?
This tool would allow us to compare our layouts in a "spatial" way, making it easier to ensure that the elements on each page maintain aesthetic coherence throughout the entire piece. It would also help identify any "jumps" in elements that disrupt the overall design aesthetic.

Ribbon and tab interface
I would like to express my desire to have the current menu bar replaced with a Ribbon and tab interface, similar to what is found in Microsoft Office 2016. I believe this new design would significantly enhance efficiency and usability. The Ribbon format organizes commands and tools in a way that is much more intuitive, allowing users to access the functions they need with ease. Duplex options in print dialog
I would like to be able to set duplex on / off and flip direction in the print dialog.
How it is currently setup, I have to change the printer, click "Setup..." which gives a warning about settings conflicts, click "OK", change the printer again (because I'm not using the default), scroll down to "More Settings", click "More Settings", navigate the HP print settings to adjust duplex settings, click "ok", click "print"
I would like the duplex settings brought out to the main print dialog because going through about 10 steps to change 2 settings is a huge waste of…

Allow key bindings, shorcuts and function changes for mice
Similar yet from different worlds, AutoCAD is easy to navigate a layout by zooming in and out with the mouse wheel to where the curser is pointed, as well as to pan by clicking and holding the middle mouse button. Is there a way to do this already? However, it seems that InDesign only allows binding of Keyboard shortcuts. Mouse-bindings can further reduce stress and fatigue when working on documents for extended periods of (Coming from a Civil Drafter of 7yrs). Request: Optional Horizontal Page Scrolling (Book-like Viewing) in InDesign
I mainly work on book and magazine design.
I would like to request an option to view and navigate pages in InDesign using horizontal scrolling, similar to the experience of reading an actual book or PDF spreads.
Currently, InDesign’s vertical scrolling workflow makes it difficult to grasp:
page rhythm and pacing
the relationship between facing pages
the overall structure of a book as a physical object
For editorial designers, books are fundamentally horizontal sequences of spreads, not vertical documents.
When checking layout balance, typography flow, or visual continuity, vertical scrolling creates a disconnect from the real reading experience.

Add the ability to color code window tabs and allow custom tab names that are not linked to the actual file name.

Bookmarking files on home screen
I'm often working on 10+ projects and probably 20+ files in Indesign at a time. Whenever I restart the computer or switch between projects, it takes time to navigate to the folder where I've saved the project and look at various collateral involved with the project as well as open the Indesign file.
It would be great to have another section on the home screen under the Recent files to have Bookmark files. The logical place to put the bookmark function would be in the Files menu when you have the file open, but you can also put a shortcut…1 vote -

Paragraph Style Option Dialogue Box - Bullets and Numbering
We had to change the font we're using for a checkbox in one of our paragraph styles. We have it set up under Paragraph Style Options / Bullets and Numbering. To add a character you want to use for a bullet character, you click add. There is no way to sort glyphs (by math symbols, greek, etc.) in the next window, and there are no scroll buttons.
